Chapter 30

After my dance with Chris, I went to my seat. Everytime someone asked for a dance, I honestly declined it and tell them I'm tired from dancing earlier. Even when the music changed and turned to hype song, I chose to just sit and watch other students on the dancefloor.

The truth is, I can't removed from my mind those words that Chris's dropped. I don't understant what she meant by 'just a friend'. Didn't she had some fellows in their room? I saw her before, she's with a circle of friends and they looked happy and united, so why? Is she messing up with me? What for?

I felt someone tapped my shoulder and when I looked at that person, I found out that it was Leo.

"You're thinking too...deep." that's what he said when he sat at the chair.

I frowned. "What do you mean?"

"I've called you, like 5 times? But you remained unbothered." He said then pulled his char a little close to me. "What's the matter?"

I clicked my tongue. "Remember the girl that you saw talking to me?" He nodded. "So yeah, her... earlier, she asked me for a dance..."

He narrowed his eyes and move his right implying for me to continue. "And?"

"When we're dancing, she's talking about something like as if we're close. So I told her not to since I feel so awkward then out of a sudden she seem so... sad? I don't know. She said something like 'Just a friend, that's all I need' like that then boom! She walked away." I faced him. "Tell me Leo, was that my fault? I'm just being honest towards her but I think I offended her in some ways."

Leo unbelievably looked at me and covered his mouth with his palm. "Bro, you screwed up."

I clicked my tongue. "I know but I just told what I really felt! I don't want her to wander around me like some kind of stalker. We're not even friends! Nor classmates! I even found out her existence like few weeks ago." I said.

I want to defend myself, that I did what is right. I'm just being honest, I didn't know that she'll take it that far. If she want a friend, why me? There's a lot of students here at the academy. I'm sure she'll find a person who suits her company well than me who's... jackass towards her. I gritted my teeth.

"You know, Kyle." Leo put his arms at my shoulder. "Girls' heart are so fragile. Even the simplest touch of unpleasant adjective could hurt them. And you Kyle, you didn't just touch it, you smashed it into tiny pieces!" Leo even squeezed his point finger and thumb then rubbed it to each other. "Like this tiny! And not just that. You even gradually lit heart with fire. It's burned, toasted and unidentified." He looked at me. "That's what you did to her."

I rolled my eyes at him. "Wow, you fucking helped a lot." I said sarcastically.

Leo laughed beacuse of it. "No problem, just for you."

I smacked his arm. "Fucker!"

He laughed once more. "Anyway, have you vote already?"

I clicked my tongue. "Tsk! Shit yeah, I forgot about that." I said in annoyance. "How about you?"

I shook his head. "Not yet." He said. "Let's go? Let's make our vote."

Leo and I stood up and headed the voting box. We grabbed the printed paper that has 'Male' and 'Female', written on its center. It didn't took me time to decide who were to vote. Ever since I laid my eyes at them tonight, I know they werw deserving and right to win.

'Sorry, Mother. I don't think I could win the award tonight.' I laughed for my thought as I write the name of my chosen students tonight.

MALE: LEO AGNES SEBASTIAN

FEMALE: CHRIS LELAINE TANTACIA

"Done?" It was Leo who asked.

I nodded. "Yup!"

"Eh? Let me see!" He said as he tried to reach out my paper.

I panicked and extended my arms so he couldn't take paper. "No! Leo!" I said.

He laughed. "Come on! Kyle! Let me see!" He kept in trying to get the paper. "Ha! You don't want, eh? Take this!" He said as he tickled me.

"WHAT THE FUCK?! HAHAHA! LEO STOP IT! HAHAHA!" I couldn't help but to laughed. "FUCK! LEOOOOO!" he's really teasing me to show the paper so I got no choice but to dropped it on the box.

"What? You're so stingy." He even narrowed his eyes. I rolled my eyes at him and punched his as several times.

