10 Chapter 10 – Clue and Next Step

The girl in front of me was surprised when I said my name. She took a step back and her face turned pale. She looked at me as if I was a monster, at that moment I realized something.

The girl in front of me was Magiya Emerald. Only she knew my name, and only she knew that I am a Magical Girl. I didn't recognize her because of the magic spell that was cast when they turned into Magical Girl.

Identity Obstruction, that was the name of the spell. It made the Magical Girl unrecognizable from their real form. So, their identity as a Magical Girl would be safe when they didn't transform into one. It was a convenient spell, which I didn't have.

My earring only changed my appearance, it had nothing like Identity Obstruction. The Magical Girl, on the other hand, can't change their real appearance. So they needed the spell to hide their real identity from the public.

The reason why I recognized Magiya Emerald as soon as her face paled was simple. I was stronger than her, so the spell only did a little effect on me. I didn't recognize her earlier was because I just shrugged her off as another girl in the city.

"Is this fate? We meet again, Magiya Emerald." I said as I smiled at her.

Magiya Emerald, or Aria, stood a few steps away from me and glared at me, "How? Why are you here?! A criminal was not allowed to enter this city!"

So that was why she was surprised to see me? It seems that she didn't receive education about anything yet.

"You were wrong, I am not a criminal." I said as I opened the second box of Takoyaki and eat one of it.

'Hmm~ this is still as delicious as the previous one! Even when the Takoyaki had cooled down, it was still delicious!'

I ignored the serious atmosphere around Aria and enjoyed my Takoyaki.

"I? No, more importantly, you attacked The Center and me! How could you not be a criminal?! You killed those guards!"

I throw another Takoyaki into my mouth and pointed the pricker in my right hand at her.

"Nay, I killed two familiars. They were never human to begin with. So that didn't count as a murder."

That's right. The Center guards were not human. They were Giants' familiar, created from magic. Or they could be called Homunculus.

The criminal distinction on a city was Human. If a Human killed another Human, their name will automatically be recorded in the criminal database. Homunculus was different. It was like destroying the others Magic, so it didn't count as a criminal activity.

Well, the one who destroyed Homunculus will get the creator's attention, in this case, the Giants. I don't care though, because they stopped me from going inside The Center.

"What?! I see, they were Homunculus. But, why? Homunculus was created by our Patrons to help farm crops and raise livestock. Why did they assign them as guards?"

Aria's hostility towards me had lessened after she heard that the guards were Homunculus. They were treated as Magic Dolls, not Human. That was why the Humans in this world almost had no feeling towards Homunculus.

Few Humans thought of Homunculus as real Humans, but they were just among the minority. Now the reason why Giants assigned Homunculus who almost had no fighting power as the guards of The Center in this city.

"Because they were meant to get destroyed."

The Center of Hydro City was meant to be destroyed in the first event as a tutorial for the players. That was why I wanted to take a selfie of The Center before the time ran out.

The Main Character in Magical Giants was a girl from Another World. She was transported to this world by someone, and that someone wanted to see the adventure of the Girl from Another World. Her adventure to become the Magical Girl in this Deepland.

"They were meant to get destroyed? Why?!"

"You asked too much." I said shortly and throw the third Takoyaki into my mouth.

"Why don't you find it yourself? I am in hotel Giant's Bed for two days. Find me there if you wanted to ask something."

I put the box that had 4 Takoyaki on the bench and stood up. I began to walk in the opposite direction of Aria and waved my hand.

"You can eat the rest! Consider that as my gift."

I went to the market again after leaving Aria at the park. Well, I gave her a hint so she must do the rest herself. I managed to be myself all this time, but Zmeya's personality was too strong. I almost jumped at Aria when I realized that she was Magiya Emerald.

That was an achievement for me! I managed to use I and me instead of this one. Calling myself this one was really embarrassing, though I didn't get embarrassed when I took off my earring.

More importantly, I will leave this city after 2 days. It was faster than I planned, but I wanted to meet the first boss of Magical Giants.

Talking with Aria made me realize something, this world was vast and there were a lot of Magical Girls hiding behind their guise as normal girls. There were lots of fun that was waiting for me. Well, before that, maybe it was better to introduce myself to the Main Character and get to know her name here.

The name of the Main Character was decided by players, that was why I didn't know her name yet. Getting acquainted with her only brought me benefits, but there will be danger alongside the benefits that I got.

Nothing problematic for me though, as I am Zmeya. Now, let's continue my tour in this city!

I've been walking around this city for two days, and Aria didn't visit the hotel that I talked about even once.

That meant, she either didn't believe me or she was wary of me and afraid to come to me.

Well, I don't care though. If The Center was destroyed, then this city was done for. Only Magical Girls and the Main Character would be able to survive without any protection from the Beasts.

The Main Character will arrive tomorrow, so I had time before I meet her. Let's meet the first boss first, shall we?

I exited the hotel with a goal in my mind unlike yesterday. When I exited the hotel, I saw Aria standing across the street with a serious look on her face. So she did investigate what I told her and noticed something different with The Center in this city.

Aria saw me and approached me. I just stood in front of the entrance of the hotel with a smug smile on my face as I saw her approaching me.

She stopped right in front of me and looked at my face, "How… no, why?"

I don't understand her question… how, no why? What did she ask? As a Yumei, I can't answer her question. But part of me, which was Zmeya's personality did know what she meant. All this time, I reined Zmeya's personality to not affect me too much, but I need to let it loose sometimes.

I contradicted myself. On the first day I got transferred into this world, I wanted to act like Zmeya. The truth was, I didn't mind my personality merged with Zmeya's. But I wanted to be myself sometimes, that was why I reined her personality as much as I could.

"Why, you ask? It was a whim."

A whim, an entertainment, a show. That was the answer. But, the closest answer would be Tutorial.

"It is a test, for the savior of the world. No, savior or destroyer. She could be one of them."

That was the fate of the Main Character in Magical Giants. Either she will save the world as a Magical Girl from the Good side, or she will destroy the world as a Magical Girl from the Evil side.

That was true for Zmeya as well. But, because I played the New Game+, I can move freely without getting chained to the quest. That was the reason why I called myself Independent Magical Girl.

"Savior or Destroyer?! So the prophecy was true!" Shouted Aria with a surprised tone.

"Umu, that was true. But, that prophecy was useless now."

Aria cutely tilted her head and asked, "Why?"

I smugly smiled at her and exclaimed, "Because this Zmeya is here! No one could defeat me, even the girl of prophecy."

I had a lot of end-game items after all!

With my declaration, I looked up to the sky and said, "Well, it's time for me to leave."

I couldn't fly because I wore the earring. I could still utilize Magia to attack my opponent, but I couldn't fly or use a skill. That was why I took off my earring and my clothes and appearance was back to normal again.

Aria was surprised by my sudden transformation and took a few steps back. She looked at me warily, she was afraid of me.

I smiled at her as I closed my eyes, "Worry not, this one will not attack you. This one wishes you luck, let's meet again someday."

Leaving these words, I flew out of the city at a fast speed. My destination was the mountain where the first boss of Magical Giants resides.

I wanted to meet her, and then conquer her!

"Ah~ I can't wait to see her cute face~"
