1 invincible

Several individuals in countless stories have died and reincarnated. They reincarnated to become stronger heroes and heroine, leading successful lives in their host bodies. But this was not the case for Julia all she could remember was being wheeled down a lonely hallway on a cold bed that felt like stone against her skin, she could hear distant noises from doctors and nurses as they desperately tried to save her life, before the blackout.

Beep..

Beep….

The sound of the numerous life support machines' she was hooked to echoed throughout the room.

"we lost her" the young doctor announced to his medical team

Tired, so tired, it felt like she was walking for ages, her entire being burnt with anguish and acute pain, a prickling sensation pierced her brain threatening to tear the organ into thousands of tiny pieces, she supported her head with both hands, carefully pressing her palms to both sides of her face to cease the torture that sought to tear her apart, she never imagined life after death would be so exhausting and brutal.

"What happened to the countless fairytale stories of dead people in overflowing white gowns living like angels with god in heaven" she wondered aloud.

At first she had tried to interact with people "madam, I think am lost would mind showing me the way to…The elderly woman continued her business without taking a glance at her direction,

She inched closer to the woman " madam am talking to you!!" she yelled hoping to startle the elderly woman with her voice. And yet again she was ignored.

Confused and worried she hurriedly turned to the little girl sitting a few meters from the woman, "hi sweetie, she whisperd to the young girl squatting to even their height " my name is julia whats your name? . the little girl stared into space as she devoured her lollipop with delight. Panic and fear engulfed julia, she struggled to her feet, shaking and trembling. She took a few steps backwards,

"helloooooooooooo!, can anybody hear me? She cried out.

Silence, absolute silence, not a single person cared, not a single person turned in her direction. everyone went about their bussiness as they should.

A sunden realization dawned on her, "am I invicible?, is it possible that people cannot see or hear me? Oh my God!, oh no!, oh no!," she sobbed in anguish .as the realization settled in. the misery of loneliness, a life of solitude and wrethchedness. The thought of spending the rest of her life isolated caused her muscles to shudder in uncontrolable spasm. It felt like ten thousands needles were poking her heart at the same time. She wandered aimlessly through the streets of manila, hot tears streaming down her face, and just when she thought that life has dropped biggest bombshell it has on her and she had to resign herself to a life of everlasting loneliness something shocking happened

"miss are you okay? You seem a little disorientated, are you lost?" taken aback by the sudden but favourable turn of events julia was renderd speachless, her eyelids twitched and futtered,in astonishment.in a fit of excitement she threw her hands in the air twisting and wrigling them as she let out a burst of laugther, she could not believe someone actually saw her.

"can you see?" she asked, pointing her mid finger to her chest for emphasis.

" isnt that obvious" the young woman sneered whilst instictively taking a step backwards "what kind of person gets excited about being seen and heard" she mummured to herself.

Julia sensed the unease within the young lady and comported herself. " am sorry, I didn't mean to statrle you with my intense reaction, my name is julia, I am a ghost, nobody can see me….nobo

"wait you say your what?" the young lady interrupted

" a ghost, she reapted. nobody can hear me, I am practically invincible"

"alright miss julia ghost, it was n i c e m e e t i n g you, I have to go now" the young lady stammerd as she doubled her pace hurrying to get away from the deranged woman. It was obvious she didn't believe a word of the arrant nonsense she just heard.

" no, please, you have to believe me. julia barked, "I know all of what I just said sounds stupid and unbeleivable, I find it difficult beilievieng it myself. But ill prove it to you". She flew to a policeman and shouted to his face " hey, you stupid policeman all you do is stand under the burning heat of the sun and direct useless drivers whoose only desire is to crush you,"

the policeman went about about his duty as he should. She procceded again without being asked to, to rain insults on another policeman before she was stopped.

"you mean nobody can can see or hear you? The lady was bewirlderd, she could not wrap her head around the strange phenomenon. she expected the policeman to react to the insults being hurled at him. What astounded her the most was that she was capable of seeing and hearing someone who claims to be a ghost. Her pupils widened with surprise and awe "how is this even possible?" she wonderd aloud.

"it's the same thing I keep asking myself" julia blurted out. " you are the only one who can see and hear me, that's why you cant leave me, please, let me come with you, at least untill I figure out what happened to me and how I can fix it."

"am going to work, and besides we just met, and my boss would be angry, and my co workers would ask questioins and I may get fired and, and and…." She cooked up several excuses to keep the ghost away.

"I know, I understand, I promise not to disturb you, or your boss and even your co workers, nobody will notice am around, am invincible remember? Pleaseeeeeee, say yes, say yes....." she beged as she pressed both palms together and brought them close to her face. Mimicking a prayer posture. Her appearance resembled that of a cute little child begging her mother for candy.

A few seconds of silence followed. "okay, she reluctantly agreed, "although I still don't see how coming with me changes anything, and you don't have to look at me like a child just to get me to agree. She added. Letting out a small laughther. They both burst out laughing like old friends who had just reaquainted.
