1 Chapter 1

In a dark room, a person could be seen lying on a bed, the only source of light in the room being the phone in his hand. However, the man wasn't looking at the phone in front of him but rather at the seemingly empty ceiling behind it.

"Wha...?"

(MC POV)

I was just scrolling through my phone when suddenly something appeared in front of my eyes, a blue screen that looked like a status screen from an RPG. I put my phone down and rubbed my eyes, after blinking a few times I saw that the screen didn't disappear. I tried lifting my hand to touch it but it didn't work

"Damn."

I stood up from the bed and turned on the light, after that, I checked in detail what was on the screen

"Wow. What amazing stats I have. Why do I have 0 mana? And my magic stat is 0 too..."

Amazing. But maybe the fact that there is a magic stat IS amazing huh... and what is that about light magic?

"Well, I'll just assume this is real."

I don't think I'm hallucinating, and even if I am then I don't think I can be helped.

"So... light magic huh? How do I use it? I don't have any mana but I do have the ability, so maybe..."

I lifted my hand, pointing it at the wall, and focused, I don't know what I was supposed to focus on but I tried. I tried imagining light, light coming out of my palm. It didn't work but I DID feel something, something deep inside me. I tried again and again and again, like in a trance. My head started to hurt but something started to happen, I felt something shift within me. My head was bursting and I was barely standing but I was so close, just a bit more.

A light suddenly appeared in front of my palm, it was small and feeble. I didn't look closely though, because I was focused on my status window.

HP: 94%

MP: 0/0

Though I didn't have time to check closer, as I lost consciousness

(A few hours later)

"ugh..."

I woke up with a migraine. It's not fun but bearable. I tried to sit up but my body was not cooperating.

"damn..."

I also noticed that the status window is gone.

"Status...?"

It opened. And I saw something interesting.

HP: 97%

I didn't even heal fully. That was risky huh? Why did I even do that? But the other thing is interesting.

MP: 0.1/0.1

Light Magic (lvl 1)

My MP went up. And my light magic too. That's good but... It makes me feel the urge to do that again. I WILL do that. Not now tho, I have to eat something.

"ughh..."

Getting up, I almost fumbled back, but I managed. My apartment is small, or rather not big, so the kitchen is close to my room. When I got to the fridge I took out leftover dinner from yesterday. I put it in the microwave and went back to my room to pick up my phone, I checked the time seeing it was only 4 a.m.

"I slept for only like... 3 hours I think?"

That's... good I guess, not that I have anything I have to do. I don't have a job and I live off of inheritance like a champ. I have a lot left so I'm not pressed to look for a job anytime soon, a couple of years at least, so I'm doing nothing. I know that's not good but whatever.

I ate my food and wondered, what am I gonna do now? I don't know. Am I the only one to use magic and stuff? I don't know, but if I were to guess then no. So I guess the focus would be to get stronger? Probably. I tried thinking about how to approach it, and the only thing I could think of was to repeat what I did before. I used magic, at least I think it was magic since it used MP, but my magic stat is still 0, so how did I use magic? I didn't get any skill or anything but light magic leveled up so I just forced some magic out? It hurt me, I guess I used HP in place of MP because I didn't have enough. Or something along the lines

"Aight. Let's do it again. But before that..."

I tried checking what does lvl 1 light magic give me. I opened it mentally, I just thought of opening it and it worked.

Light Magic (lvl 1): Increases effectiveness of light magic by 10% and reduces MP cost by 5% when using light magic.

That's not bad, it will surely get better as it levels up, and when I have more MP it will be more impactful.

"With this it and my MP not being 0 it shouldn't be as bad as before, even though my HP isn't full..."

I went to my room and stood by the bed. I didn't want to lie down but if I lose consciousness I should fall on my bed. I lifted my hand, pointing my palm at the wall in case something shoots out.

"Alright."

I took a few deep breaths and focused. I didn't focus on my palm but rather inside me. This time I felt something immediately, it was small, and distant, but it was there. I then tried to imagine a light forming in front of my palm. Immediately, I started to feel pain spreading in my body, and a small light appeared, it was smaller than before but I didn't pass out immediately after. The light stopped growing but it didn't disappear, I took my hand away and it stayed in place, I feel like I could move it but I decided not to in case it hurts more. I watched the light for a while, maybe like 20 seconds before it started to dim and slowly disappear. After it was gone I immediately checked my status.

"Hmm... It's not that bad, I guess I have more MP now. The problem is I don't think I got anything out of this, but I guess maybe I didn't have 0 MP but more like 0.03 or something like that. I'll just try again later."

Later not now because my head hurts bad. I took my phone, went to my room, and laid on the bed. I just scrolled through youtube for a while and went to sleep. Hopefully tomorrow I'll make some progress. I still don't know how to get exp after all.
