35 Experiment Time

'Alright…first things first, before I start an experiment, I need to collect evidence and make a hypothesis about the current situation.'

Regarding the experiment's hypothesis, Ivan hypothesized that the stone wall before him has a singular somewhere that acted as the wall's weakness.

Why? Because even if wizard apprentices could clear the rest of the trials with purely magic, they would have to use up all of their mana to conjure a powerful spell to destroy the mountain wall before them.

Ivan couldn't use magic. And Headmaster Na knew that.

Unless the headmaster has completely forgotten about Ivan's disability, he wouldn't recommend Ivan to take on an impossible test to get into a never before heard school.

The examiners from Jumper Academy surely must have prepared some countermeasures in case that one of their examinees was unable to use powerful magic.

And that was why Ivan speculated that there was a weak point along the stone wall's surface.

After taking out a notebook from under his jacket, Ivan walked over to the stone wall before giving it a light knock on the stone surface.

A 'thud' sound was produced.

'It seems that the stone wall is not hollow, good. Now let's test its sturdiness.'

Without wasting any time, Ivan created an iron sword using his creation arts before he swung the sword at the mountain wall.

A 'clang' sound was produced.

The iron sword's blade snapped into two when it came into contact with the stone wall.

The stone wall remained unscathed.

'The mountain wall's sturdiness is beyond my expectations, interesting...'

Ivan ignored the pain he felt from the sword's collision with the stone wall as he wrote down his findings about the stone wall into his notebook.

Bit by bit, Ivan made sure that all possibilities about the stone wall have been explored till completion.

Hours passed by when Ivan finally completed his evidence gathering.

Ivan closed the notebook in his hand before putting it away into his jacket.

A grin could be seen on the boy's face.

He was happy that he could start the experiment now.

'Now then,let's begin the experiment.'

With a determined look on his face, Ivan stretched his right hand towards the stone wall before shouting.

"Break for me! 28 Roaring Moon Arts, Rising Moon!"

A ball of light appeared in his right hand for a moment before it was shot towards the stone wall.

Alas, nothing happened. The ball of light immediately dispersed when it came into contact with the stone wall.

'Experiment 1.1, recreating martial techniques I've read about in novels using my creation arts, has failed. Bummer.'

Ivan noted down his feelings and thought process when he conjured up the light ball into his notebook.

His current state of mind was also recorded down to the very last detail.

Because when doing an experiment, every little bit of information gathered from observation and procedure was crucial to the experiment's final outcome.

After noting down all of the related observations into his notebook, Ivan took a deep breath to calm himself before starting his next test.

He proceeded to conjure up an iron sword from the air again.

This time however, instead of immediately swinging the sword at the stone wall, Ivan decided to do a series of poses with the sword.

'Roaring Moon Arts, Moon Goddess Dance.'

Ivan remained calm as he recited the dance steps from the novel, Rise of the Roaring Moon Emperor, from the back of his head.

The Calm Mind passive skill he possessed was helping him from behind the scenes.

Upon completing the final step of the Moon Goddess Dance, Ivan felt a surge of cold energy rush through his body like a tide.

He felt…cold yet energized.

And when he couldn't bear with the cold any longer, Ivan dashed forward like a newly released arrow.

Following that, he poured all of his energy into his sword before he thrusted forward at the stone wall.

"Clang!" The stone wall cracked under Ivan's powerful sword thrust.

Alas, that was all there was to it.

The iron sword shattered like ice just after having touched the stone wall.

But Ivan didn't care.

He grinned like a madman afterwards since he saw some results.

Without wasting another second, Ivan recorded down his findings in the notebook while he smiled away like an idiot.

'Experiment 1.2, recreating a martial technique that boosts the user's combat prowess using my creation arts, was partially successful! Haha, I'm so happy!'

Thus, Ivan continued to research and experiment things he can and cannot do with his creation arts.

It was only until Ivan had gained partial success in Experiment 1.9, recreating Roaring Moon Palm using my creation arts, that Chaos and Leviathan began to notice the boy's enthusiasm.

'Wow, I did not expect the boy would have such enthusiasm in finding a solution to his current predicament.'

Leviathan nodded his head approvingly when he saw Ivan trying to recreate novel martial arts into real life.

And although he did not outright say it, the King of Water Dragons knew that he had chosen the right master to follow.

'Heh, you can say that again. I knew that from the moment I first met him. Ivan, this boy will surely shock you when you give him enough time to mature.' Chaos replied.

He couldn't help but reveal a smug smile when he thought back to how selfless he was.

Not only did he help Ivan absorb a high class elixir like the Condensed Soul Milk, Chaos had even lent the boy a hand at refining the essence and repaired Ivan's 3 pathways while he was at it.

Leviathan helplessly sighed when he saw his ex-master's smug appearance. 'This old man must be feeling selfless that he did a small deed again, haiz...'
