Chapter 49

The next morning Caspian woke and he felt dread all over him as he was making love to Nadia, all he could see was Aurora's face.

He had gone through it as he saw Nadia as Aurora. He stood up and made his way to the bath chambers.

He sat in the water as he felt guilty after sleeping with Nadia, even though Aurora was fine with it didn't make it less okay to do that.

Aurora was probably waiting for his return and he wanted to tell Nadia's parents that they wanted to head back but Nadia seemed to be in good spirits and he did not want to ruin that.

Days went by and Caspian used every excuse in the book to not sleep with Nadia again, he did not feel like it and only wanted Aurora.

Today he was going hunting with Nadia's father as they needed to bond as men,

"When are you planning on having an heir to the throne."

Caspian realized that Nadia's father wanted insight into their relationship, he could have an heir to the throne with any woman but clearly, they wanted Nadia to be the one who was to conceive an heir to the throne.

"Hopefully soon."

"My daughter does seem to be tough on the outside but she is soft on the inside and I know she loves you dearly."

"I will take good care of her."

"I am glad that you said that."

They hunted for the rest of the day and when they got back at night time they went their separate ways.

When Caspian got to their chambers he found Nadia there,

"How was your day."

"Your father is a great hunter I must say."

Nadia got up and made her way in front of him and took his hands, "I am glad we came here, I want us to be always like this. I don't want to walk alone but with you Caspian. From the day that we met up until now, that is all that I wanted."

Caspian could see Nadia looking at him hopefully, "Of course Nadia."

She went into his arms and he held her.

"Take care of our daughter Caspian." Said Nadia's father,

"Of course."

"Be there for her." This time it was Nadia's mother.

Aurora made her way to her friends, she missed Caspian so much and it was making her very irrational.

She went into the servant's quarters towards her friends and she could hear murmurs from the other maids,

"She must have done something to the prince to be chosen as his concubine."

"Her beauty but that will fade away."

"He will get tired of her and he will forget about her, and she will live a lonely life."

"Aurora do you know how much we have missed you?" said Ida.

"I know I have missed you all and I always try to come to visit you all when I can, how are you all?"

"Same old, same old," Lucy replied.

"No adventures like you," Ella added.

"Trust me it's not all rainbows and sunshine, Caspian and Nadia went to her hometown."

"How do you feel about that?" Evelyn asked.

"What can I say or do, I mean Nadia is his lawful wife and we all come next."

"At least if you are with child you could seal your fate forever."

"Nadia might be with child, so that means even if we do have children they won't matter as much as Nadia's."

"Oh wow seems to be trouble everywhere," Agnes added.

"Very much so, I am an outcast with the other concubines."

"Why so?" Barbara asked.

"They feel the same way as everyone in here is saying."

"Don't listen to them, some here are just a miserable bunch." Said Agnes.

"I try not to but I won't lie that it doesn't plague my mind at times."

"Don't do that to yourself, at least you are living a better life and being attended to," Ella replied.

"I just wish we were all free from being maids."

"We can only dream," Lucy replied.

Aurora walked back to the place that she loved to be in and sat by her tree. This place was very significant to her and she remembered Elliot and got up.

When was the last time that she had seen him? It had been a while, when she reached Elliot by the stables he smiled at her,

"I never thought I would see you around here."

"I went by our tree and I thought I would come and see you."

"What do I owe this pleasure?"

"I wanted company but if you are busy, I can come back another time."

"Not at all Aurora, how have you been keeping?"

"I have lived another day so I can't complain."

"Nice way to look at your life, what happened to you, your spark is fading."

Aurora laughed at the way he had said it, "Not you too Elliot cut it out."

"I'm playing but are you really okay?"

"I can't complain as I am in a better situation than where I came from."

"You can, doesn't mean you are in a better place physically but emotionally you are not then that is worse in my opinion."

"Well, everywhere in life there are struggles."

"True, trouble in paradise?"

"Always."

"Tell me Aurora I am listening."

"Well let's just say my family background is the worst one, so I am treated like an outcast."

"What about the prince, I saw the way he grabbed your hand and left. He looked like he wanted to kill me."

"I'm sorry about that."

"It's not your fault, after all, you are the first person ever who has treated and sacrificed themselves just for me."

"Don't make me cry, Elliot."

"Is it too soon." He replied jokingly.

"Very much so, I have not prepared my fake tears."

"Have you ever been on her horse?"

"No, I have never had that luxury."

"Come, you can touch Bambi."

"Did you name her that Elliot?"

"I might have."

She went in through the gate and she was enamored by how the horse was beautiful. She touched Bambi tentatively, and when she had gotten the hang of it, she carried on stroking the horse.

"Next time when you come, I will let you climb Bambi."

"You can't take that back, Elliot."

"I won't it's a promise."

Aurora had always wanted to be on a horse and she was now afforded an opportunity and could not wait.

Aurora woke up the following morning and took a bath. After that she had her breakfast and decided to go outside so she could soak in the sun.

After leaving the palace for months she had now grown used to sitting in the sun and she loved it. Eleanor went out with her.

As they made their way to the spot she loved soaking in the sun for, she was caught off guard when she saw Caspian.

Was she dreaming? But he came closer and closer, Aurora wanted to run into his arms but her heart dropped to her stomach when she saw Caspian was holding Nadia's hand and they were smiling at each other.
