Chapter 37:

The Audience couldn't believe what they have just witnessed. Someone they thought to be the one best among them has fallen before them in combat. The could only remain in silence as they watched Race go back.

Magnus and Mavis had followed Race out of the Arena.

" Wow Race that was amazing. You really put Taron in his place." Mavis was livid. it seemed that Taron was quite a nuisance for her. And just as she finished her sentence, she received a notification on her communicator.

" Wow, Taron had to be taken to the infirmary. Initial diagnosis says he is not seriously injured. But since he used the stimulant he will take about a week to get better. He might even take a day to wake up." Mavis informed them.

" Yeah, lets leave that topic at that. Race what are you going to do for the next 10 hours before we reach the target." Magnus was hoping to get a training session with Race.

" Nah, I am planning to sleep for at least five hours. I want to be at my top shape for the mission. So good night." Race said as he walked towards his room. " See you guys in 10 hours."

" See you then", Magnus and Mavis send Race off as they moved towards their own destinations.

Race walked into the few VVIP chamber on the Capital Ship. If anyone were to look at him they could feel as if nearly transparent waves were being released from Race's body. He was sitting cross-legged as he tried to further refine his control over the Magicules.

Race was trying his hardest to use Magicules without the system skills. After trying for an hour he was able to make a little fire above his palm. But still it was not of much use, at most he could use it as a handy little lighter. But trying it for a bit he started to feel that as if he could feel the Magicules around him with much more clarity.

It was as if a new world was right Infront of him but still too far for him to touch it. Race tried to influence the Magicules outside his skin. That was when Race noticed that he could do it now. But it was not enough for him to make use of it. His control was still not enough.

But then it struck him. It is as if his range had increased. If he was able to this much without the help of the system then the effective range of the system skills must have increased as well.

" Ok then lets try it." Race sat as he started to he started to use Techno-kinesis. Race was surprised to find that he was able to control or connect to any device in a 100m radius.

" Damn, I could bring down the capital ship if I have enough time.", Race was really excited. Then he though of another possibility." I have to get back to the Minotaur."

Race then raced towards it using the internal transports of the capital ship. He had set there settings to reach the maximum speed. One could see a child like smile on Race's face. It was as if he was about receive his favorite thing as a present.

" Hihihihi", Race couldn't help but chuckle to himself." If this works. Oh I can't even think about it. It would be phenomenal. I can't wait. Can't this thing go any faster."

As soon as Race reached the Minotaur he rushed towards the armory. He stood before a huge steel door. He was about to place his palm on the scanner, he stopped for a moment then took out a data stick from his utility belt. he then used techno kinesis on the data stick to completely learn the design to help him with what he was about to do.

Race's palm was now on the scanner. The Giant Metal door slowly opened releasing highly pressurized gas at Race. His Hair swayed frantically as the steam was released. After the entire Door was completely open the lights was turned on. And Lo Behold the Mech that was created for Race by an enlightened mechanic.

Race then walked towards the menacing Mechanical Wonder. Hey walked up to the cockpit with the help of the platform. He then pressed his arm on the center of the mech's chest. A light illuminated into a hexagonal shape around his palm. A Beam was sent out from it, scanning Race completely.

The Hexagonal shape then expanded in size till it grew large enough and a hatch opened letting Race enter the cockpit. He sat upon the seat for the pilot, comfortable to sit but not too luxurious as to cause his focus to falter. The hatch closed, causing the control panels to rise from below right Infront of Race.

He was already familiar with the setup and put the synchronization device on his head.

But this time he didn't start the mech in the normal way. He concentrated on the details of the plan that was in the Data stick and used techno kinesis.

That was when Race understood that he had completely underestimated the design. Even though he had access to the files he was unable to understand the Mech completely but what he had was enough. His master had purposefully avoided certain explanation to make sure that Race will only come into such high topic when he is ready.

" It is now or never Race", Race thought he himself as he pushed himself to the limit by using circuit mapping to get complete control over it. After about a solid five minutes of grueling effort Race was finally able to get the control over the Mech. He was able to feel the Mech as if it was extension of his body. He then willed it in his head.

"Activate".

The towering mech slowly turned own and in Race's head a ting was heard.

" New skill unlocked. Cyber-Mind".
