Many centuries ago, the gates of Hell were opened during a time of peace, allowing the fearsome Demon King to rise up from his blistering prison. This caused a war to erupt between the forces of the Demon King Zephyr and all the kingdoms of the land but was only won by the hand of the Elven Queen Myrinth, ruler of Vesyria. The ancient civilization of the Elves completely vanished after the war mysteriously.
Presently, the world is one that is conquered by the evils that crawled out of Hell all those years ago and humankind has adapted to living amongst the dark creatures that stalk them. Contractors, mages who present exceptional skill and battle prowess, exist to keep the borders of the human territories safe.
