~
Chris step into the office after Laura and walk closer to her, Laura folded her arms from her chest and look at him to talk but Chris remain silent trying to find the right word to use to express his anger at her
"Are you here to give me the signed papers, here give it" Laura said and stretch forth her hand to collect it
"Do you really want to divorce me? You think its that easy because you had your way at the beginning?"
"You also want that and besides, you don't wouldn't want anything to delay your next marriage" she replied sarcastically
"What marriage?" he questioned but she remain silent and walk away a little from him, she placed her hand on her desk and sighed heavily closing her eyes briefly in fear of what she is about to tell him then turned back to face him slowly and lean into the desk
"I like you, I mean I don't love Avan anymore but I like you and you like someone else so instead of me wasting time and let myself get hurt the more it's better to just stop" she said in a breath and took another deep breath
"Mira told me yesterday about your meeting with her parents" she told him and bite her lower lips nervously
"I know from the beginning that you have someone but I just don't believe you will get married to me despite that and got ahead of myself and what I did back in high school is bad so…" she stopped talking when she heard a chuckle from Chris.
Laura raised an eyebrow wondering why he is laughing at her words, Chris covered his mouth slightly to stop himself from laughing and put his other hand in his pocket, Laura stare in disbelieve and feels hurt by his action
"Of course, am sure my words must sound funny to you and I sound like a fool also but don't you think you shouldn't laugh to my face?" she said pissed off
Chris walk closer to her and stopped right in front of her about two feet away, he held the divorce papers to her face.
"Are you sure that is all? You are not hoping that I won't sign it and stay with you?" he asked
"Why would I? am not a clingy woman" she answered although nervous with their closeness but she tried not to show it
"Is that why you went on a date with your ex yesterday?"
"I didn't go on a date with him and we were not there alone" she said raising her voice a little
"oh!" Chris expressed in a low voice and close up the remaining space between them. Laura locked eyes with him and quick avert his eyes turning her head to the other side
"Why did you help me? Am sure you know your wife-to-be did it" she questioned sulking.
"You are still my wife" he answered and lean into her then place his hands on the desk beside her
"We are getting a divorce?" Laura pointed out and inhale his scent, he smells so good
"Then why didn't you sign the papers? Are you not trying to hold onto me by doing that?" he asked giving her a naughty look
"What did you take me for? Am.." Chris stops her with a kiss on her lips
"You are what?"
"Am just…" he stops her again with another kiss which last longer than the first one
"You are just what?" he asked again enjoying her stunned look
"What do you think you are doing?" she asked and tried to push him away but he kissed her again and she stopped placing her hand on his chest. The kiss lasted for a few more second before he stopped
"Am not getting a divorce, since you start this then it will only end when I want it" he told her then start to kiss her again. Laura smiled happily and kissed him back but then he suddenly bite her lips
"ow!" she yelled and hit him lightly
"Don't ever meet with him again" he stated firmly and throw the divorce paper on the floor then pull her away from the desk and held her waist and she placed her hands around his neck smiling and kissed him

Ella opened the door slowly and peek in together with Nicholas who is standing next to her, seeing them kissing, she closed the door quietly and walk away
"I guess she is fine" she said to him
"Yeah, I guess there is really nothing to worry about about" he added and scratch his head anxiously
"And I can't believe we meet here of all places and to think you are Laura's stepbrother" Ella said trying to continue the conversation
"Are you busy? Can we talk?" he asked
"I guess am not anymore" she said knowing that Laura probably wouldn't remember her for the day
"Great, lets go to the cafe just opposite this building" he suggested and she agreed then the two made their way outside

Laura and Chris continued kissing and moved further away from the desk, Chris carried her in his arms and she wraps her hand tighter around him, the two rolled over to the sofa in the room and he gently place her on the sofa and staying on top of her, he continue to kiss her deeply
Laura pulled his shirt and put off his shirt, Chris stopped kissing her and he went down to her neck and kissed it passionately while she held him closer and inhale softly.
He move his hand over her bosom and pull down the zip on her gown just then, the sound of Chris's ringing tone disturbed them.
The two paused for a second and Laura signal to him to get the call which he did and murmur a few words like yes and okay before cutting the call.
Laura sit up and Chris moved away from her and sat very close to her on the sofa, the both of them stare at each other and suddenly burst into laughter then hugged each other snuggling
"I think if we continue this, we might end up doing it here" Chris whispered to her ears
"There are no bed here" Laura whispered back seductively
"Should we go to an hotel then?" he queried sweetly still smooching
"The house is still better" she responded
"But that's a bit far from here"
"Then you can wait" she whispered back but her response doesn't sit well with Chris and he pulled away slightly. Laura pull him back and whispered to his ears closely
"I still need to clear up the mess your Mira caused to my new product launch" she said and stood up then walk to her seat
"I don't think you need what you just said" he replied and followed her then cornered her to her seat
"shouldn't you comfort your husband who woke up to see a divorce papers" he joked
"Patient husband, your wife is not running away"
"Wife, how nice" he said and chuckled
"How about I start calling you 'my wife' instead" he suggested thrilled
"Hmm, no I don't want that"
"Wasn't asking for your opinion" he said
"Did you call me last night?"
"hmm and she picked the call"Chris is about to say anything but his phone start to ring and he pull away from her to answer a call
"Yes..okay..on my way" he said and cut the call
"You have to go?"
"Yes, I will be finish early"
"Okay, see you then" she said and hugged him one last time before letting him go
"Bye"

Ella ordered a caffe latte and Nicholas ordered an americano for himself, the two talked about their time together in country R and laugh together
Deep down Ella feels quite unease meeting Nicholas again, she had his child without his knowledge and now to discover he is Laura stepbrother who caused her pain in the past with his mother made her feel worst but she can't deny that she has also missed him a lot.
The both of them met each other at a blind date her friend forced her to attend in her place and hit things off from there, Nicholas was quiet but considerate during their date and they had a great time together.
After departing that day, the two stayed in contact and agreed to have fun together for the short period of time he would finish his studies but he left before the end of his studies as an exchange student and Ella found out she was pregnant after that but she couldn't bring herself to abort his child
"Actually, I want to apologize for leaving so suddenly and breaking things between us without talking to you about it in person"
"Its okay, It wasn't a serious relationship anyways"
"It was, at least I planned to continue dating you even after I finished school"
"Really? Then why did you run off?" she asked
"Like I said am sorry, somethings came up"
"So, got any fiancee yet?" she questioned
"Fiancee?"
"Yes, hasn't one been arranged for you yet?"
"Oh, my mom doesn't have the time to do that yet, she is focused on making me the owner of the business" he said and they laughed
"Are you going to?" she asked with a serious expression
"No" Nicholas saw a flash of relieve on her face
"What if I am?" he asked
"Laura is my best friend" she told him and he nodded in understanding
"So what about you? Boyfriend?" he questioned
"Why did you not say husband but boyfriend?"
"Because I wish you are not" he answered smiling
"I don't have any, am busy taking care of pum.." she stopped about to mention her daughter
"Taking care of who?" he asked further seeing her hesitation
"myself" she simply said and focused on her drink
"It's lunchtime, should we get something together?" Nicholas asked after another two minutes and realize it's not but Ella didn't mind it at all
"Sure, why don't we go to my place instead? I have a file to submit in about two hours from now"
"Okay, lets go" he said and they both leave to her house
