20 Military Reaction

Haku stood in his penthouse, dressed in his uniform and admiring himself in the mirror. "Hmm," he thought to himself, wondering why his body was so 'perfect'.

Beneath his black shirt, tailored to fit his body, was a perfect waistline.

His shiny, deep black hair resembled the night sky, while his big, golden eyes had beautiful long lashes. His rosy lips were dazzling, and his chin line and facial features were striking. His slender white neck was exposed due to his ponytail hairstyle.

If he claimed to be a boy, people would laugh, assuming he was joking or trying to pull an April Fool's prank.

"I am in love with myself," he thought, becoming increasingly narcissistic.

He sat on the couch, sipping coffee, still wearing his uniform without the blazer. Haku had heard Jarvis' reports about the company's situation after his debut with Flying Magic.

Yuki Enterprise had soared to the top of the stock exchange and was steadily rising. The CAD orders for Flight Magic had reached hundreds of millions of dollars as every country wanted it. Despite its recent inception, the company had gone global.

As Haku drank from his cup, he suddenly felt a surge of psion.

[Sir, our system has been hacked by something,] Jarvis reported.

Haku's eyes widened in surprise. "What do you mean? You were pushed back?" he asked.

Jarvis responded, [Yes, the electricity behind our system is running as if manipulated by some kind of power. My conclusion: this is magic.]

Haku narrowed his eyes, realizing that there must be a magician who can manipulate electronics.

He activated his [elemental sight], an ability that could enter the information dimension without having to move his consciousness. With this power, he could detect magic on even a small scale and scan every piece of information related to the object he sees. And with [elemental sight], no one can escape from him.

He canceled the magic with [Gram Dispersion], but then he widened his [elemental sight] to scan the entire Tokyo area in search of the user who had cast the spell. However, he found nothing.

He widened his "eyes" to scan the entire Kanto region, and finally, he detected something.

"Oh, so the military is starting to move," Haku muttered.

He found the owner of the spell. It was a woman, around 25 years old, located in Tsuchiura, Ibaraki Prefecture. She was stationed at the military headquarters belonging to the independent Battalion 101.

Haku's feelings were mixed with anger and amazement. It was technically impossible for a hacker to overwhelm Jarvis. But his weakness was that he could not use magic to attack.

This magic user was Jarvis's natural enemy, and Haku knew he had to take action before it was too late. He couldn't let this bunch of shit get away.

"I'm not interested in their secrets; it would make me dizzy to know the real secret. What's the point of knowing? I don't give a damn about the country's military affairs. Since they made a ruckus at me in the morning, let's make them dizzy too."

"Show me information about the 101st Battalion," I said as holograms appeared one after another, containing complete information and all their officially registered important members.

[Second Lieutenant Fujibayashi Kyouko is an officer who tries to hack with her magic. She's an interesting person,] Jarvis made an analysis.

"Electron Sorceress. A nickname that really fits. Make sure we make a good impression with her."

Still looking at the information dimension, I targeted the room that looked like the control room, where the commander was.

I started targeting them, except for Fujibayashi Kyouko, because I wanted to. Of course, I did not have a crush on her, but she needed to work for me.

"Report!" Kyouko, with a military bearing, announced as she sat in front of her computer screen. "I failed to hack the system, and then my magic was canceled altogether."

Her colleague looked surprised. It was the first time someone had managed to thwart her attempts to use her special magic to manipulate electricity and combine it with her hacking abilities.

Every officer and commander who heard the news widened their eyes in disbelief. Someone had immobilized Second Lieutenant Fujibayashi and then removed her magic - a testament to the tight security and skilled personnel of Yuki Enterprise, they thought.

Little did they know that the company had no actual employees.

General Saeki adjusted her glasses as she stared at the large screen displaying Yuki Enterprise's headquarters. "Canceled? Gram Dispersion huh? Is Special Officer Ooguro involved?" she asked in a commanding voice.

Major Kazama, standing beside her, shook his head. "No, General. I have confirmed that Special Officer Ooguro is not involved." General Saeki furrowed her brows at the news. "So they have magicians who can use that magic as well as Special Officer Ooguro's level."

After receiving news about the flying magic launched by Yuki Magitech, the 101st Independent Magic Battalion swiftly gathered information using Second Lieutenant Fujibayashi Kyouko's special ability.

