RANK THREE

A scorpion of about 200 inches was spraying poison out of it's stingers in waves,it was like a rotating sprinkler that could spray water from two sides.

An attempt to kill the scorpion was being made, they haven't fought a poison themed beast before so they had no idea what would happen if the poison touched them but it sure won't be good.

Steve didn't really care for why this huge scorpion needed to be killed,but this was fun for him so he volunteered to kill it.

All running with him towards the beast ,as waves of the poison sprayed at them they moved to dodge it .

Reaching a 10 meters from the beast they intended to use the dilapidated building which was a duplex of some sort they went in separated,two at the bottom floor ,alex on the second floor and two on the roof.

They had a plan <I know the didn't say anything about it before,I just thought up plan while writing this chapter>

The plan was to attack the beast was that Danso and zuri were to attack from ground level ,Aniyah and neo would attack from the roof while steve would attack from the middle while the beast was distracted .

Danso and zuri ran towards the scorpion while swerving to dodge the poison .

Danso with his axes' on the floor he dragged them as he ran so they scrapped the ground bringing up dust ,said dust seemed to form layers around the axe increasing the size of it's bladed head.

[Element Technique : Earth Merge] Then using them he smashed them into the pincer of the scorpion that was coming towards them.

With zuri following closely on all fours she attacked using the same technique in attempt to damage the same pincer.

While this was happening Aniyah and neo jumped off the roof of the dilapidated building, using her technique Air stepping she threw neo by hand towards the scorpion at full might .

Neo in the air activated he's ice armor and struck at the other pincer the scorpion sent towards him.

With the scorpion occupied in both sides steve broke through a window to attack the scorpion.

It was a solid plan as Danso,zuri and neo kept one pincer occupied respectively for a brief moment steve was to attack the head or face to kill it .

It should have worked well but steve was too far to reach the scorpion and was falling to the ground,him falling would spell the end of the plan and they would have to retreat.

Although they could use techniques it wasn't without cost using it multiple times would cause them to use up all of their energy.

Seeing the plan failing steve couldn't think of a back up plan but something crossed his mind in that state of fall.

'That thing that Aniyah did to step in the air , could I do it?'

This was a ridiculous thought .

Techniques took time to learn and some would not perform it well especially self learnt ones.

Although he couldn't fell his energy he tried gathering his energy below he's feet in order to do it, it wouldn't hurt to try now would it?

Failing slightly, to his shock he managed to create a brief platform that his toes used as a stepping stone to propel himself toward.

Although not complete, imperfect and completely ridiculous he did it.

Nearing the scorpion's face it used one of it's pincers to attack him,neo couldn't keep the pincer at bay for long.

With the momentum propelling him he stepped on a part of the pincer and spun his body sideways with his swords at both sides of his body ,with said spin he rolled down the pincer while causing damage but suddenly the scorpion sent the other pincer smacking him out of the air .

Seeing him falling the team attacked with full force , Aniyah and zuri attacked one of it's legs each.

Then Danso with a solid hand platform helped propel neo up towards steve , catching steve by his hand he threw him at full force towards the scorpion.

Steve although mildly disoriented he used the momentum to spin mid air like before and he became like a seesaw in the air.

Although a pincer was in his way his immense speed cut through it and he had himself in front of the scorpion's face.

Poison in the air ,his spinning body coming to a slow stop he left his sword mid air shocking everyone,and the all so familiar purple ball began materializing in his right hand.

With his body slowing down completely ,he smashed the ball into it's face ,the energy ball repelling and attracting it's face equally causing a crushing force to go through it's face.

Half of his hand impaled in the scorpion's face steve took a breather ,wisps of air coming out of his mouth .

With that attack the scorpion fell to the ground with immediate force.

Everyone in the surrounding looking at steve shocked at the attack he used.

Pulling his hand out of it's face ,he raised them up in the air

"That was awesome"Steve smiled .

"Whoa steve ,you can use that technique ."

"Technique? this is just something I can do ."

"Hm,something you can do ?"

Aniyah on the other hand went towards the body of the scorpion,using her sword she cut through it's head and brought out some type of crystal of purple color from it.

She stared at it for a while then turned to steve.

"That's why this one was hard to kill , it's a rank three beast."

'Rank three?'

Zuri looking at steve knew he didn't understand what Aniyah meant so she explained .

"All beasts exists at ranks , Although they have rank names they are separated from rank 1 to 7.

1 being the weakest and 7 being the strongest

of them.

The one we ...I mean you killed was a rank three beast although we killed it we aren't at that level yet."

"Here catch "Aniyah said throwing the crystal at steve.

"The one who kills it gets the crystal,We were meant to kill at least five beasts today but taking on this rank three wasted a lot of time."

'Was the information faulty? Why would they specify it was rank two when it above it? is it because of him' Thoughts of confusion flew about in aniyah's head.

Catching the crystal Steve was confused but with her response he understood.

Holding the crystal and feeling the solid cold body of the crystal his body reacted.
