Chapter 1:

Raven dark hair flips over a petite shoulder as the sound of sonorous laughter fills the air, the cafe is full to the brim with two male customers who turn away from the cashier to stare at the beautiful brunette who had her right arm wrapped around a coffee cup and her left around a pink phone which sits aimlessly on her left ear.

The two customers stare at each other, then back at the beautiful woman, both having a silent conversation about getting the beautiful damsel first. A silent competition.

Bella summer Rains takes a sip of her coffee and throws the two men a sweet smile as she catches their eyes before mumbling a quick,

"Gotta go now Chloe, I am creeping people out by laughing so loudly, see you at the apartment by eight"

Without waiting for a response Bella hangs up with a contented sigh, a small smile gracing her thin lips, she takes another long sip of her coffee, letting out another soft sigh as the sweetened coffee slides down her throat warming her insides.

A small cough gets her to notice the shadow that suddenly casted over her small frame at the booth. She looks up to see one of the men from earlier. A small grin crawls to her thin pink lips again. Smiling could pass off as her middle name and anyone who has met her wouldn't doubt it.

"Hello there beautiful, i am sorry for creeping up on you like this l couldn't help but notice you, yes? Can I get a name?"

Bella looks down at her phone as it pings with the notification of a text but she doesn't check who its from. She could already guess, its from Patrick.

She looks up at the stranger who is apparently Nelson, as her gives her a nervous smile after his slight blubbering and pulls a welcoming arm out.

"Hi Nelson I am Bella, its a pleasure"

He takes the arm with a proud grin,

"The pleasure is most definitely mine. Is this sit taken?"

He points at the sit right in front of her. Bella shakes her head before giving out her response,

"Actually no, but I have to get going now though, so i can't keep you company, thing is have things to do. I just couldn't miss a cup of this deliciousness"

She raises her coffee cup slightly to prove her point, Nelson's broad shoulders drop in disappointment.

"Are you sure I just didn't scare you away?"

Bella giggles softly and Nelson stood mesmerized,

"I am sure. I really need to go."

"Well then why don't you prove you aren't scared by going out with me sometime"

Bella already on her feet gives Nelson a coy smile,

"You know, I don't really have to prove anything. You could take my word for it"

Nelson frowns at the clear rejection,

"Oh alright"

He mutters, disappointed about the rejection and the shame he would have to face with his friend that sat at a booth away from them staring almost without blinking. Bella giggles at the cute brunette.

"I'd be free tomorrow"

Nelson nods with an enthusiastic grin and pulls out his phone,

"Your number please"

"Of course"

After putting in her number Bella hands his phone back to him,

"Bye Nelson, see you tomorrow"

"Definitely. Bye Bella"

Bella typed away on her laptop her only break being her constant sip from her coffee mug. Along with smiling, anyone could tell Bella has an odd addiction to coffee but she would blame her days in college were she had to study all night and still meet up with her classes or the days she had to update her book to meet up with her publisher's demands. coffee has been her companion.

The sound of door opening gets her attention and she looks towards the door, from her position on the red couch she sat with her legs tucked under her butt and her laptop on the wide couch in front of her. Chloe would constantly tease her about the weird way she sat but she found it quite comfortable unlike other people.

An excited blonde bounds into the apartment hurriedly like she is being pursued by a group of boy band lovers, though knowing Bella she wouldn't run away from something like that. Chloe adores attention.

Bella places her laptop on the center table and sits up straight.

"Wow wow wow calm down girl, what's going on?"

The blonde girl just jumps up in excitement squealing extremely loudly, Bella's brows furrows deeply and she glares.

"We have neighbours you idiot"

She scowls,

"Keep it the fish down"

She adds sharply and the blonde rolls her eyes and stops jumping abruptly taking a sit beside her friend but the excitement is still very evident from her constant shaking and her wide grin,

"Don't be such a party pooper Summer. I got good news"

Bella turns to her friend fully, her face in a kind smile.

