A Real Maid, Seriously!?

"Ohoho, it appears I've angered someone. Young man, prepare for impact." Tesshin stood up and put his hands in a fighting stance.

'Something is coming.' Nikolai looked towards the window and braced for the impact just as Tesshin told him.

"You shitty old man!" Momoyo shattered the window and flew towards Tesshin with an incredible speed. Tesshin intercepted her and held both of her fists in his hands. The glass shards fell all around the room, making quite the mess in the headmaster's office.

"Now now, Momo, you will have to pay for that window. I can't have you making trouble here."

"Shut it! What was with that battle Ki!? Do you want to fight that badly!?"

Tesshin laughed, "Me? Fight? You must have misunderstood. I am an old and poor man at his death's door. I merely showed this young man here, a small extent of my power, is all." He pointed towards the surprised Nikolai.

Momoyo glanced at him, and her expression softened, "Yo, strong guy! Haven't seen you since this morning! Thanks for helping Kazuko. Wanna spar after I am done dealing with him?"

Tesshin cut in, "Momoyo, you know the rules, right? Third years cannot spar with second years, and besides, the young man just fought Kazuko. Give him a break."

"Tch, shut it! You made me drop my cupcake! Now you pay!" She tightened her arm muscles and broke free from Tesshin's hold. She threw a kick towards his face, only for Tesshin to grab her by the foot, "Now now, don't get too excited. You can't hit the principal. I will have you know. I can expel you at any moment without further notice."

"As if I care, this lifestyle is boring anyway!" She stepped closer towards him and grabbed him by his robes, kicking him through the shattered window and landing on the schoolyard.

Both of them put a few meters distance from each other. Momoyo cracked her neck and pointed her finger at Tesshin,

"Fight me! I can't wait!" Her eyes shone with battle intent, and nothing in the world could calm her down, only the excitement from fighting.

Tesshin looked towards Nikolai, who was watching the battle from the headmaster's office, "Haaah, Nikolai-kun, please fill-up the paper and return to your classroom. This is going to take a while. I need to give my granddaughter a small punishment." He smiled at him and turned his attention to Momoyo, "Naughty little girl."

"Really? A punishment? You wish! But I am glad you will play around with me for a while! Unlike in my childhood where I had to play chess by myself!~" Momoyo responded, really happy with his answer. Lately, no one could make her use her full power, as she was afraid of hurting them. So letting loose like this once in a while was amazing.

Fights like these were pretty common and happened at least once or twice a week.

Students already got accustomed to the squabble, and while they would have loved to watch the match, the match was not an official spar, so they couldn't just exit their classrooms during their classes like they could during the match with Nikolai.

Nikolai just silently watched the confrontation until one of them made a move and a tornado of dust spread around the schoolyard as they exchanged their moves.

'That old man sure is lively.' He turned back to his paper and contemplated on what to write.

'He did say, a preferred martial art, right? I might as well go with Systema then, as that's the heritage of our country.'

He wrote it down, glanced at the fight that was going on outside one last time, and went back to his classroom.

'His granddaughter, Momoyo, sure knows how to fight.'

Well, Nikolai planned on attending the class. He really did.

That was until he arrived in front of the door and overheard the teacher's voice talking about some Conjectures and Trigonometry. That was when his brain did a fast 180° flip. He turned around and walked away.

Unfortunately, Nikolai will have to miss the Math class due to the principal's intervention.

'Yes, unfortunately, there was nothing I could have done.' Nikolai coughed lightly as he was walking around the school instead of attending the class.

Looking around, he noticed that there were tons of classes, some of which had absolutely nothing to do with martial arts.

'Cooking class? Seems interesting! An Art class? Cool! The Math class? Not so much...'

As he was walking on, he noticed that the doors to the infirmary room were open. He peeked inside and saw Kazuko, training with twenty-kilogram dumbells in both of her hands. She woke up not long after her grandpa brought her here. He was supposed to heal her but something urgent came up so all she could do, for now, was wait.

But, Kazuko was not the type to wait and do nothing but lay down on the bed.

She wasted no second to train as that was all that was on her mind ever since she was born.

'So she woke up already. Good.' He gave those dumbells a look and couldn't help but stiffle in a laugh. 'Which infirmary has dumbells for their patients? Patients are supposed to rest in a calm and quiet environment. Or did the old man principal give them to her, because he knew she couldn't stay still?'

'Well, I am leaving. The last thing she would want to see after waking up is someone she lost to.' As he was about to leave without notice, he bumped into someone, "My bad." He silently whispered, trying not to alert Kazuko.

"Oi, watch where ya going, commoner scum!" A woman, in a maid outfit, stared into his face with a threatening gaze, "Hideo-sama wishes to enter the room, so kindly fuck off!"

Nikolai slightly raised his eyebrows at her attitude, but he was concentrating on something totally different. The maid outfit. It was an actual maid.

'Never thought I would see a maid in my life. This world is so interesting.' He got out of the way as he was planning to leave anyway, earning himself a snide remark, "Hmph! At least ya know what's good for ya!"

'This maid is starting to piss me off...' Nikolai looked at her again and burned her appearance into his memory. You could say that he had a small folder of people he would never respect or get along with inside of his head.

He added two people in there ever since coming to this world. Maro, the creepy looking pale guy, and now this annoying maid.

"Whatcha starin at!? Ah!? Still not leavin!? You maggot!" The maid got annoyed and pulled out a gun from her maid dress.

Nikolai reacted swiftly and kicked her gun away with a high kick.

