It's raining mad men

"My name is Nuo Cui, I'm a bard and I was in high school before this. Everyone keeps mentioning primary class. . . what exactly is that?" She was a cute girl with long brown hair and eyes the color of honey.

Her question was met with silence.

"As you level up, you eventually unlock the option to have a sub-class, that is simply put an additional class, as you continue to fight it'll only get harder and harder especially if you're a class that is known to be weak on defense, speed or strength, the developer added this feature in mind so the individual wouldn't become reliant on group raids since during the beta, it was very difficult to level up certain stats since the monsters in this game are simply put overpowered." Jinyu took it upon herself to explain in great detail.

Nuo's eyes widened a smile of relief stretching across her face, for a moment it seemed like no one was willing to answer her.

"So there was such a thing, I see. . .Before I had been wanting to quit because the game was too tough, so when does the additional class become unlocked?"

"That. . .all depends on your class, achievements, and experience, in the game, as well as your attributes as well. . . For me... it was level 60. Since I'm a summoner, though my defense wasn't that strong so long as my summoned beasts were strong I was okay, but as the monsters get stronger the more mana consumption, I had to focus on building up my own individual strength, by fighting without using magic completely."

"That. . ." Nuo's face fell. She clearly hadn't reached that level yet.

"Right? For us who rely on magic, our strength is very weak. But there were special events in the game right? Where we ended up with items we thought as junk at the end."

"Ehhhh?!" Nuo and other girls cried out in unison.

Jinyu continued. "That's right if you encounter a townsperson or a friendly monster who can appraise the item. You'll be able to use the item. Those items are often items that can grant you an additional class or items that can help increase your stats. I think the developer didn't want to give us a cheat we didn't deserve, so by making an effort to find out its use, the player became qualified to make use of it."

"No wonder. . . Suzy is level 70 but didn't get this sub-class. Suzy understands" Another player named Suzy Dori sulked as she mumbled to herself.

Jinyu had mixed feelings about this person who had based their character appearance and even their name after a female character from an infamous anime. She's pure, sweet, and stubborn, and because of her naivete she ended up getting raped by multiple characters in that show even though she was supposedly supposed to be one of the strongest female characters. In the ending episode, it was revealed that the character was a masochist which is why she couldn't not forgive her assailants.

For this reason, Jinyu had a hard time liking the character, she had thought the player who based their character off that person was surely a man. But after everyone introduced themselves it was clear the developer had only requested female characters, after all, it was a reverse harem game.

"Suzy, aren't you a valkyrie? Valkyrie's are pretty much unparalleled in strength, speed, and defense. So it wouldn't be fair to weaker classes if you were granted an additional class so early." Lilac explained to her.

"But Suzy thinks, having an additional class would be fun. . ." Suzy mumbled looking down at her cup of tea and pouting. "Farming monsters gets boring after a while!"

Unexpectedly many agreed with her.

"And the love interests are too difficult to get along with. I understand I have to make them love me but they're so mean, it's not worth it." Nuo chimed in.

"That. . . you don't have to pay much mind to the love interests, the game will end up forcing a more agreeable character on you in the end." As soon as Jinyu shared this information everyone was looking at her.

"Huh? There was such a thing?" Even Lilac widened her eyes in surprise.

Jinyu's mouth opened and closed. She thought others must have figured it out, seems not. So her case really wasn't normal. She cleared her throat before beginning to explain trying not to recall the events of that morning.

"Depending on how you play the game as well as how you go about interacting with the main interests, the game won't show it until the end but meanwhile your love-o-meter with one of the side characters also increases, and in the end, the one with the highest score is forced upon you even if you never actually had many interactions." Jinyu explained and sighed at the end. She normally doesn't talk this much in real life, but she felt the need to help everyone if they were lost about what to do. For some reason, she felt responsible.

"I was wondering why I ended up with a Prince from another country. . .So that's the reason." Tree who had just been watching on in silence finally said something.

"Eh? You too Tree?" Lilac whipped her head and asked.

Jinyu's shoulder relaxed hearing this. So she wasn't the only one with a weird ending, thank goodness!

Tree nodded.

"I ended up with the Crown Prince of the Izekai Continent."

All the girls immediately started to complain in unison.

"WHAAAAT?"

"That hot guy?!"

"No fair! No fair!"

"I didn't know such a thing if I knew. . ." Lilac nearly fell out of her chair, as she stood then sat, in the end, she buried her head with her arms on the table.

"At the beginning of the game I was really interested but I didn't think there really was any possibility. . ." She muttered, her voice sounded broken as if she was going to cry.

She wasn't the only one stunned by the news, practically everyone was, Jinyu included. But it would seem out of all the girls, Lilac had been the most torn up about it.

The Crown Prince of the Izekai Continent, Izaac Solaris huh? Jinyu sucked in her cheeks trying not to feel too jealous.

His popularity wasn't surprising. He was indeed a character who was not only handsome but kind, a rarity as the main love interests were all abusive in some way and difficult to like. Turns out that person was up on the market huh. It is a true loss.

Jinyu didn't want to admit it but she too had fallen for him while playing the game.

"If you're all the way in the Izekai continent, how did you get here?" A pretty girl with wavy white hair and red eyes asked, her name was Lixue. She had a similar vibe to Lilac only she was quieter and more observing.

"Thanks to the Crown Prince, as he is a summoner. Summoners can use gate magic, it's something like transportation. If he wanted, he could summon an entire army to other continents, it is why he is so feared in the game. He isn't a person people can afford to offend." Tree explained nervously. She had gotten away with being quiet but now she had to spill the beans.

