"Congratulations Senior, you got the promotion! They are promoting you to the best restaurant in the Sweet Delicacy chain along with providing several other benefits", the staff with a sweet English accent stood out to speak first.

He seemed to be extra excited as if he had been waiting for this day to come for many years.

When she heard such good news, Li Xue was also happy. She was more content to see the smiles on the faces of the people around her who were joyful in her happiness. To her, this was the meaning of life.

A life where you are surrounded with people who share your joy in your success, and gets sad in your sadness, helps when you need something while asking for help when they need yours, without being formal. This is what it means to be a family. It is not necessary to be blood related, if one's heart is connected, then it's enough to be called a family, a happy family.

"Sister Xue, they are just making fun of me because I am still not able to confess my feelings to her", he complained. His expression changed into one of seriousness, depicting a junior kid who got bullied by his seniors and had come to report it to his class teacher.

Seeing his expression, Li Xue laughed out loud, leaving everyone awestruck of her beauty. Her eyes got smaller, leaving only her long eyelashes visible to everyone's view. Her face turned a shade of pink, giving her ethereal beauty a most beautiful pinkish glow.

Everyone's gaze became gentle as they watched her laugh. Only one thought was ringing in their mind. 'May the time stop just like this'. Her simple laughter took away their breath.

Not only the men but also the young girls who had joined the restaurant for the part time jobs or from training were also awestruck. There was no doubt that she was a stunning beauty whom God created using his most precious time and efforts.

Li Xue was brought back to reality when she noticed everyone's stares on her. "Sorry, I never mean to laugh like this. Bojing you are really cute. But you should use this on the girl you like. She will be a dumb one if she let go of such an adorable boyfriend like you."

Bojing was also taken away by her beauty. So, when Li Xue said so many words to him, he wasn't able to understand them in his mind. "Sister Xue, you should laugh more. You look really beautiful when you laugh like that."

  When she reached the office, she gave a small knock to ask permission to get inside, "Good morning, Manager!".

  A woman in her mid – 40s, wearing big round glasses was sitting behind the desk going through some journals. Hearing the knock at her office door, she looked up and a small smile spread over her lips, "Ahh! Li Xue, you have come. Quickly come in! You must have heard the news already. Congratulations!!"

Li Xue went inside and took her seat on the chair in front of the manager. "Thank You Manager! When I got the pay raise a few months back, I never expected to receive yet another promotion. This must be because my manager thinks really high of me".

"Hahaha… You are really a very capable employee under me. How can I let my employee be at a loss? You deserve a lot better. Because of your dessert recipes, our restaurant is running really well. You definitely deserved this", the manager said with a proud expression.

"But this time your promotion has brought us at a great loss, dear. You are getting promoted to be the head dessert chef at the best 5-star restaurant in a different city. Your opportunity scope has become the best one and you will be getting the best opportunities to prove yourself from here on out. And I am happy for your little one too. She must already be bored of this small city. Now she can go to a big city for a change", The manager said with a smile.

The manager has known Li Xue from the day she has set her foot in this small city. She didn't know much about her but the thing that compelled her to help this girl was because of the life that was growing inside her.

Knowing her side of the story wasn't important. The thing that mattered was the heart that was continuously asking her to help her, saying that she wasn't guilty of the things that the world was accusing her of.
