Would it be considered childish of me if I went home after dinner and the very first thing I did was jump around like a giddy little teenager who just landed a date with his crush?

Probably not right?

Because I did it. I was fucking delighted and my face hurt from how much I was smiling the entire ride back home and even after that. Who wouldn't? I'm pretty sure I even smiled in my sleep.

I so wanted to share this with Gabe and Em but I didn't. It felt so unreal that I thought I might jinx it and this bubble of happiness would just pop.

That was a mistake I made because here I am the next day at eight in the morning in my house getting lectured by Gabe. Emily was running a little late but I'm sure she'd want to tear me a new one too.

"You know it's a basic and the most important protocol to call me after you return from these types of dinners, right? "

"Yes. "
