/"You're one hell of a talker, huh?/" I came back to reality upon hearing his words. My eyes flickered to him, only to find he was already resting his all-consuming gaze upon me.

I was impressed, how well he could focus while being that high - which was quite apparent from the way he talked and walked, and the way he usually needed long seconds to register and understand my perfectly normal English.

/"Who bet you up?/"

He snickered at the question, and shrugged - I knew this shrug; the infamous, I don't know which wound you are talking about, and too many people bet me up recently for me to point out one specific occasion shrug.

/"Who bit you like that?/" he glanced to my neck.

/"My... partner, I guess/"

/"Partner?/"

/"It's complicated./"
