“Well? How about it?” came Avery’s voice again, still composed and relaxed. It had a calming effect on O.B.
“Um. Okay, sure. I’ll see you about nine.”
“Great, see you then. Bye for now.” Avery hung up.
Shit! What am I getting myself into!
After Avery’s call he made himself a stiff drink and sat on the couch, considering the man’s words. “I just thought I’d like to get to know you better. And I also thought maybe you might like to talk about things with someone who’d understand.”
What did Avery mean by that? Is his gaydar sharp enough to have discovered I’m gay?
