33 Chapter 33: Her missing memories

Ian just smiled and watched Maya inside the van. Maya feels annoyed and mad at him.

"Don't ever talk to me anymore. Why did you say that ?! You're annoying!" she shouted at him. Maya is on the set of one of her movie projects but she still can't forget what her manager told her. She was sitting down while her make-up artist was putting on make-up.

She angrily laid her hand on the vanity dresser in front of her. The other actress was shocked at what she did.

"Ms. Maya? Are you okay?"

"Maybe you're just stressing out because you're getting married?" one of her co-workers asked.

Ian noticed her. He then went closer to her, "Ms. Maya? Something's wrong?"

Maya looked at her and rolled her eyes, "Yes. Don't talk to me,"

"Oh, the two of you fought?" one of the actresses asked.

Maya looked at him and walked out. Ian sighed while looking at her. He was smiling when Maya was walking away from him. "How cute," he said inside his mind. Ian didn't notice that he could feel something like this towards Maya. He had been falling for her day by day. He gets angry when Maya cries, when she's hurt, it hurts him too.

Zoe was startled by the smell of delicious food. She was smelling it when her eyes closed. She opens her eyes and gets up. Doctor Zack was looking at her as she was still smelling the food.

"Let's eat," Zoe was surprised when she saw Zack in front of the door. She then averted her eyes from him and stood. She was walking towards Zack when she suddenly slipped. Zoe is on the floor now because she slipped. Her head was hit on the floor and that causes her to lose consciousness.

Zack was looking at her right now as she was laying on the hospital bed. It's an hour, but she hasn't woken up yet. While Zoe was asleep and unconscious, she saw a man in front of her. She frowned while looking at the man.

The man was drunk while looking at her. She was about to go when the man stops her and grabs her towards him. She gulped and then suddenly, the man kissed him.

Everything is clear to Zoe now. She already knows everything. She already remembers everything that happened to her. She folded her fists as she remembered that Kevin's mother had ordered to kill her.

As she opens her eyes, tears slowly fell.

"Are you okay? Zoe?" she looked at the doctor and gets up.

"What are you feeling right now? Zoe?" he asked again, but Zoe was looking at him.

"I-- I remember everything, Doc," she utters. Zack's eyes widened as he heard that. He gulped while looking at her.

"You remember everything?" she nods her head.

"I'm Gaia. I'm not Zoe,"

The day after that, they became uncomfortable with each other. Gaia remembers everything. Zack went to the hospital as always he does. Gaia was thinking about going to that waiter where they eat. She was outside when she saw that waiter.

Edwin was serving food to the customers when he saw Gaia outside, looking at him.

"I'll be back in a minute," he then went out.

Gaia was looking at him as she clearly remembers he said that he knows her. "Do you really know me that day?" Edwin was confused.

"What are you talking about?"

"The day I came here, you said you know me and everybody knows me too,"

Edwin was looking at her, "Ah, yes. Didn't you remember? You're dead, Ms. Gaia. The news says it. Are you Ms. Gaia or-"

"Dead?" Edwin then took his phone and Gaia saw the news article about her death. She can't believe what's she reading. She was shaking her head and can't accept the article written about her.

"Did the doctor tell you about this?" he asked.

Gaia frowned, "What? Who are you talking about?"

"That doctor. The one who's with you that day. He said I shouldn't tell you,"

Gaia was walking towards the doctor's office. Her knees were feeling weak as she takes a step. She trusted that doctor, but he secretly hid her real identity just to satisfy his needs.

Zack was busy typing at his laptop as he was encoding a medical report on his patient. The door opens and he was just looking at his laptop, not paying attention.

"You can come back later, Ma'am. I'm busy at the moment-" he stops and raised his head. He then saw Gaia was tearing up in front of him. He stood and went closer to her.

"Zoe? What happened?" he asked and was about to touch her when she avoided it. She was looking at him with anger in her eyes.

"Why? Why didn't you tell me the truth about my identity? Why did you keep it yourself!" she shouted. Zack was surprised. He can't even his mouth because she says are all true. He can't lie anymore.

He sighed," I'm sorry. I just did that for-"

"For yourself. You just did that for yourself, doc"

Gaia couldn't stop the tears dripping from her eyes. It hurts her that she knows. She trusted that doctor so much. She even likes him because of his kindness.

"I thought you're a good person, Doc. But it turns out, you're not," she utters while wiping her tears. She then sighed and fixed herself.

"But, thank you for helping me out. I'm thankful to you. I shouldn't bother you anymore doc. I'll get going now," she said and was about to went out when he speaks.

"Then are you going back to him?" he asked.

Gaia looks at him, "Yes. I will,"

Zack laughs at her, "He's getting married, Gaia,"

Gaia was speechless for a moment. "What? Why? Are you lying right now?"

Zack shook his head, "No. I'm not lying. Here, take a look," Gaia was looking at the photo of Kevin and Maya.

"Officially engage?" she said while reading the news.

She can't explain what she really feels at this moment. She was hurt, but there's a part of her that she will go back and talk to Kevin. She wanted to explain and tell him that she remembers everything. SHe'stopping herself from crying. She looks at Zack.

"I still wanted to go back," she said.

"Gaia, you're hurting yourself," he stops her.

"I wanted to talk to him, Doc,"

Zack sighed, "Okay,"

Gaia bowed her head and left the doctor. She was walking and waiting for a cab. As she was waiting for a cab she remembers the news about Kevin and Maya. It makes her tear up.

"I should have held onto him that night. I should have told him that I want him. I should have-" a thunder was the reason to stop Gaia in her thoughts. She looks up and sees the shady sky.

"It looks like it's going to rain," she said in a low tone as she walked. As she started walking, the rain started to pour. She closed her eyes, raising her head as she was letting the raindrops to her face.

It makes her relax.

Heavy rain caught up with Dexter while he was driving. He was going to look after Gaia. He wanted to make sure she's okay and fine. Dexter stared at the road because the rain was so heavy that he could not see the road clearly. He almost ran over a woman because it suddenly passed by. He stopped the car in perfect timing.

His chest throbbed loudly as he looked at the woman in front of his car.

"That was close," he utters as he holds his chest. The woman suddenly fell in front of his car.

"Did I hit her?" he asked nervously at himself. He then went out of the car with his umbrella.

"Miss, Are you-"

"Gaia?" he quickly takes her inside the car and went straight to the hospital nearby.

Zack was inside his office when an emergency came. He went out and go to the emergency room.

"Where's the patient?" the nurse pointed to where Gaia was. Zack stopped as he saw Gaia. He then went closer to her.

"Help her doc. Save her!" Dexter said to Zack.

"Who are you?" he asked.

"I'm her friend,"

Zack checks Gaia and he found out that she just collapse because she didn't eat anything today. He sighed in relief as he looks at her.

"She's fine now. She just collapses because she hadn't eaten anything," Dexter nodded and went closer to her.

"That's a relief then," he was smiling when looking at Gaia. "I'm worried to death," he utters inside his mind.

After a few minutes. Gaia opens her eyes and saw Dexter beside her. She then reached his hands, "Take me home, Sir Dexter," she said which causes Dexter surprised. The way Gaia holds him, it looks like she was scared.

"Okay. We will go back,"

Dexter and Gaia were inside the car. Gaia was silent as she remembers she even threat Dexter not to come near her, but now, Dexter was the one who helped her. She's embarrassed.

"Are you okay?" Dexter asked her.

"I mean, do you remember me now?" he added.

"Yes. I remember everything now,"