"Fucker!" I blushed but he just laughed at it. I can't show him my paper because that would be really embarrassing. I didn't wait for Leo, I turned around and went back to my seat. While I was walking I noticed something. A flash of camera. The one who were using the camera was standing at the darkest part of the court. Then I saw a silhouette walking away.

I frowned. 'Who was that?' I shrugged then headed to our seat.

I reached our table and saw Amanda sitting in her seat. She was sleeping and her head was resting on one of the chair. I softly chuckled and nabbed my phone. I took a photo of her, showing her sleeping face. I chuckled once again. When I satisfy myself capturing her epic sleeping face, I carefully sat down then I gently put her head on my shoulder. It'll hurts her neck if she kept if sleeping like that.

Then I leaned my head against Amanda's head. Later I realized that I also fell asleep. I just opened my eyes when I felt someone tapping my cheeks.

"Kyle, Kyle." I opened my eyes and saw Amanda's face.

"Yes? Yes? What?" I tried to collect my thoughts. "What's happening?"

"They going to announce the winner for the contest. It's already 4:30 A.M." she said.

"Really?" She nodded.

We waited for almost 10 minutes before Ms. Gonza when on the stage and she's with Mr. Augustus, who's wearing a really dashing suit. He even tied his hair and shaved his beard. And he looks so good.

"Is that really Mr. Augustus?" Amanda whispered. I nodded. "Wow, he's really a daddy, eh?"

"Agree." I said. "Right, Leo?" I looked at Leo beside me. He didn't answer me but instead kept his eyes on the stage. "Leo?" I called him once more.

"Oh? Yes?" He asked, I think he just heard.

I shook my head. "Uhmm... nothing." I said the focused on the stage.

Ms. Gonza spoke. "Hello, students!" Just few students answered. "Did you all have fun?"

"I want to sleep!"

"I want to go home!"

"Yes!"

Ms. Gonza laughed with the students' responses. "Wow, I can feel you, guys. Anyway, you don't have to worry, after this y'all free to go home."

"YES!" students roared that made Ms. Gonza chuckled. I do too, not until Mr. Augustus frowned and spoke.

"Quiet." He didn't yelled but it made everyone toned down.

'What a mood sucker.'

Ms. Gonza chuckled awkwardly. "Hehehe. So... what have we waiting for? Let's find out who win the contest." The crowd roared. "Let's see... here!" Ms. Gonza opened the paper she was holding. "Wow! We have our winners!" The DJ played drumrolls. "For the Female Category, the winner got 88 votes out of 156 votes entry. It is... who do you think will win?!" Ms. Gonza asked which made the crowd noisy. Wow, they really have this contest vibes. Even Ms. Gonza knew how to handle the crowd.

I was focused on the stage when Amanda poked me. "Anosā, Kyle-kun."

"Hmmm?" I faced her.

"Let's make a bet." She whispered.

I frowned. "Bet? What bet?"

She moved a little closer. "Wait, hey Leo." Leo looked at us. "I'm planning to have a bet, just for the three of us."

"What bet?" Leo asked also.

"Like this, let's choose between the three of us who would win the contest. Loser will threat breakfast later before we go home."

I spoke. "What if none of us win?"

"Let's pay our own food." She said. "So deal?"

'Hmm... I think it's pretty fun.' I thought.

"Cool." I said. "You, Leo?"

"G." Said Leo. "Who's your bet? Let's say it in 3, 2, 1!"

"Leo." I said.

"Kyle." They both said. Me?

Amanda straightened her body. "What? No one votes for me? Whyyyyyy? My cosplays is so cute!" Leo and I just shrugged. "Whatever! I'm sure I'll win the bet!"

"Yeah, we will. You chose a wrong candidate, Kyle. " Leo smirked.

I shook my head. "Nope!" I said while popping the 'p' sound. "Don't doubt yourself, Leo. You two, will lose." I smiled smugly.