"Ah!" She uttered, and before she could retaliate against him, Nikolai grabbed the back of her head and hit it against the door frame.

It created a dull sound as the impact was quite huge. Slowly, blood started streaming down her forehead. It was just a shallow cut, and it appeared that the hit wasn't enough as it only partially knocked her out. Maid's vision faltered, but she still tried to kick him.

With two chops of his hand, Nikolai hit the muscles in her thighs, making the disoriented maid stumble and fall onto the ground.

The maid still struggled, so he went for drastic measures.

He slid his hands around her neck like a snake and held her in a chokehold.

The maid tried to resist but understood that she couldn't get out of it with her power, so she reached out her hand towards her shoe and pulled out a butterfly knife from her heel, stabbing it towards him.

'A real gun and a knife? Seriously!?'

Nikolai avoided the first knife strike and then blocked the second one with his wrist.

He used one of his own hands that were busy choking her to twist her arm behind her back, making the knife fall over on the ground next to him. This time, the maid had no means of escaping and slowly lost consciousness in his arms.

'That was dangerous enough. What kind of martial arts was that? A gun and a knife. If I didn't know any better, I would have assumed she was some kind of assassin, hiding her blade like that. I had to disarm her. She was too dangerous.'

This was precisely the art of Systema. Systema was a Russian martial art.

It was a martial art that heavily depended on craftiness, a strong spirit, and a healthy body. You had to have a crafty mind to execute your moves, a strong and calm spirit. As calm as water, without a hint of anger, fear, self-pity, self-deception, and pride. You also needed to possess a healthy body to utilize all of your muscles as a lethal weapon.

You can't, under any circumstances, fight your opponent using a Systema when anger clouded your judgment. It's an incredibly dangerous martial art that could lead to your opponent's death with the slightest mistake on your part.

In Systema, everything the person does is predicated on the actions and position of his opponent. If said opponent feeds the Systema specialist a slightly different attack or even the same attack from a different angle, the response to that attack will be very different.

Nikolai hit the muscles in her legs not to destroy them but to debilitate them and switch them off temporarily. This way, the legs of his opponent no longer functioned to support the body. An accurate hit like that was no joke. She was no longer able to kick with her legs, and he had an easier time, defeating her.

"Fu-Hahaha! A magnificent display of power! This foreign commoner sure is full of surprises!" A loud and majestic voice rang in the hallway. A person appeared right behind Nikolai. He gave off the aura of a king and had white hair with an X on his forehead. The X looked like it was carved in his skin by a blade.

He was indeed Kuki Hideo! The young prince of the Kuki company.

Nikolai slowly stood up while putting the unconscious maid on one of the unoccupied beds.

Hideo seized him up and he couldn't help frown at the fact that this man was taller than him.

Ah, when was the last time he looked up at someone other than his father?

"Your show of might was incredible, commoner! In the future, if you need money, contact the Kuki company! We are looking for people with talent like you!" He gave him a small black card with address and turned his gaze away from him.

All of this commotion was, of course, heard by Kazuko who could just barely process what was going on.

"Niko-kun, Kuki-kun, and the maid who is in charge of his rickshaw...What are you all doing here?"

Nikolai rolled his eyes and replied, "Ah...I told you not to call me lik--"

"Of course! It is I, Kuki Hideo! Fu-Hahaha! Bask in my elegant and glorified image, my dear Kazuko-dono! I was spectating your battle and couldn't help but fall in love with you all over again! It was very moving! Even if you lost, I believe you put your body and soul into it, and that's all that matters!" Kuki cut Nikolai off and looked back at him, "Sorry to tell you this, foreign commoner. I am here to bask in the greatness that Kazuko-dono is! So don't disturb me any longer! You can contact us afterward!"

"I-Is that so..." Kazuko looked a bit uncomfortable, but didn't know what to tell him as he was pursuing her for quite a few months already and whenever she saw him, she had to run away or hide somewhere. Kazuko wasn't the type to just shut down someone, even if she didn't like him.

She would try to change the subject every time they talked or try not to meet with the person, which was a bit hard as he attended the same school as her.

Nikolai saw Kazuko was looking at him with a troubled expression.

He sighed and turned to Kuki, "Yo, Kuki Hideo. We were just about to go back to our classroom."

Hideo slightly frowned as he wanted to look at Kazuko a bit more, but soon enough, his expression relaxed, and his wild laugher was heard all around the hallways again, "Fu-Hahaha! Is that so? Then it appears I have bad timing! How regrettable! Well I shall grab my maid Azumi and leave! Goodbye, commoners!" He put the unconscious maid around his shoulder and ran off.

"That was...a bit weird." Nikolai commented while still gazing at Hideo's running figure.

Kazuko sighed in relief and stood up from the bed.

"Thanks for that...Kuki-kun...is a good person, but...Thanks."

"No need to thank me. If that's all, I will be on my way. You should be resting, so throw away those dumbells and lay down." He slightly bowed and walked out of the infirmary. It felt kind of weird for Nikolai to bow and be polite to people.

He felt like that starting pack that he got in the beginning changed his way of acting and talking. As if it was simulating a perfect response a person from Japan could have done at that moment.

Like for example, when he bumped into that rude maid, he instantly apologized, which was something he would have never done in the past. He also didn't immediately punch her when she was being rude.

He was changing, It was a weird feeling and he didn't quite like that.

Seeing him leave, Kazuko had a reluctant expression on her face. She extended her hand towards his leaving figure but pulled it back as she had no excuse to stop him. She felt like talking with him for a bit, but she didn't even know what they should talk about.