"Well then, don't make me wait longer. You know I hate surprises"

The blonde girl grins and just stares for a few seconds before exclaiming,

"I got the part"

It took a few seconds before it dawned on Bella and when it did she jumps off the couch like it burns,

"Shut up!"

Bella exclaims loudly, suddenly forgetting about the neighbours she had humbly warned her friend about a few minutes ago. The blonde joins her standing.

"I swear I did, I was called earlier today and I got the part girl"

"Omg omg omg omg this is huge this is freaking huge. Gosh I am so happy for you baby, you deserved it, I knew you would get it you are such a great actress and it's time Hollywood figure it out too"

The blonde leaps at her friend in excitement. They hug for a few seconds laughing almost maniacally, but the joy was evident.

"We must celebrate tonight"

"Must. But I can't drink, I have got to get my book to my editor by Sunday and it's Thursday. You know how Patrick is"

The blonde rolls her blue eyes, flips her shoulder length dyed platinum blonde hair over her shoulder and flops on the couch again.

"You are drinking, I will speak to Patrick, you know he always listens to me"

"Yeah its clear the guy is in love with you and you obviously like him too. What are you waiting For Chloe?"

Chloe rolls her eyes once again and pats the space beside her for her best friend and roommate to take a sit. Bella huffs but sits nonetheless, this is what happens when you have an actress as a best friend. Melodramatic.

"My dear dear one. You wouldn't know the ways of flirting even if it knocked you in the face. I am going to go on my first date with him once we have known each other for at least four years."

"Why the fishnet are you waiting that long though?"

"In the words of Taylor swift boys only want love if it's torture girl. I am gonna take playing hard to get to a whole new level"

Bella shakes her head in disapproval and stands on her feet, letting it guide her away from her obnoxious, quite arrogant best friend.

"Don't have time for your crazies right now. I am gonna keep writing for a while till I have nothing else to write and my brain cries for help, then have dinner before we leave cause food is most definitely life. Oh and Chloe I got a date tomorrow"

Bella lets out flatly but the excitement in her voice is too evident to hide. A loud scream booms through the room and Bella turns to glare at the blonde.

"You scream way too much Hollywood"

Is her dry reply. Ignoring her friends snarky statement, Chloe gets on her feet and rushes towards Bella.

"With who? Where? When? Omg I am hyperventilating"

Bella rolls her eyes at her best friend's dramatic antics and turns to her laptop picks it up and walking towards the kitchen.

"Breath girly, breath. With a guy named Nelson, i don't know where yet and tomorrow. I met him at a cafe today"

Chloe couldn't hide her clear excitement, her grin was almost face splitting, it worried Bella.

"I am so glad you are giving dating a chance again. After Eric the scumbag"

Bella cringed slightly at the memory of the guy who left her stranded on an alter when she was twenty one, though she is glad she didn't get married so young and to a piece of shit like that it still stung to remember.

Bella places her laptop on the kitchen counter and starts heading towards the stairs, to her room, losing inspiration to continue her new work 'NO MORE LOVE FOR EVANGELINE',

"Hey don't think about him, he never deserved you"

"I wasn't thinking about him Chloe, not until you mentioned him"

Her voice is cold. Sometimes the aloofness of her blonde friend tends to get on her very last nerve.

"Biscuits! I am sorry Summer"

But she knows she means no harm Is why she loves her and Bella can't hold a grudge to save her life. She turns back towards her blonde friend with a soft smile.

"Its fine love, I am just gonna hit the bath. Its almost 8. Why don't you do the same so we can leave?"

Chloe sighs, nodding silently. She knows her friend, she isn't upset with her but she is sad and she hates to see Bella sad much less because of her. Sadness doesn't suit Bella Summer Rains and it wasn't a personal goal of Chloe's to make a perfect ball of sunshine sad.

"Be done in an hour. I know you Chloe"

Bella warns teasingly, Chloe takes hours to get ready and it infuriates Bella.

Chloe grins at her and the two girls run up the stairs to get ready for the night of their lives.
