Chapter 4: Young Lord
When i was in the crib, i thought that may be i am the choosen one and so i tried so hard to see if i have a system or a goldenfinger but till this day there is none and i lost hope in that.
And when i learned that i am the son of a count i thought maybe i could be like those isekai protagonists who uses their modern knowledge as a cheat to become a great lord.
But one thing i overlooked is that one need to have the knowledge first to recreate it, i failed in the aspect that i dont know the specifics of how to create stuff, and knowing how something work dosent mean i could create it from scratch.
Since i am the youngest son, i will not inherit the county, so the solution i cameup with is to mary some noble's daughter and enjoy life, since my looks are perfect i just need to add some contributions to magic and my path would be set.
I have knowledge of modern science thus i only needs to wait till my manacore is fully formed, from all the magic i have seen and the books i have read i came to the conclusion that this might actually be my golden finger.
"Young master, we've arrived."
With help of aliya i got out of the carriage, i can see the townspeople bowing down to me, i just waves my hand at them to be at ease.
We walked around the town for a bit, the people are always bowing and giving way, we bought some dresses for aliya and bought some fruits and delicacies, the sellers were unwilling to accept payment but i insisted on it and they accepted it uncomfortably.
It makes sense since the lands of the territory belongs to the count thus making them in a pickle about taking money from the young lord.
Our next destination is the adventuters guild.
Ever since i've heared of beast mana cores i wanted to visit this place but i have been grounded by mother untill i learned table manners, nobles ways of eating and keeping postures are all very strict and elegant. Only aliya sometimes see my devour mode, other times i am very elegant.
The Beast mana core is a very intriguing thing to me as it is a condenced for of mana and works like a human manacore yet human mana core are incorporeal in nature.
I did try eating one but it was very hard and i even tried to smash it into powder and drink with mixing water in hope of forming my manacore faster but nothing happened.
My imagination was that when monsters are killed the cores will drop like in a game, since this world has magic, it was a justifiable thought but when i learned of how the manacore is taken from the beast corpse, Ugh bleewh.
The guild building is a large two story buildimg and nearby are shops that sell wrapons, manacores and magic appliances.
The main adventurers guild is under the church of the sun god and each lord has certain authority over the respective guild branches meaning a portion of the profit apart from taxes also goes to the lord.
The people here worship the sun god, i was not a believer in my pastlife and had associated the term deception to the church, not sure how it is here.
When i entered the guild, the guildmaster personally invited me inside, since i was just strolling, there wasnt much to talk about but its always good to have good relationship with the guild.
I found out that the guild differentiates adventurers into various professions like swordsman, spearman, archer and the likes by the weapon they use, and i also found out that the church has a magic crystal that can determine the affinity and talent of a person, this typically happens at 5 years after the manacore is completely formed and this process helps stebilize it.
Children of nobles are tested at the church in the capital, mine would be checked from there too, most noble families have a mansion in the capital, Emberfall also has one which i had visited once, but i was too young at that time to remember it clearly.
Father gets Summoned to the capital occassionally and Owen is currently at the capital preparing to attending Arcane Lumina Academy.
