32 Chapter 32: Sleeping in a rock

Race was smart enough to know what Magnus had meant. But he was kind of shocked to find out the continent sized asteroid that the Minotaur was heading towards was the base of the elite squad.

" So, How do we get in.", Race asked curiously.

Magnus had slight smile on his face when as he said," Just watch."

Magnus pressed a button on the panel before him. " Guys I am here. Are you not gonna welcome me back".

" Oh, the prodigal son returns,heh. If not for your mission you won't even come back to visit me eh." A female voice was heard. the voice was rough and its tone a bit sarcastic.

" Wait a second... She called you her son. you are her son. The special squad captain is your mother", Race found it kind of funny.

" Hey, what are you laughing for?", Magnus was a bit irritated by the funny look Race's face.

" Nothing,... " Race said.

" Yeah... mom I am back." Magnus responded to the captain aka his mom.

" Shouldn't you be saying,' I am back home' ", Race couldn't help but tease Magnus.

" Race, Shut Up", Magnus yelled at Race

" Oh, Look's like you have brought a friend as well", Captain Mom's voice came through the speaker. Magnus was petrified, in his sudden outburst at Race, he had forgotten to mute the mic.

" Yeah, Mom...I mean captain. " Magnus was clearly flustered.

" Hahaha, Yeah alright. Your Minotaur is cleared. You can dock in the 109th bay. Follow the drones, they will guide you during the docking process", the captain had found the earlier conversation funny.

" I don't see any drones." Race said as he looked outside the command deck window and the radar over and over again.

" You really think you can find the recon drones of the special squads with just a regular scan. The Drones they employ has a very low energy signature that can easily me masked." Magnus said as the a huge circular opening appeared on the side of the huge asteroid. Large enough for the city sized Minotaur ship to pass enter.

The drones that were invisible(cloaked) till then suddenly started organise themself into a formation that acted as waypoints to help Minotaur enter the base.

Race was really surprised to find that the drones that have suddenly come into view was able to avoid the detection.

Magnus knew what was going through Race's mind." Like I told you, These drones are created to me secret scouts. They are like an invisible scanning array that scans any and all ships in the vicinity of the asteroid base. Don't be sad that the Minotaur's normal scan can't pick them up. It is because Master was the one who designed these drones. It would be surprising if the normal scan was able to pick them up."

Race was shocked to find that these drones were designed by Master. " Why do they have Master's design", Race asked as the Minotaur slowly entered the asteroid base.

" Oh, This elite squad belong's to our Master." Magnus answered matter-of-factly.

" Hold on a minute, the squad belong's to our Master, and the captain of the squad is your mother.You are awfully lucky Brother Magnus. So how did that happen." Race couldn't stop himself from asking.

" Oh, My mother used to be Master's guard before master became an enlightened mechanic. Since Master trusted mother so much, she let her be the the captain of one of the squads that were given to her."

" When I was little boy, I was way smarter than others' of my age, so Master took me in as her disciple." Magnus spoke.

" That was easy". Race said in cool tone.

" Yup, you could say i was lucky."

Resounding clangs was heard throughout the ship as hundreds of metallic clamps held The Minotaur in place and started to take it towards its docking bay.

" Race, Although the squad belongs to Master, It does not mean everyone here is going to be happy to meet us. There is a small part of the crew that believes that we are just guys who were lucky to be accepted."

" They are gonna cause trouble ?", Race was a bit curious.

" Maybe they might challenge us". Magnus said.

" I should avoid it ?", Race thought that Magnus would ask him to reign himself as not cause trouble for his mother.

" No, Beat them. Show them that you are better them in combat that they take pride in." Magnus said as his eyes looked into the darkness as if remembering something from the past.

Race was quick to the read Magnus's mood. He gave a light punch on Magnus's shoulder and said," No worries, I will make them rue the day they decided to cross us. Now tell me brother Magnus how hard should I crush them."

Magnus smiled at his junior's gesture.

" Just say the word", Race said as the Minotaur finally docked.

" Son, I will be in my office, Follow the officials who are waiting for you at the docking bay. You will see them as soon as you exit the ship.

" Yes, Captain Mom", Magnus said that and immediately face palmed himself.

"cough...cough" the sound through the speaker was heard, " I miss you to son."

Magnus was so embarrassed by what had happened that he lunged at Race when he began to laugh.

Race was able to easily dodge him and bolt towards the exit door.
