Chapter 4: Induction

"As the ability awakening ceremony was interrupted we will be unable to administer specialised training to suite your blood line and ability potential, as such we the united world government decided that most of you are probably trash and you no longer have any family to protect you so we gave you a low earth grade DNA elixir from The Revealer's Opus corp. This will begin to change your body to a form more accepting and able to use mana. These changes will occur over a span of one month, some vastly more drastic than others and some being vastly more powerful than others. You will now be induced by wave Delta."

The ground began to tremble, and a look of panic washed over the faces of all that were present, and a foreboding sense of dread began to well up once again in Reiner's heart. Reiner had noticed a sense of unease had begun to well up building itself up slowly but surely ever since the card his grandfather had left him had inserted itself into his forehead and caused him to pass out.

The quaking ground slowly began to settle and the nervous panicked expressions that coated the children's faces began to ease. 7 doorways opened, inside each was a child that looked to be nine years old, two of them were humongous and covered head to toe in scars and adorned in rough, unkempt ripped orange robes. Two of them were neat and tidy in Buddhist monk robes draped over them and an air of serenity about them, the rest were all plainly dressed in ordinary jeans and hoodies nothing noteworthy about them besides one girl who was seemingly only had one eye in the middle of her skull much like a cyclops from Greek mythology.

The cyclops like girl began to speak "Boulder, isn't their much more people than usual?"

"I heard there was extenuating circumstances which meant all of these unfortunate rats got classified with a PTL of Crimson red" replied one of the giant scarred men

The girl then let out a soul curling cackle that seemed to itch the very soul of those who heard it and began to speak once more "serves these pretentious little rats right I suppose, and get this they all had to inject themselves with a DNA elixir so about 90% of these maggots are going to die tonight so that means there should only be 700 how about we just take them to the barracks give them the evolvers guide and the monks can give them some cultivation manuals to choose from then after the majority of them have died we can divide them up tomorrow?"

A circle of laughter could be heard from the jean wearing and the scarred individuals. The monks maintained their silence but one gave a slight nod of approval as if agreeing to what the cyclops girl had said.

The archaic voice echoed out once more "since you've decided what to do with them you may now leave. Wave Echo go to whichever exit is closest to you and follow the Wave delta students to your new barracks where you will stay for the next month during your adjusting period while you evolve into your new improved forms. During this first month you will be safe, and tutors will come and teach you new ways to manipulate mana and you will all receive your first summon. Strive to become as powerful as possible as after this one-month probation period anyone that we still deem to be weak and unfit will be killed and their DNA and abilities will be extracted."

After that sombre reminder of the danger and peril they were in the children's faces dropped they all looked desperate and an urge to survive could be seen in each and every single one of their eyes. The 7 wave delta youths began to lead the way out of the grand hall through seven corridors that closely resembled mines. Reiner could faintly see the crevices and marks left behind by a pickaxe on the walls and he thought to himself if this realm was made by a druid and a few cultivators why were people mining in it and why would they not have just asked said druid to create the tunnels for them or even use their own magic to build them.

His thoughts came to a halt as they reached the end of the tunnel and a gentle light could be seen as they stepped out onto the giant mountain range they were instructed to make their way back to the place they woke up and one by one enter their 'vault'.

As Reiner pondered how they expected all of them to fit in one vault he noticed that as soon as one person entered, and the door closed the person seemingly vanished into thin air without a trace. He marvelled at how this happened and then was enlightened as he listened in to boulder and the cyclops' conversation and came to understand that this feat was achieved through a mastery of space time magic and each time the vault door opened a parallel universe where the vault was empty would be opened and when you stepped through the universe would switch to another parallel universe where it's empty ready for the next person.

Eventually it was Reiner's turn he stepped forward into the vault where there were five books and a set of clean clothes waiting for him- Reiner was more excited about finally having a pair of new clean clothes and no longer having to wear the dirty rags he used to.

The first book was an extremely thin paper back roughly 11 pages held together by a single staple making it look extremely flimsy. The book was new still inside its plastic wrapping it was entitled "Guide to your first evolution".

The next two were thicker but still relatively thin only about 70 pages each they were hard back and were relatively old judging by the thick blanket of dust covering them they were entitled "guide to summoning your Demonic beast" and "guide to using your system" respectively.

The final 2 were thick hard back roughly 300 pages the size of a normal novel and were entitled "mana cultivation" and "Demonic beast cultivation".
