30 Drama is fun

How do you deal with drama?

First of all, you gotta knew what's the cause of it in the first place. And for Miko's case, they need to find out whose the culprit that was behind all of this.

And after that, you try to limit the damage the drama has done, typically by turning the attention of the crowd to something even juicier. Most people don't really care about the people behind it, they just want to see the world burn. However, Anemachi needed a lead of the culprit first.

"But do you really have no clue about the who the culprit may be?" Anemachi brushing her hair spoke to A-chan, troubled by the situation.

She stood in the office, facing A-chan as she came here right after she woke up at Miko's house, with her bandaged hand. Of course, her hand had greatly surprised her co-workers and everyone in the office.

And Anemachi had to spend some effort to explain everything to A-chan.

"Sorry...I don't have a clue." Yet A-chan knew nothing, just like Anemachi.

A-chan on the chair was frustrated. Her eyebrows cramp together as she went into her thoughts. After hearing what had happened to Miko from Sora and Anemachi's mouth, she was too furious and worry. But on the bright side, Anemachi was managed to stop the worst from happening.

A-chan's phone had exploded with messages too, with people and company inquiring her about Miko's situation, and confirming whether the news was true. Miko had signed up quite some contracts beforehand and some of them involve months or even years of planning. No doubt they will retract their contract if this wasn't handled properly.

"But, are you sure about there being a culprit behind this? I mean...It could be that something just went inside her ex's mind. Human is unpredictable."

"...Just my instinct ticking."

Anemachi doesn't have any proof. So, she wasn't confident in her guess.

'But negotiating with her ex. This will suck.'

She doesn't like him at all, to say the least. He broke Miko's heart, ruin Miko's career, and nearly her life. But this was so far the only lead she had on hand. And letting it went away isn't what Anemachi wanted to achieve.

The news of Miko's ex was still spreading around on the internet. The longer this dragged on, the more damage it will do to the people involved inside.

She walked out and went into her own office. The phone in her hand was heavier than usual. The screen was showing a number that Miko had given her earlier. Anemachi bit her lips.

She called him, dialing the curse number, praying for the best. And the call went through.

"Is this xxx? I'm Sakura Miko's manager, representing Cover corp. I would want to talk with you regarding the article you had published earlier."

"..."

"I just want to know. What would it take for you to take down that article? You do know that we can strike that down anytime right?"

"..."

"...Are you serious?" The hands of Anemachi began to tremble. She tried to restrict her urge to shout at the man on the other side of the phone.

"..."

"Bye."

Her breathing got heavy. The word disgusted and more importantly, anger the manager. Until eventually, she threw her phone onto the ground, out of frustration.

The sound of the phone dropping pierced through the thin wall of the office. Alerting A-chan which was waiting for Anemachi outside. She came into her office.

"...It didn't go well?"

"No, it didn't."

Anemachi closed her eyes. went deep into her thought, searching for solutions.

"How long will it take to strike down what he had published online?" Anemachi asked.

"The earliest, two weeks, a month if it didn't go well."

"Too long."

Miko will be ruin by then.

"He asked for too much. Cover wouldn't accept his term." Neither will Anemachi, "Outrages, disgusting, it's a miracle that he even dare to propose something like that."

"Cause some people are backing him up. We are running out of options." That was when a man in suit came in, heavy eyes shadow below his eyes. The president of Cover Corp standing before Anemachi and A-chan silently.

"P-president? What are you doing here-" A-chan however was interrupted before she could finish her sentence.

"Sit down, we need to talk."

Tanigo sat on Anemachi's chair without much thought while taking control of the situation. With his back against the chair, he spoke when both A-chan and Anemachi settle down.

"How is Miko's situation now?"

Did Tanigo don't understand the situation of Miko right now? Anemachi doubted it. So what's the purpose of this question? Possibly to test what do they think about the whole incident till now.

