Ch 1

The silhouette of an old man basked in ethereal light, was very conspicuous in the the dark space. Ripples formed in the dark like the surface of water as he walked, and in front of him was a large door.

The two doors shone in resplendent golden light, very massive in size, and covered in a layer of white fog.

Swimming along the white fog were countless dots in various colors. As the old man approached, he then noticed that these seemingly little dots were in fact, as large as an adult man. The largest would be comparable to a castle.

Yet all these luminous objects were nothing compared to the majestic doors that towered as high as the sight could see, and extending to the endless darkness, seeming to have no borders at all.

"Have you come for another visit, my old friend?"

A voice echoed in the darkness, the luminous dots and the gray fog suddenly retreated from the doors.

The old man looked up at the doors in awe. A pillar of light fell down in front of him, forming the image of a man.

"It has been a long time since you last visited." Said the man.

"Aye." The old man seem resigned. "I'm tired."

The man looked at the old man whose eyes have witnessed many things in life, he might as well be the longest lived creature he had met.

The person who was full of dreams and ambition in his memory formed a stark contrast to the old man who does not even have a will to live.

The man spoke no further. He had nothing to say, as he was neither a human nor did he possess a human soul. "Follow me. Seems like you really have thought this through."

He led the old man before the massive doors. The old man scanned the doors and dug a memory deep in his mind, he chuckled. "This was not the first time I had passed through these doors, aren't I?"

"Who knows." The man said. He placed his hand on the entrance, and there was a rumbling sound in the entire place. The giant doors were moving.

There was a faint light between the gaps of the two doors. "Will finally be able to return? To that mystical land that resides in my oldest memory?"

The man smiled. "You can find that out yourself."

The old man took a step forward and entered the other side of the door. His eyes were lost in deep thought as he faced the intense light.

The man watched as the old man walked farther and farther, until he could no longer see his back. "Farewell, my friend."

Meanwhile a large commotion has occurred in the material world, golden colored lights were released from the body of a young man, thousands were released to the sky like fire flies, flying up from the roof of a majestic palace.

The young man sat on a majestic throne, covered in pristine aura. His hair was white, and above his head was a golden crown with many jewels. His expression was serene and peaceful.

Below the throne were people who wore sumptuous clothes. They were kneeling before the young man, all of them silently lowered their heads as fragmented lights escaped from the sleeping King, like ashes being blown in the wind. The body of the young man eventually disappeared from majestic throne.

"The King of Areth has passed away"

Once this news was spread out, all the powerful figures in the land of Areth felt incredulous.

"That old monster died? Just like that? "

The news were soon verified and it was quite shocking to all the people in the world.

"I am dreaming?"

"Aarg! Don't cast fireball at me you dumbass!"

"Hahaha! That old fogey is gone! The heavens are mine!"

"Well, why don't we go and wreck the kingdom now?"

"Why don't you go first? I'll bet your life once you set your foot inside that you would meet his ghost."

"..."

Many people feared and revered the old King, he was powerful and he was undying. Though he has no lack of enemies, no one dared to confront him directly. They could only hide like rats, and now their greatest obstacle was gone just like that.

But their deep rooted fear acted to deter them from doing something careless.

Areth soon fell into a state of chaos, the King had selected a heir but it could not easily calm the citizens.

Regardless, what happens after this, that would no longer concern the person in question.