"No, Kyle. Leo's so ugly. That will never happen." Amanda butted in.

"Says the one who got no votes." Leo teased Amanda.

"Fuck you, bro." Amanda hissed which made us laughed.

Then Ms. Gonza spoke again. "I think it's time! The winner for the female category is none other than... Chris Lelaine Tantancia from Class D!" I smiled. I knew she'll win. Everyone cheered as Chris walked on to the stage.

"Thank you, Mr. Augustus." Chris said as Mr. Augustus gave her the crown. She was smiling like her usual queer smile when I met her eyes. She winked at me and mouthed something but I can't understand.

'I thought she hates me, so why? She's really weird.'

Ms. Gonza spoke again. "Next! For the Male category..." just like earlier, she's makingbthe announcement suspenseful.

"Kyle. Kyle. Kyle. Kyle. Kyle." Amanda chanted. But I know it's useles. I'm pretty sure Leo will win tonight.

"The winner for the male category who got 68 votes is none other than... Leo Agnes Sebastian!" Ms. Gonza yelled that made everyone clapped.

"I win! I told you! He'll won!" I can't but to shout. "Go there, Leo!" I said as I pushed Leo to stand up.

"Fine, fine. Shit, I lost." Leo scratched his nape then walked towards the stage. After that, I faced Amanda.

"So nice, I'll have free breakfast." I smirked.

Her lips drooped. "How the fuck Leo won?! Huhuhu I don't have money!" She squeled.

The party was now finished. All of our hardworks came to an end and everything that happened was just so satisfying. Other students went home already but we're still here. We're waiting for Leo who's getting his prize.

"Two tickets for amusement park?" Leo asked as the Ms. Gonza handed him the prize. Chris was also here but she speak no words.

"Yes, why? You don't like it?" The miss asked.

Leo shook his head. "No, I like it. Thank you for the prize, Ms." He thanked with full of gratitude.

"Thank you, Ms." It was Chris, she spoke just now.

Ms. Gonza smiled. "No, you deserve the prize. You worked hard for the party and it ended so well. The students did have fun so as the teachers. So we should be the one to thank you for everything." She said.

I can't help but to feel satisfied. Every ounce of our harworks had been paid so damn much, it was the the memories mand the happiness we made with our fellow students and teachers. After our talked with Ms. Gonza, we went out. Chris left earlier than us, I haven't had the chance to talk to her, I want to apologized for my words earlier.

"Shit, I shouldn't have started that deal. Huhuhuhu!" Amanda squealed, she can't moved on with the fact that she lost.

"I told you, I'll win. My guts never failed me. " I spoke with boastful tone.

"I should have sided you!" We laughed because of her.

Amanda ride on my car and the whole trip to our destination was mess. She played anime songs duringbthe whole ride. She's even dancing like a wild animal.

"Oboetenai koto mo takusan attadarou~! Daremo kare mo shiruetto~! Daiji ni shiteta mono~! w

Wasureta furi o shitanda yo~! Nanimo nani yo waraerusa~!" She's more of calling dark side than singing, I swear.

'Lycky you, Leo!' I thought.

After almost 20 minutes, we arrived on our destination, Atlis City.

"Let's go! They said the food here was superb!" Amanda said as she dragged us inside a food pub. Since they'll threat me, I let them odered food for me and waited for them on our table. I suddenly felt uncomfortable, so I removed my cravat tie then put it on the table.

It was just 6:11 in the morning but the place was almost fully crowded. Even outside the food hub, they're an ounce of crowd. I never tgought that Atlis peopme were early bird.

"Food is here!" It was Amanda. She was carrying a tray with lots of foods. Leo's following here, holding also a tray. They ordered fried rice, some bacons, eggs, toasted corned beef, and etc. The aromatic smell of the food assaulted my nostrils.

"Dig in! Itadakimasu!" It was Amanda who started the meal. We were talking the entire time. We e joyed and savored the dishes they bought.

