11 Chapter 11: A person who's always by her side

Kevin's POV

"Hey, Ms. Tan. Are you okay?" Mr. Kevin asked me and I looked at him and smiles.

"No, I'm not. Why life is so hard?" I said while tearing up.

"Why?"

"I want to go back where I belong," she said and I was surprised to hear it from her.

I'm still looking at her now. I couldn't take my eyes off her. I sighed and drank the wine.

"Why? Where are you from?" I asked her, but she was so drunk. She leaned her head on the couch she was sitting on as she closed her eyes. I chuckle as I grin at her.

Suddenly her eyes widened and she suddenly stood up on the couch.

"Ms. Tan, what are you doing?" I asked her. She looked at me and smiles.

"Let's dance, Mr. Kevin," she utters and started to dance without music.

I laughed as I looked at her. The strength of the wine she drank hit her so hard. I just laughed when she suddenly approached me while dancing. Time seemed to slow down as I stared at her. Everything went slow-mo.

"Mr. Kevin, let's dance," she said and pulled me upright.

"No, no. I don't know how to dance," I uttered but she pulled me upright.

"Come on, Mr. Kevin," she said smiling as he looked at me. I stood up and she started to grin at me. "Dance like this, Sir," she said and started dancing. I was looking at her.

"Careful," I uttered as she was about to fall, but I catch her. I hold her waist and she looks at me.

She smiles and said. "You're so handsome, Sir. You're a good person," she said and I was stopped while looking at her.

She started to tear up. I don't know how to comfort someone. I just pat her back and put her down on the sofa. She was still crying. I looked at her.

"Hey, can you please stop crying already?" I said and she looked at me. She was pouting her lips as she was looking at me.

"Can you just let me cry for today?" she sobbingly utters while looking at me. I sighed and looked at her.

As I was looking at her, I don't know but I suddenly pulled her closer to me and I immediately closed my eyes and slowly pulled her face closer to mine.

I kissed her. I don't know how and why did I do that, but I do that to make her stop. She was still crying while I was kissing her. After a minute, I slowly pull myself away from her.

"That's right, stop crying now," I said, but she looked at me and pulled me towards him. She was kissing me. I closed my eyes and I don't care what could happen next. She then stops as she was asleep while she was on top of me.

I looked at her and what I noticed is the scar on her neck. I was looking at her as I remember someone who had that too. I was carrying her and I put her on the bed. I put a blanket on her and went to the sofa. I was sitting on the sofa as I was still thinking about that girl from 10 years ago.

10 years ago...

I was kidnapped and I was with a girl too. We were both locked up in a dark room. I was tied up too, but that girl was slowly untying her tie and so after she frees herself, she looked at me and still smiles.

"Don't worry, I'll help you. Just be quiet, okay?" I nodded my head while looking at her. She began to untie the rope tied to my hands, but unfortunately, a man saw her. A man saw her helping me.

"Hey, what are you doing?" she looked at the man coming towards us, but she still continues untying me.

"What are you doing?" I asked her, but all she does is smile.

The man suddenly put a rope on her neck and started to kill her with the rope around her neck. The man tightened the rope around her neck. She was coughing as she was catching some air to breathe. Slowly I removed the leash on my hand so I could do something and help her.

"Rodulf, that's enough," shouted a woman who I couldn't see the face because it was covered with her hat. The man immediately released the girl who he was about to kill.

She sighed as she was catching her breath. She looked at me. I didn't even do anything for her. I am the man, I must be the strong to both of us, but I am still this coward.

It's almost dawn when she holds my hands. "We will go out now, trust me," she said and started to walk slowly. The man who's looking after us is asleep now. We were walking, but all I can see is the red mark on her neck caused by that rope earlier.

We were outside the house when someone shouts.

"Where are the kids?!!" shouted one of the staff inside and we immediately ran out of that area. I don't know where I am. All I know is we ran so those people wouldn't catch up with us. She was still holding my hands while we're running.

We stopped while panting. We are in front of a house.

"This is our house, where do you live?" she asked me.

"There," I once pointed to a large house.

"Your house is 3 times bigger than ours," she said.

"Friends?" she said as she held out her hand towards me. I smiled and immediately reached for her hand.

Since that day, we have become friends. But we suddenly left that place when daddy died, so I could not say goodbye to that girl. She was the first friend I have. I'm still thinking about her.

And that's why I dated Venus. She said she was that kid, but I later figure out that she wasn't. She's just lying so that her dad would inherit the company to her.

That's how I broke with her as I was always looking for that kid after these years.

I looked at Gaia who's now sleeping in the bed. "I hope she's the one I'm looking for," I uttered inside my head as I was looking at her.

It was morning when I feel the sun's rays hit my face. I open my eyes and saw Ms. Tan was still in bed. I stood up and looked at my wristwatch. I went to the bathroom and washed my face. I went out after and headed down.

I went to the cafe inside the resort and tell the staff to clean my room. I was drinking my coffee when someone sits in front of me. I just give him a cold gaze and she smiles at me.

"Hi, I'm Maya, by the way. What about you, I heard you're the CEO of the--" I saw Ms. Tan walking.

"Ms. Tan," I called her and she looks at me and the woman I was with. She just bows her head and runs back upstairs. I was frowning while looking in her direction.

"Excuse me, I'm a Tan. Who are you calling?" she asked me. I looked at her with this cold face of mine.

"I'm referring to my--" I didn't finish what I was about to say when Ms. Tan was back.

"Maya, you're here," I looked at her while narrowing my eyes.

"Gaia, it's you. Is he referring to you earlier?" the woman asked her. She looked at me and smiles.

"I thought you're alone here having a vacation, but you're here with a company? And what's that with your dress?" the woman asked her.

She smiled. "Yes, I am here having a vacation," she said.

"Then, who's this man in front of me? Are you two having a--"

"She's my girlfriend, we're having a vacation here together," I uttered and looked at her. I stood up and went closer to her.

"I thought you're still sleeping," I said and pinches her cheeks.

"If you'll excuse us," I said and we both hold our hands and we walked out.

We were outside as she let go of my hand. She was looking down as I looked at her.

"Who was that?" I asked and she looked at me.

"Just someone I know," she said, but I know it was her sister.

"She's you're sister, right?" I asked her and she was surprised when she looked at me.

"H-How did you--"

"She told me she's a Tan too," she nods and looks at the beach.

We were staring at the beach as my phone vibrates.

"Yes, hello?"

"Sir, the meeting is canceled. Mr. Richard is in the hospital right now. Should I go there to pick you up?" Mr. Anthon said. I was looking at Ms. Tan as she was playing with the water on the beach.

"No, I also want to have a relaxed and chill day. Pick us up tomorrow morning," I said and ended the call.

"Sir, who was that?" she asked.

"It's Anthon. He said the meeting is canceled," she looked at me.

"Then, we should go back now," she said and shakes my head.

"No, let's just have some fun right now," I said.

"Really? How did you become so considerate, Sir?" she jokingly asked me.

"It's just for me, not you," she nods her head teasingly.

"Okay, if you say so,"

We both chuckled...

And right now, I feel like she's interesting. I want to know her more.