"..." Anemachi answered the question eventually after confirming with A-chan with a look., "Not good. The public is viewing her negatively now. Even her own fanbase has been divided by it. And many businesses are planning to terminate their contract with us."

"We need to solve it as soon as possible if we don't want Hololive as a brand to fall apart."

"I see." Tanigo answered with his eyes closed, "Those bastards did it huh?"

"Do you happen to know anything about it?" Anemachi pushed for answers, thirsty for the truth.

"...Some big fellow in Cover don't like Miko. Or to be precise, the way I'm running Hololive," he sighed, "I can't explain it all now. But to sum it up, it won't be easy to take down what he had published."

"So, the investors are trying to put down their talent?" Not the worst that could happen but not that far from it either, "What's the plan now then, president?"

"Let the storm blow over while we wait for the article to be taken down. Suspend all activity of Sakura Miko. Issue a declaration that our talent is not involved in any manipulation and that everything publish are all false accusations. "

The typical way. But it's not something that Anemachi wanted.

"How about convincing them to not ruin their own group?"

"...It won't be easy."

No huh.

"Can I have access to Cover's social networking then? I wanted to do something for Miko."

"What do you need?"

"An original song for Miko."

"...Are you serious?" Tanigo was dumbfounded by Anemachi's idea, "You know this isn't the sort of time to do that right? Releasing a song at this time is the worst thing you could possibly do."

"I will bear the cost of the creation of song entirely. Is that enough?"

"What are you planning to do, Anemachi?"

"Saving her career."

Of course, she ain't insane. The song was the attempt of her to utilize this incident to push Miko's popularity. It will be a shame if an opportunity like this went to waste just like this. She however lacks the connection to musicians. That's why she required access to Cover corp networking.

She did promise Miko to make her popular after all.

But for actually solving this problem. Sorry, Anemachi was not planning to just let it die off eventually. And as she left the office after discussing with Tanigo. She went to the washroom. There, she have to call someone who she had try to avoid for a while

"Hey, are you there?"

"..."

And just when Anemachi thought that the people on the other side were still angry at her. The voice came through.

"Motherf*cker, I never thought I will be able to hear your voice ever again! The hell have you been recently!?"

"Ok, look, it's complicated alright."

"What's up then? Wanna go hang up somewhere to catch up?"

"Sure, sure. It's just that I need some help from you..."

"Help?" The voice doesn't like the sound of that, "You get yourself into trouble? Don't tell me that you need me to bail you out of jail. Japan's prison is quite hard to break in. It took me quite some effort last time to bring someone out from there-"

"Stop stop stop." Anemachi tried to stop this dangerous criminal from starting a headline on the local news, "God damn it. Can you be more normal? I'm not in any trouble alright. Well, I just need some help for my friends."

"Friend? Sure, what do you need?"

"..."

"Anemachi?"

"Is it too hard for you?"

"No, no, it's not hard. But...I never expect you to propose something like that." This really doesn't sound likes something Anemachi will ever agree, moreover propose.

"...He hurt someone that I care about."

"Ah." It made sense then, "Alright, should be done as soon as tomorrow then."

"Thank you, really."

"Hehe, don't worry about it. But as compensation." The voice stopped for a while, "You gotta go out for a drink with me. Damn you, disappearing without a trace is a crime!"

"I just don't want to acquaint myself with someone dangerous..."

"What did you said?" The voice don't like what Anemachi was implying, "Come on, I'm not that bad alright. Our group even manage to get a modest citizen badge from the government last year."

"...Did you threaten them to give you one?"

"Don't see me like that!"

"Anyway, thank you. If you need anything from me, feel free to ask me. However, I doubt I have anything that I will interest you with."

"Ha. You are much more interesting than you think you are, Anemachi."

"Am I, I wonder."

"You are."

"...See you then. Appreciate your help."

Sometimes, Anemachi wondered why did life decide to put these people into her life.

Perhaps, she was just a lucky girl in this world.