Lilac whipped her head to confirm this with Jinyu. It was no secret that the Crown Prince was a summoner but was such a thing actually possible?

"Such a thing. . .is such a thing true?"

Jinyu nodded.

"Mmm, Summoning in its essence is bringing something from another space. For monsters, they simply come from a space within a summoner's imagination or perhaps from another world, but I have also used magic on rescue quests. Summoners are a rare class to begin with in this world so Pino you should be careful as well." Jinyu glanced at the youngest of the girls, a summoner who had introduced herself as a senior in middle school which means she should be around the age of fourteen or fifteen.

An adorable little girl with strawberry blonde hair, and eyes that looked like a cup of black tea held to the light, blinked, her face suddenly flustered at being addressed all of a sudden as she quietly sipped her tea.

"A-ah, oh-okay. . .I'll try to keep a low profile!"

Upon choosing a class in character customization, it was no secret.

The rarity of the class was always in the description but not many games tended to stress the usefulness of the rarity, because of this, the game suddenly felt real, even more so now that the girls were stuck in this world.

"If that's the case and summoners are really so valuable, who did you end up with?" Lilac turned to ask Jinyu.

"Ah, it's just an engagement but. . .Jinga's eldest brother."

"Ehhhhhhh! He was available too?!" A girl who looked like a magical girl out of an anime with her orange hair, pink ombre and multi-colored blue and pink eyes, Naomi Butterdove, received a second shock and smacked her head down onto the table.

Jinyu remembered her from group raids, at first glance one would expect her to be a cute mage but she was actually a battlemage that excelled at mass offensive magic, thus earning her the title of the "Lawnmower".

Lilac stiffened as well. "My second favorite side character."

Unlike before with Izaac, Jinyu was genuinely surprised.

"You like Warren? But isn't he too much of a stern workaholic?" Jinyu asked.

"That's what makes him attractive. He's the pillar of the Ning family. Among all of Jinga's brothers, he's not to mention the most handsome. Also if someone is that cold and unfeeling doesn't it want to make you warm them up?" Lilac asked her lips curving at the thought, making her look mentally unsound.

"How is it that you can make such an exception for him but not of the main love interests? Actually, who did you end up with?" Jinyu was really curious now.

Lilac dodged the question by looking elsewhere as she retorted. "Eh? But the main five are evil characters you know?"

"Warren isn't that innocent either, he's a general that has killed many people. Also, he's responsible for the reason Jinga is so disagreeable."

"You're probably right but. . .I still like him, call me a hypocrite." Lilac shrugged she focused on her tea's reflection.

"In that case, you can have him, it's just an engagement."

"I would love too but... I'm married to Klive." Lilac sighed. "I took the defiant route but all my choices of dialogue ended up pleasing him somehow."

A sadist? Klive?

Jinyu readjusted her glasses."So he likes defiant women huh?" Jinyu liked serious bespectacled characters and Klive was no exception to this but since he was a misogynist it was a major turn-off.

"That's why I find it really weird and unfair that you two ended up with side characters." Lilac sighed, tracing the rim of her cup with a finger.

"Concerning sir Klive, I always made sure to be polite no matter how offensive his remarks were," Jinyu explained.

"So did I." Tree agreed.

The three of them all glanced at Luna simultaneously. Her face flushing pink.

"I ended up with Hayate."

"The barbarian raised by the Fennick family huh? He's probably the nicest of the four, and easy to romance in the beginning but in the latter half of the game his affection drops dramatically. His tendency to bully the girl he likes is exceedingly infuriating and if you retaliate against him it drops even further, I was relieved when he stopped giving me attention but you. . .probably had it rough." Tree spoke with strong distaste in her eyes, it seems like she really disliked Hayate. Eyeing Luna with a motherly gaze, it was apparent she was angry and felt pity for Luna.

Interesting. So all of a sudden, Tree's choices Hayate suddenly disliked. Which means that Luna succeeded where Tree failed.

"It is exactly as Ms. Kozack has described, I didn't really try to get anyone's attention and he also seemed nice in the beginning so I was really surprised with the events that unfolded. With Hayate, I tried to take an indifferent approach but it seems like he was determined to get a reaction out of me. As of the moment we're engaged but. . . when I was summoned to this world, it seems his family plans on having him marry a noble's daughter to take as his main-wife."

"What?!" Hearing this the whole table was shocked.

The girl sitting beside Luna, who had introduced herself as Saya, Luna's twin sister in real life, became even more outraged.

"You should break it off immediately. Since we're all in the same universe, I'll back you!" Tree spoke up with unexpected conviction. She had seemed indifferent at first, but the fierce look on her face was one of the protective Mama Bear sort of person.

"That's right! If they resist we'll break his legs!" Saya agreed.

"I may not be as strong as you guys but I'll also do what I can," A quiet girl, with dark hair and indigo blue eyes named Xana, who had been quietly listening to their end results, voiced her support.

Lilac nodded and interjected. "Mmm, before that we should distinguish ourselves as a clan first, in this world, we're known as divine maidens but we never existed in the same universe, actually this is what I mainly wanted to talk to you all about. This way no one can force us into unfavorable marriages since we don't belong to any families."

Jinyu listened on. She'd say the game was the thing that forced marriages upon the players. Since the player can only choose dialogue, and not actually respond and explain their dislike beforehand that was how things ended.

"It is getting quite late but I would really like it if we could all meet again here to discuss our future and discoveries in this world." Lilac concluded the meeting. Then suddenly glanced at Jinyu as if remembering her. "I mean that's if it's okay with you of course!"

"I don't mind at all. I don't really have anything to do in this game, please make use of me and my house." Jinyu smiled warmly at everyone.
