12 Chapter 12: Finding for that Girl

I was looking at Mr. Kevin. He's a different person whom I used to know. The cold and arrogant person I know is gone. He's a different person now. The one I was with, is not the Kevin I knew before.

We had a good time especially for me. I looked at him and suddenly, Maya went closer to us.

"Gaia, can I talk to you for a moment?" she said and I nod and walked.

We were away from where Kevin is. I looked at her with an empty expression. "What is it?" I asked her.

She scoffed. "How can you date him? He's a CEO and you're just a teacher! How can you meet someone like him? I was supposed to be with him right now. Gaia, break up with him right now and let me had time with him," she said and I just laughed at what she said.

"Are you sure what are you saying right now? You look so desperate, Maya," I teasingly utter.

"I know you'll say this. You're so selfish, Gaia. Like before until now, you're still the same, and you will never change. I know you just stay with him to get his money, right?" I was surprised and offended by what she said to me.

"How can you say that to me?" I asked her.

"Because that is your real attitude. You were always close to rich people to get their money," she says.

"I don't care what are you saying about me. The important thing is that I know myself that I'm not like the kind of person you're saying," I said and walked, but she pulled my hair and slaps me.

The people gasped while looking at me.

"Yes, you're a gold digger, Gaia. You're always like this, right before you're with him. You harass a student to get his money, right?" she said and all people were shocked to hear it. I looked around and they were whispering while looking at me. I saw Mr. Kevin was looking at me while he was holding his glass. I was trembling and was about to run when he stops me.

"Hey, Ms. Tan," I stopped and looked at him. My eyes were about to teared up. He then walked closer to me while smiling. I feel like everything went slow-mo when he was walking.

I looked down as he was in front of me, but he holds my face using and looked at me. "Hey, what are you doing here? I was looking all over for you," he utters with a broad smile on his face.

"Mr. Kevin, you heard what I say right? She's a gold digger, she's with you because of your money," Maya said to him. Kevin looked at her.

"You're wrong, she's not that type of person and I know what type of person she is. And by the way. Liste everyone, I would like all of you to meet my Finance. However messes with her, must be ready for the consequences. If you'll excuse us, Ms. Maya," he said and we walked while he was holding my hands. I heard all the people while gossiping while we're walking in the center. I could feel their eyes were on us.

I was looking down when we reached our room. "I'm sorry about that, Mr. Kevin," I said without even looking at him. He let go of my hand while standing in front of me.

"Don't worry, I don't believe what she said earlier. And I will forget all the things I heard back there," he utters and it makes me cry. My eyes drop from my eyes while he said that. He then walked towards the bed.

I wiped my tears and looked at him. "Why? Why is he being kind to me? He's making me fall for him," I said inside my head.

"Why are staring at me?" he asked me and I went back to my senses. I looked at him and I was stunned. He was smiling at me. All I can see is his white teeth that shine while looking at me.

"Ms. Tan, is there any problem?" I went back to reality and nod my head. I walked to the bathroom and locked the door. My eyes went teary as the time I was inside. I was leaning in the door as I was sobbing. I cover my mouth for him not to hear me.

"Why is she so mean to me? We just met, but she never changed. She was never good to me. She always humiliates me in front of other people and I feel like I wasn't her sister,"

I went outside the bathroom and placed my bed on the floor. I was arranging it as Mr. Kevin talks.

"You can sleep here," he said and taps on the bed. My eyes widened.

"What? What do you mean, Sir?" I asked.

"You can sleep here in the bed. The bed is too big for me and I know the floor is cold you might get cold," he said.

"Ah, I'm fine here, Sir. I can take care of myself," I said and he looked at me. I smiled at him.

"Okay, if that's what you want. I was just--" he looked away.

"Never mind, you can sleep where you want to," he said and turns off the lamp beside him.

"Good night, Mr. Kevin," I said and closes my eyes.

Kevin's POV

I looked at her while she said that. I exhale and lean my head on the headboard.

Earlier...

I looked at her while her sister was humiliating her. As she saw me, she then looked down. I couldn't take this and I stood walking towards her. Every time she's in trouble, I always saved her. I loved saving her. I want to protect her. I wanted to protect her at all costs.

She's always been happy and cheerful in front of me, but I never knew she had this sad past and she's not on good terms with her sister just like how my mom and I.

I went to my study table and open my laptop. I searched on the internet about her sister. I found a lot of articles was written about her. "She's an actress. Her mom is Aliah Tan who gets remarried to a wealthy man from abroad," I said while reading the article. I was looking and scrolling down onto the article, but I never saw Gaia.

"How could it be. She's not here," I keep looking at the screen, but I never see her. I began to search for her name and found one article about her.

"The Teacher who harasses the son of the owner of the school," I was surprised while reading the article. I saw the video clip and play it.

It was just a short video clip and then people believe that she harasses the student without having her statement. I sighed while reading the article. I called Mr. Anthon.

"Mr. Kevin, what is it?"

"I want you to investigate something,"

"What is it about, Sir?" he asked.

"I want you to find out what really happened to Ms. Tan's previous job. She's a teacher, I want you to look for a witness that can tell what happened on that day she was suspended," I said to him.

"Yes, Sir. I will,"

"Thank you so much,"

It was morning. I stayed all night as I was searching for something. I found all the details I was looking for. I saw her yawning. She then looked at the bed and frowned when she didn't see me.

"Are you looking for me?" she then turns her back and saw me.

"Sir, how did you. I mean. Did you get up so early?" she asked and stood up.

"I stayed all night," she then looked at me.

"Yes? You stayed all night?"

"Mm,"

"Why?"

"I just need to finish something,"

"Ah I see," she then began to fold everything in the bed.

"Are we going home now, Mr. Kevin? I should make a call to Mr. Antho-"

"He's on his way here,"

"Ah, Okay. I just get our things ready then," she said and packed the things. I never knew all those bad things that happened to her and I was so mean to her. She was packing all her stuff and went out, but there's something drop from her bag. I went to take a look at it and my eyes widened as I was looking at it.

"No way," I said and I was about to take the photo when someone took it.

"I'm sorry, Sir. I think I dropped this," she said and puts it in her pocket.

"I--"

"What is it, Sir?"

"Nothing. Just continue what you're doing," I said and she nodded.

I was still thinking about the photo I saw. I think she's very familiar. "Is she the girl I was looking for? How could it be? I need to ask her myself, but how? How can I?"

"What if I'm wrong again?"
