1 Himari

On a sunkissed afternoon

A boy with golden curls prayed in front of the temple.

His hands hugged each other.

Blue eyes soft and mellow, watching over the two statues towering above him.

Two wolves.

One white, one black.

Sapphires for eyes and rubies that sparkled amongst the blackness.

Himari Deyama.

The boy who prayed was the one chosen to be extinguished.

A light that would falter the day after tomorrow.

Such sorrow would his family face.

His mother knows no such sorrow, for the day that he was given to the temple, she smiled.

Himari Deyama, the boy who prayed, prays for his village's tradition to crumble.

His rage is akin to calm waters.

Himari wasn't the first choice, his cousin had run off with a suspicious woman.

Albeit, Himari would never ponder if it were a spirit, goddess, or nymph that took him away.

All Himari knew was if he ever caught his cousin, he would squeeze his throat.

Squeeze, squeeze, squeeze.
