Chapter 18- Payback

"Hi," I say, my voice coming out soft and shaky as I speak.

"Hello, doctor."

It shouldn't have erupted a swarm of butterflies in my stomach but it did. Over the years, a bunch of people have called me doctor but this takes the cake.

"Thank you for coming. Please have a seat." I motion for him to sit.

"The pleasure's all mine. After all, I did earn this dinner. Right, doctor? " He asks teasingly and I have to stop myself from ducking shyly.

"Yes, you did. And again I am extremely sorry for what happened that day. You were there to have fun and I probably spoiled your mood."

"But you fixed it too." He answers cheekily, and there's a meaning behind that answer that I don't want to find out right now.

"We should place our orders now, I am starving."

"Me too actually."

That brings a smile to me.

"So how long have you been a doctor for Aiden?" The way he says my name is fucking hot.

"Five years now."
