There were so many things running through Prudence's head as her body moved on its own to obey what he asked of her. Her hands started sliding ahead, on the smoothly polished surface of the table. "Do not waste my time, Prudence," Vincent's grip tightened on the handle, which made a rubbery sound in the silence of the room.

Sweat rolled down her forehead. She could feel a drop go down her spine while the room was filled with her shivering breaths. Her mind was going hazy as she leaned ahead. Prudence could not bring herself to go forward immediately, just as she found it tough to believe this was a reality. The slower she went more she received the judgement of that riding crop.