"Actually, I already have someone in my mind who'll go with me in the amusement park." Leo said when Amanda asked him about the prize.

"Who? Lincoln?"

Leo hissed. "That brat would rather bury himself inside of his room rather than to go to amusement park." He said.

"Then who?" This time I'm the one who's asking.

He smiled. "Someone special although I don't know if my invitation will be accepted." Amanda and I whistled.

"Woah." We both said in unison.

After we ate, we decided to part ways. Amanda will be riding on Leo's car which I'm very thankful of. Amanda's anime songs were good but her voice was not.

'I'm so thankful I survived the ride earlier.'

"Bye, Kyle-kun!" Said Amanda.

"Bye, Kyle." Said Leo. They waved they're hands then entered Leo's car. I watched as their car vanished from my sight. When they're totally gone, I went to my car. Before entering my car, I fixed myself. And there I realized something.

"Shit, my tie." I mumbled then hurriedly ran towards the food hub. I sighed in relief when I saw it on the table we're sitting earlier. I went to get it and put on me. Then I went out of the food hub. It's just around 7:40 A.M. but the people were everywhere. Maybe because it's holiday that's why they're taking their time to stroll around.

I was in my way to my car when I heard something in the midst of ocean of people.

"Yeah, Jenny's fine, thanks to you" that voice!

I countered the flow of the people whose walking and tried to follow that voice. His moving way I must talked to him. I can't be mistaken, that voice was his! My body's shivering from the thought of seeing him here. After few months, I'm about to see him again.

"Wait! Wait!" I shouted but he's not looking back.

"Sorry! Sorry!" I even hit on to some people because of rush to follow him. I tried more to sneak in the crowd. I know I'm just few meters away from him! I can see him now. "Please, don't leave. Just please , I need to talk to you..." I silently prayed.

But I was wrong, the gap I'm trying to surpessed became huge when I smelled something. Something which I never thought i would smell right now.

"My alpha..." I mumbled. The scent was coming from the direction I'm heading. The same exact way where John's heading.

Yes, the voice I just heard was John's. And even I'm only seeing his back, I know it's him.

My heart's is throbbing so fast. I can't think straight anymore. "My alpha!" I shouted and tried to follow the scent. "My alpha!" I shouted again.

I tried to looked for him even thought it's so foolish since I never even know what he looks like. I only know his smell and his unusal voice. Then nothing else. That's it.

My own volition is slipping away, I'm getting driven by my desire to see my alpha. "My alpha!" I slightly pushed those people who kept on coming my way. My heart's ticking like a timebomb, it's like any moment it will explode. "John... my alpha..." I don't know who to call now. The chills I'm feeling just intesifies. Even with that state, I heard someone called me.

"Kyle!" My knees stumbled, I'm about to fall but someone cought me. "What the fuck are you doing?!" The person tried to dragged me at the corner, I tried to moved my body even with the burning feelings I have right now and the person made me sat on a cememted floor.

I lifted my head and I saw the face of the person who helped me. "Chris..."

"What the fuck was that?! You looked so messed up!" She said then squatted. "You looked like you're about to collapsed! What---" I stopped her nagging.

"Chris..." I lifted my had and held her wrist tightly. I was shivering with so much chills. I lowered my head. "Help me... help me... I can't... I... please..." I'm being delirious and I can't process what I'm saying.

"Help? Why---" she stopped. "Kyle..."

I shook my head and held her tightly. My tears started to fall. "Help..." with her hands, she held my face and lifted it. My tears were falling and I can see her bothered reaction. "Help me... please..." I only know nothing right now but to plead.

And I don't know what I'm pleading for. Is it to help me to ran after John? Or to look for my faceless alpha? Or to help me ease my quivering body? I don't know. I really don't know. Chris looked like she got what's happening. I can't see how worried she is for me.

"You are..." she mumbled. "... in heat..."