"Send a message to Special Officer Ooguro," General Saeki ordered without hesitation, assigning the mission to their flagship card.

But then, the control room was abuzz. The screen flickered and then, to everyone's surprise, a cute avatar with bunny-like features appeared.

[Hello, everyone!] the avatar exclaimed in a high-pitched voice. [I hope you're not disturbing me because I just put on my makeup and I'm feeling fabulous!]

The control room fell silent as everyone took in the sight of the adorable avatar with a ribbon in her hair.

"Excuse me," General Saeki finally spoke up, trying to sound authoritative. "Who are you and how did you get into our system?"

[What a bunch of hypocrites ~] The avatar giggled. [Oh, just call me Ruri-chan! I hacked into your system, of course. It was so easy, it's almost embarrassing.]

The general's eyes narrowed. "You think this is a joke?"

Ruri-chan's smile faded into a more serious expression. [No, not at all. In fact, I have a warning for you all. If you don't stop snooping around where you don't belong, things could get very chilly for you.]

At that moment, Ruri-chan's smile faded into a cold, sinister expression. Everyone except Kyouko suddenly found themselves in a field of ice. With every breath, they could see dew coming out of their mouths as if they were in reality.

Slowly, the ice moved from their feet and spread over their bodies. "Ugh! It's cold!" someone shouted.

"What's happening!?" General Saeki widened her eyes, trying to understand what was going on. Was it Mental-Interference magic?

They could feel the cold piercing their skin. When the ice had covered them completely, their condition returned to normal, but the incident repeated itself for five hours, even though outside the illusion, it lasted only five minutes.

When the magic finally ended, they fell to their knees, shivering from hypothermia and mentally disoriented.

General Saeki looked at the screen, breathing heavily, but Ruri-chan (Jarvis) was nowhere to be found, only a cute emoji can be found.

After class, Haku still had to go on patrol because the club recruitment event wasn't over yet.

This time, he decided to patrol a bit away from the crowd and watch from afar. He knew it would not be a good idea to show his face to those senpais.

So far, he had not faced incidents similar to the kendo and kenjutsu clubs.

The atmosphere was quite peaceful, even though he sometimes had to hide from the sisters, who were hungry for new members.

Haku thought to himself, "What a nice day. But seriously, who takes pictures of butts? That's just weird."

After hearing that, Haku saw three girls wearing club clothes spying on Tatsuya using binoculars. Haku thought to himself, "Well, well, well, what do we have here? Looks like we've got some amateur spies on our hands. This should be interesting."

"Is this the police? Yeah, I want to report a stalker."

Honoka and Eimi shouted while turning around with red faces. While Shizuku just sighed with an impatient expression.

"N-No! This is a misunderstanding! We are not stalkers!"

Haku thought to himself, "Yeah, right. And I'm not a ninja." Haku couldn't help but chuckle at their embarrassment.

"Hu-hu-hu... We're spying—I mean, looking at the sights of the school."

The petite, red-haired student spoke proudly. What's wrong with her, Haku thought.

"I want to go home and die." Pfft! Ah. The one who said that was Kitayama Shizuku. But please don't die.

Honoka asked as if Haku were a murder suspect. But he just carried the student on his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

The three of them shook their heads together; it was cute.

"No, Yuki. We thought, 'If Tatsuya-san becomes the target of other students,'"

Shizuku explained their motives.

Haku's eyes drifted to the red-haired girl, her face shining with pride. He didn't need a yes or no answer because of that. Honoka and Shizuku lowered their heads in embarrassment.

I sighed. "Can you tell me more and show me the photos you took?" They immediately gave me their terminal, and for some reason, I felt like a police officer interrogating them.

Wait, I am.

The photo is of a student wearing glasses, but I can't see his face. What made me grin were the bracelets in three colors.

So Blanche has made their move. If they attacked Tatsuya like that, it would most likely be due to his pseudo-cast-jamming.

Amy was impressed, with her mouth hanging open. "Wow! She disappears that fast! Who is that hot girl?"

Honoka and Shizuku made awkward faces and then sighed like they were failures as women.

Shizuku sigh then said. "That's Yuki Haku from 1E, and he's a boy."
