196 Doffy, I Think This is A Good One

Mariejois, Room of Authority.

After the phone hung up, there was first a dead silence.

Then, the Gorosei holding the long sword asked, "Are his words, trustworthy?"

"He's a smart man, there should be no need to waste our goodwill on something that could easily be found out."

"That's true, but ..." said the blond Gorosei coldly, "has the government's intelligence been lax to this level? Even the Marine has needed to be warned about such things as members of the organization being controlled."

"At this rate, I wouldn't trust them with the safety of the Holy Land."

"The CP has indeed been a bit slack and has the best resources, but it's surprising that it's still far behind the development trends of the Marine!" The Gorosei with white curls said.

"Not really, but it's the most prosperous generation in the Marine right now, and it's not quite fair to compare CP to them," The bald Gorosei said.

"Don't say all that nonsense, you should have heard the last thing that Longinus just mentioned, North Blue..." said the long-bearded Gorosei, indifferently, "Humph! Is that brat acting restless again?"

"It is indeed possible, that brat is a descendant of the Donquixote family after all, so it's not surprising that he knows something." The blond Gorosei said.

"Besides, that brat loves to stay behind the scenes and manipulate everything. And this time pushing that king of some sort onto the stage is in line with his usual style." Gorosei with Swords said.

"So what, you want to teach him a lesson?"

"The lesson must be given, of course, at least so he knows what he can and can't touch."

"But don't go too far, that kid is a tricky one, and daring to threaten us with that secret means he's already set up a back-up."

Curly-haired Gorosei scrupulously said, "He's telling us that if he's okay, the government is okay, but if something happens to him, the back-up he's set up in advance will give that secret away."

"When the time comes, even we'll have a headache!"

"Huh? But that's no reason for him to be unscrupulous, and the government's ability to stand on top of the world for 800 years isn't threatened by a secret or two."

...

New World, an underworld exchange;

The smell of blood was pervasive, and they scattered all sorts of broken limbs and flesh everywhere.

"These guys are even trying to go rogue, Doffy, what do you think we're going to do?" Trebol pressed a pirate's head and chuckled.

"Of course it is, do whatever you want." Doflamingo lounged in the comfortable chair and crossed his legs, and smiled.

"Just blow them to pieces then, gorgeous fireworks, haven't seen that in a while, ne, ne." Trebol leaned his head closer to the pirate, then wiped even his snot off of him.

"Don't kill me, don't kill me ...," the captured pirate frantically struggled as he heard the two talking.

Bang!

The detonated snot destroyed this underground exchange nearly completely.

"There's too much noise, Trebol, it'll be troublesome if someone finds out." That said, there wasn't much blame in Doflamingo's words.

"Ne, ne, kill everyone you find and no one will know."

Bruburu, Bruburu.

"Well? It's Vergo on the phone!" Sitting slightly upright, Doflamingo got on the phone, "Didn't you say last time you were going to forget who you were for a while? Or is there something that is worth the risk of exposing you to inform me as well?"

"Doffy, there is something I must report to you alone." Vergo's deep, suppressed voice came out of the microphone.

"Fuffuffuffu, no need to ..." Dougherty looked over at Trebol and Diamante beside him and smiled, "Those who are here are absolutely trustworthy family members!"

"Doffy, aww!" Trebol and Diamante moved to whisper.

"I get it!" Vergo also recognized the two's identity from the whisper, "What I'm about to say is about ancient weapons!"

"Ancient weapons!" Doflamingo stood straight up from his chair, radiating Kenbunshoku Haki around, and repeatedly made sure no one was listening before saying, "Vergo, tell me everything you know, word for word!"

"I don't really know much, but just now, Longinus made an actual reference to ancient weapons when he defeated the Evil King."

"Evil King? Who's that?"

"A powerful character on Sandy Island in the first half of the Grand Line."

"Even you've said it's a powerful character, but it doesn't look like it's going to be an easy one."

"That guy, he's stronger than me." Vergo's cold voice came out of the microphone, "He's the one who ate the Mythical Type Neko Neko no Mi, Model: Cat Sìth, and stole the throne of the Sentasia Kingdom after using his ability to control the entire nation."

"Stealing the throne?" The smirk on Doflamingo's face grew more apparent, "Fuffuffuffu, that sounds rather interesting!"

"After stealing the throne, the Evil King has started dozens of major wars and exterminated the defeated nations on Sandy Island. At first I thought he was just trying to devour the souls of the dead, but combined with Longinus's words, it seems that he might be planning to cover up some of his petty actions with such a shocking event."

"To draw attention away from his search for ancient weapons with a massacre. To take the eyes of others away from his search for ancient weapons? Fuffuffuffu, I'd really kind of like to meet that interesting guy."

"No chance, he's already been killed by Longinus!"

"Wouldn't the possessor of such a powerful ability as the Neko Neko no Mi normally be held into Impel Down to await the World Government's admission? To kill him so eagerly, it seems likely that the matter of ancient weapons is indeed true!"

Doflamingo said, his face changing dramatically, "Wait, what kingdoms are on that Sandy Island you're talking about?"

Vergo, on Den Den Mushi's side, was a little surprised but carried out the order faithfully, "Azka, Garcia, Crete ...."

"Not these, is there one called Allah... Alaska..." Doflamingo was trying to search his mind for as many memories as he could.

"Is it Alabasta?" Vergo on Den Den Mushi side asked with a twitch of his lips.

"Yes, that's right!"

"Indeed there is, and the relationship between the King of Alabasta and Longinus seems to be quite close."

"If that's what this is, then it does make sense!" Doflamingo laughed gloomily, "No wonder they're still so comfortable after quitting the ranks of 'gods', it's because of this!"

"Vergo."

"In!"

"Your top priority now is no longer to climb to the top, but to find out as much information as possible about ancient weapons, and of course, I will try to cooperate with you in this regard."

"I understand, but, Doffy ..." said Vergo quietly, "it would be best if you stayed out of it, your identity is too sensitive in case the World Government finds out ..."

"Fuffuffuffu, Vergo, you're overthinking it!" Doflamingo laughed without a care in the world, "How could those idiots in the government grasp my movements, they won't know about this!"
