(The Ordinary Ninja ch27)

You won't find a clan that thrives in war more than the Uchiha clan.

That is what the textbooks stated.

At first I found it odd since every Uchiha I came across was talented in their own right, but after I got into a team with Itachi and witnessed his growth, as well as his suffering, I understood now.

The Uchiha thrived in war because in war, people die. And if an Uchiha loses someone they dearly loved or cared about, a flower inside of them will bloom.

This flower is called the Sharingan, and with it, the Uchiha can dominate in any war.

But as mentioned before, this power came at the cost of pain and suffering, especially if the person you lost is someone very close to you. For example, your sibling.

'An Uchiha wishing to kill his sibling… this will be fun,' I chuckled, making the young shinobi in front of me furrow his brows.

'But why would… Oh right, Itachi massacred his own clan. Huh, thinking about it now, the bastard is ruthless,' I smirked.

"What's so funny?" The young Uchiha scowled.

I laughed.

"Nothing. I was just thinking that if he was ruthless, then so was I."

The Uchiha tilted his head.

"Who is… he?"

"Curious, aren't we? Well, let's make a trade. Tell me your name and I'll tell you who I'm talking about."

"No thanks," the Uchiha scoffed. "What will I get from knowing who you were talking about?"

"Oh I promise you, you won't regret this offer," I grinned. He couldn't see any of my expressions, but that didn't matter.

"... Fine. My name is Sasuke Uchiha," the Uchiha, Sasuke, stared at me. I didn't detect any lies. Well, he is under a subtle genjutsu that will make him lower his guard against me, but if I were him, I wouldn't say my real name.

"Hehe, interesting. Well, the person I was talking about… was your older brother, Itachi Uchiha."

"Damn it, where is that idiot Sasuke? Why did he disappear like that?!" Yelled a blonde teen.

"Naruto, quit yapping and search around properly!" Yelled back a pink haired kunoichi who was a little taller than the blonde.

Both of them are ninjas from Konoha, and watching over them was Kakashi.

"Mah, don't worry about Sasuke. I'm sure he's fine," Kakashi said with an eye smile. 'Shit, where did Sasuke vanish?!' Though his inner thoughts were completely different.

Just when he was about to summon his ninken to search for Sasuke however, he sensed a familiar chakra signature nearby.

'That is…'

"Hey, sorry for that. I got lost," Sasuke said, not at all bothered with the yells and complaints of his teammates. He noticed Kakashi eyeing him from a distance, but he shrugged it off and approached his mentor.

"Kakashi-sensei, let's talk later."

"Oh? What's this about?" Kakashi asked, amused and suspicious at the same time.

"You'll find out later," Sasuke said, before he was dragged off by his two other teammates.

Seeing the three bicker and annoy each other, Kakashi shook his head. 'I guess whatever it is, it won't be that bad. They've already formed a bond of friendship, which is what matters.'

"Kakashi-sensei," Sasuke called out to the man sitting on the window. Kakashi was watching the starry night in silence when he arrived.

"So, will you tell me now what's the mysterious topic you want to talk about?" Kakashi asked, his voice playful but his face stoic.

"Kakashi-sensei, what do you know about Ghost?" Sasuke asked, earning a confused look from his mentor.

"Ghost? You want me to tell you about ghost stories?" Kakashi giggled, much to Sasuke's annoyance.

"Tsk, I'm talking about a ninja named Ghost," Sasuke clarified.

For a moment, Kakashi stayed silent.

"Ghost, huh…? Are they the same person? How obvious yet we still didn't know," Kakashi let out a small chuckle.

"What are you talking about? Do you know him?"

"Yes, I do. Ghost… is a man who should be dead," Kakashi laughed and crossed his arms while reading a small orange book.

"Yeah, but he is alive," countered Sasuke.

"Correct. That's why he is called 'Ghost,' my cute student," Kakashi waved him off. "So, why do you want to know more about Ghost?"

"I… want to kill someone, you already know that. And I learned that the person I want to kill had a connection with Ghost," Sasuke reasoned, making Kakashi narrow his eyes.

'How do you even know that?' Kakashi pondered before pushing it at the back of his mind.

"Hmm, well then. I'll tell you one thing. You cannot kill Ghost," Kakashi simply said.

"What do you mean?" Sasuke asked, confused. "Is he immortal?"

"No… well, firstly, I fought him several times already and thought that I killed him every time. Surprise, surprise, he is still kicking," Kakashi sighed. "Secondly… you might want to look in the bingo book," Kakashi said and threw another small book toward Sasuke.

"Page 209," Kakashi said and returned to reading his book.

"Page 209… ah, Bounty Ninja, Ghost. S… S-rank?! He's as strong as Ita— that person?!"

Kakashi chuckled, "Not quite, I'm way stronger than him, and unless he is blind, Itachi is stronger than me."
