1 Chapter 1 Maid For Hire

I browse through job listings, sighing at each job; none of them were live-in maid jobs.

"Ugh, I can't believe you were right Dali..." She lets out a chuckle "See I told you no one is looking for a maid! Why do you even like this job so much?"

I look at her "Because I like helping people." I said nothing else, that was my true answer, I loved helping people. I guess it was natural to me since I was the eldest of four sisters, but it was also a dream job of mines "Dude are you even sure you wanna commit to this job? You gotta clean up after people and shit.. doesn't that make you uncomfortable?" I stay silent, continuing to look through the listings "Can you stop bugging her? She wants to be a maid what's the problem?" From the other room echos the voice of Nia, my childhood friend "Ugh fine. I just think it's weird." Nia scoffs at her comment "You're the embodiment of weird." I laugh feeling a little better from her comment. I still had a sinking feeling in my stomach, I just got fired from my lousy day job serving coffee to fast pace business people who get paid more than what I make in a month. I was free, free to do whatever I wanted, and what I wanted was to finally pursue my dream job of being a maid. Sure it was a strange thing to dream about but I did, and I was content with it. A couple of days past and no luck, my due day for my rent was getting closer and money was not looking good. I sit down on the cold park bench completely involved in my thoughts, *what was I gonna do?* Suddenly, a bright, red ball hits my shoe, making me snap out of my stampeding thoughts. "o-oh! I'm sorry!" The slightly younger light blued haired boy smiles at me, his cheeks rosy from the cold. "Oh, you're fine!" I pick up the ball handing it to him "Here you go. I was just thinking anyway." "About what?" He smiles lightly taking the ball from my hands, oddly he wasn't wearing mittens. I hastily answer, should I tell a stranger about my horrible luck in life? "Well, I just..." I trail off "I can't seem to find a maid job anywhere! Maybe it's because this town is so small... Everyone knows everyone and has their maid I guess.."

He nods "Yeah. That makes sense. But then again I won't be in town that much." I turn my head in confusion "What do you mean?"

"I mean I live off the city. I rarely come to town, only when I have to buy something or hang out at the park." My eyes widen at his words, he couldn't be serious, how could he live off the city when there nothing but forest?

"Do you live in the forest then?" He nods "Yeah! It's pretty fun actually." He smiles at me, I sit there stunned and confused. He fixes his dark red beanie and smiles again "You look very confused, it's kinda cute!" I blush "UHM I-" I stutter, trying to find the right words to respond to his statement "t-thank you.." the wind blows through my hair causing me to shake from the cold, my cheeks still flushed. I get up trying to escape the situation before It could get even more awkward

"Well thank you for listening to my mess. Maybe I'll find a maid job in the next town or something." I stand up about to leave "Wait!" I turn around "What I was about to say was that maybe I could help you get that maid job!"

I widen my eyes at him "Really? How?" He chuckles "By working for me! Well, I gotta see if Hyun is ok with that.." Was this my lucky day? Right before I was going to live on the streets I finally get a job. And not just an ordinary job my dream job! "You don't live by yourself? And are you talking about the forest house?" He nods "No. And it's not a 'House' it's a mansion!" I couldn't believe that there were mansions out in the woods, yet I've never been in the woods even though I've been living here for years now, there was something off about the woods that just pulled me away from it. "WHAT? A mansion? And you live with this Hyun guys right?" He giggles and pulls down his hat again "I live with two other guys as well. But don't worry it's a big mansion so there's plenty of space!" Four guys living in a big mansion out in the middle of the woods? My heart starts pounding, maybe it was because I was finally gonna get my dream job or maybe it was because I had a bad feeling about this. "So am I live-in maid? What's the pay like? How many days do I work?" He puts his hands out signaling me to slow down "Listen. I don't handle that kind of stuff, hyun does but I can give you our house number and you can talk to him about that stuff!" He smiles, he was strangely innocent in the way he spoke about this "o-oh okay. Um, thanks!" He goes into his pocket getting out his phone "Can I have your number?" He lightly blushes at the question, I answer back trying not to completely freeze up "s-sure." We exchange numbers as the sunsets "Thanks! I'll be sure to let hyun know about you and call you sometime this week." He smiles at me, I nod "Well I gotta go. It's almost past my curfew. It was nice meeting you!"

He turns away I noticed something peaking out though his long jacket, it looked fuzzy and white, "Hey! Excuse me!" He turns around to me "Yes?" I stutter "What's your name?"

He smiles "Mizuwokakeru. But you can call me Mizu!" He smiles and starts to walk through the snowy pavement. I look at the time, it was 7 pm, I realized that the bus to my apartment complex just ran through while I was chatting, I mentally kick myself knowing I had to call one of my best friends to pick me up again. I sigh as I walk around to the designated spot and start to think to myself, if what this guy says is true then I would be living in a mansion in the middle of the woods with four strangers, is it worth it? What if they're vampires?

Or worse rogue vampires. I shiver at the thought, ever since that day I saw a rogue vampire attack my hometown I've been morbidly curious about vampire culture and such, I know it's dangerous and that's why I try not to dwell too much on it but still. "Get in loser." I look up, it was daila in her old white pick-up truck, I get in still completely dazed by my last thought."What were you doing at the park at this hour anyway?" I sigh "I was getting my new job." She snarky comments "as a prostitute?" I playfully hit her "No you idiot! I was talking to this guy about becoming his maid." She stops at the red light turning in her turn signals "Is he rich?" "I don't know yet." She sighs "If he's not rich then jet out of there." I roll my eyes "Yeah yeah ok." I lean on to the door, things were looking up, even though half of me was worried about the outcome.
