To Save Or To Forsake

She flew off, leaving the Sanctuary, and slowly descended on a nearby creek. The water flowed in a gentle stream as trees surrounded it on both sides. It was quiet except for the sound of sniffling. 

Ming Yue slowly made her way towards a particularly large tree, crushing the damp grass with each step. 

Stopping beside it, she looked down to see the tree hollowed out and the Beast Tamer inside. The child was curled up, hugging her knees and crying. 

"There you are, I was looking for you."

The woman stood in front of her and knelt down, waiting for the girl to look up to her. But it was going to take more than just a few words. 

Ming Yue leaned forward, raising her hand and moving closer to her. 

The girl finally peeked up and smacked the woman's hand away. 

"They don't like me!" she angrily said. 

But that anger soon faded as shock and fear filled her eyes. 

"I... I'm a monster."
