97 Dobby

Matthew approached the door to Harry's room as he heard voices inside, "Harry Potter mustn't be angry with Dobby. Dobby did it for the best —"

"Have you been stopping my letters?" asked Harry with anger in his voice.

"Dobby has them here, sir," replied Dobby a bit awkward.

"Harry Potter will have them, sir, if he gives Dobby his word that he will not return to Hogwarts. Ah, sir, this is a danger you must not face! Say you won't go back, sir!" asked Dobby hopefully.

'Oh I have to interfere now or Mom will end up full of Pudding.' Thought Matthew as he opened the door.

"No," said Harry angrily. "Give me my friends' letters!"

"So here you are Harry. Happy twelfth Birthday." Greeted Matthew as he just saw how Harry snatched the Letters from Dobby's hands and was shocked about the Newcomer, "Oh you have another Visitor?"

He entered a small bedroom with barely any furniture inside. Basically, all Harry had were a bed, a desk, and a wooden wardrobe. On the Door were multiple locks that could be only opened from outside, luckily they weren't locked.

"Matthew, how are you here?" asked Harry slightly confused, while Dobby stared at the Newcomer warily. Dobby was less than three feet tall, with spindly arms and legs and oversized head and dark eyes. He had pointed, bat-like ears and a squeaky voice. All he wore was an old Pillowcase.

"Oh, my Father is currently looking for a new supplier for the Drills he needs in his Company. And the Company Grunnings that your Uncle works for is one of the possible contractors for that. So here we are at Dinner with your relatives." Explained Matthew Casually, "Didn't they even mention our last name to you? But more importantly who is your guest?"

"The Mason's are your parents—" asked Harry a bit shocked before getting back on track, "Ah, that is Dobby the House-elf. He is the reason why I've gotten no Letter's the whole Summer. He doesn't want me to return to Hogwarts because there will be some kind of Danger there, he can't talk about."

"So that's how it is. Nice to meet you Dobby. I am Matthew." Introduced Matthew himself as he stretched out his hand to the small creature.

"Even the friends of the great Harry Potter are so nice to Dobby and treat him like an equal." Squeaked the Elf with tears as he shook Matthew's hand after staring at it for a few seconds, "Nice to meet you, sir."

"Please calm down Dobby." Said Matthew, "It is just common sense to treat everyone equally and polite. But I have already got a good idea about what kind of family you come to. So Harry shouldn't return to Hogwarts because he won't be safe there"

"Yes, that's why the great Harry Potter can't return to Hogwarts. Something really dangerous will be happening there." Said Dobby.

"Won't the other Students also be in danger?" asked Matthew.

"Yes." Replied Dobby with dropped ears.

"And you don't warn them?" asked Matthew.

"I can't or I already have to punish myself. If I warned every student I would have to die." Said Dobby with a sad tone.

"I see. But Dobby there is another problem. Harry won't be safe outside of Hogwarts. Voldemort is still alive and he is after Harry. If he doesn't return to the Safety of the Wards in Hogwarts it is only a matter of time before he is found and killed." Said Matthew while the elf shrieked as he heard Voldemort s name.

"What the Dark Lord is still alive." Asked Dobby with teary eyes.

"Yes, and Harry will only be able to survive if he learns to fight and becomes a fully educated Wizard. So he will need to return to Hogwarts. There may be some Danger next year but the Danger outside of the Castle is far greater. Dumbledore, the wards, and the teachers will be able to protect him there. Here he is far less safe." Reasoned Matthew.

"You are right sir. Please great Harry Potter sir. Be careful in Hogwarts. The Danger is really great. So be extra careful. Say that you will be careful." Demanded the Elf who was taking the whole argument better than expected, he seemed rather focused on Harry's safety.

'Would he imprison Harry somewhere secretly like a mad stalker if he believed that everywhere was dangerous for him.' mused Matthew as he watched the elf.

"Yes, I will try to stay out of trouble." Replied Harry who followed the discussion a bit baffled.

"Okay. Dobby will now return. He hopes he will see both of you again one day. And stay safe!" finished the elf a bit teary and unsure if he did the right thing.

"Take care Dobby. We will try to find a way to help you." Said Matthew as he knew the elf would be free by the end of the year. Maybe he would help a bit out, but Dobby was a nice guy and a great ally to have.

"Bye Dobby. And thank you for warning me." Said Harry as they watched the small elf vanish in thin air.

"Oh right! Here Harry. Happy Birthday again." Said Matthew as he handed the boy a packed Broom polishing set as a gift for his Birthday.

"Thank you, Matthew. I thought all of you forgot me over the Summer." Said Harry as he stared at his mail and gifts he had just gotten.

"Don't be a fool. We were all worried for you. Hermione called me multiple times asking what to do. She or Ron would have come Personally if she didn't know I was visiting today. I guessed your relatives would have prevented you from replying to us." Said Matthew as he eyed the lock on Hedwig's Cage, "Hey Girl. Don't worry you will soon have more freedom. So you didn't keep your trunk they shouldn't be able to take it from you with the notice-me-not charm on it." Said Matthew as he petted the Snowy Owl who squeaked Happily.

"They didn't notice it but they still knew I had school things and demanded that I put it in there. So my stuff was safe but I couldn't keep it inside my room." Explained Harry a bit awkwardly.

"I see. Well, how about you come downstairs with me. I already talked it over with my parents and they agreed to force the Dursleys to treat you better." Explained Matthew, "My father will use the Business deal to force them to treat you decently. So you can always tell me if something isn't right and my father will pressure their Company. The economy isn't so good right now and the amount of handymen they can sell to is sinking since more and more young people want rather study than work. So they have fewer Customers and Contracts like these are really important for them." Said Matthew as he lead Harry Downstairs.

As they stepped into the Living Room Mrs. Dursley was the first to Spot them and her face grew pale. Mr. Dursley turned around and only saw Harry as he turned purple, "Boy! What are you doing here—" He asked before he turned silent as he spotted Matthew besides Harry.

"Mom, Dad this is Harry a friend from School. He was upstairs. I found him in his room." Introduced Matthew as the Dursleys turned even Paler.

"You are a freak!" Said Dudley very tactfully not realizing the Situation. He really was as dumb as described in the Books.

"No, I am a Wizard-like my friend Harry here. And we have some rather handy abilities. Harry did you already learn the ringlet tail jinx?" asked Matthew innocently as Dudley also turned Pale and his hands headed to his butt. He just seems to relive some rather traumatic Memories.

"Eh I don't think so you will have to show me that next year, nice to meet you, Mr. And Mrs. Mason." Greeted Harry a bit shyly as he stared at the inhabitants of the Room. And for a moment the Dursleys were speechless about how to handle that situation.
