38 Liquid quartz origin essence

"That'll be all for today. Remember for those who desire to focus their attention on Wood Attribute Fae that they can supplement their fae with both Water and Fire Attribute fae, depending on their usage. Overbearing fae like crimson fae cannot be used, however those complimentary fae like sunshine fae could be. See you all tomorrow".

Despite the vast majority of the young Fae Masters writing these notes down, Arthur immediately exited the classroom, not drawing any attention to himself as he swiftly left the room.

Usually, most of his classmates would pester Arthur into trying to teach them martial arts, but at refused all lessons ever since the end of the tournament.

He always gave them the excuse that he was trying out some new techniques, however over the past week or so, Arthur had done nothing but head to his basement home directly after the mandatory Lectures, and do nothing but eat, sleep and cultivate his origin essence.

Other than the 5 origin essence stones he used to refine the wind stalker fae, as well as the moonslice fae, he still had 38 origin essence stones left.

35 from the rewards from first and second place, as well as the 3 weekly origin essence stones that the new Fae Masters received each week.

He refused to touch these origin essence stones, instead keeping them for something important at a later date.

Who knows when a Fae Master might need some Fae materials, or information regarding Fae Formula? It was never a good idea for a Fae Master to ever completely deplete their stock of wealth.

Arthur still kept the now several litres of Spirit Water in his room, ready and waiting to be sold.

Giving a nod to the older gentleman manning the bar at the tavern, Arthur head downstairs and immediately locked the door.

His smile just a little bit wider than usual.

"Today's the day I finally break through to liquid quartz origin essence!".

Placing his Fae materials on the ground, Arthur called all of his Fae out of his origin essence sea, and let them feast on their various foods as he sat down quietly, legs crossed and both hands in his lap.

His mind drawn to the origin essence seas located within his body.

This origin essence sea was divided up into three unequal sections.

The Mind. The Body. And the Soul.

Each section of origin essence sea had a maximum of 100%, giving a collective total of 300%, however Arthur could only use just over two thirds of that collective total, at a measly 201% origin essence sea.

In his previous life, Arthur only had a 149% origin essence sea. Reincarnating with the Winter Solstice Salamander allowed his talent to increase by 52%.

Reincarnation always strengthened the Soul, regardless of whether a Fae Master reincarnates into another body, or into a baby's body.

Their Mind was usually stronger as well, and the Body was strengthened as a result of the other two increasing.

Arthur had heard of techniques using Fae to increase one's aptitude for cultivation. Reincarnation was the most obvious, but also the most rare.

Only those Fae Masters who had researched special attributed fae could perform such feats.

His brows furrowed, focusing on his collective origin essence sea.

"Enough of that for now. I need to focus on breaking through!".

Arthur smoothed out his breathing, focusing his attention on coalescing his origin essence into a single drop.

The quartz coloured origin essence expanded and contracted, as if being suddenly blown up, and then deflated like a balloon.

The purity of Arthur's origin essence had reached a point where it came crystalline, despite its gaseous appearance. It shimmered like stars in the night sky, and glimmered like the sun reflecting off glass.

It's appearance completely ignored by Arthur, but he smiled at its purity.

'It's actually much more pure than my original origin essence. Probably because I didn't use as many origin essence stones to supplement my cultivation'.

Origin essence stones were used as both currency, and cultivation materials for Fae Masters.

It was mainly used as the former, but some did use it as the latter in order to quickly enhance their cultivation.

They functioned just like the bloodseeker leaf fae, in that it quickly restored, not regenerated, restored the Fae Masters origin essence.

Although, there was a downside.

This quickly restored origin essence possessed a large amount of impurities within it. It made origin essence cloudy, and could only be restored safely with a large amount of time, or with special fae that could destroy impurities within origin essence.

In Arthur's previous life, after Randolf became a Rank 2 Fae Master, Arthur quickly used all the origin essence stones he had in order to catch up to his level of cultivation. As such, his foundation was greatly harmed.

But this time, with the assistance of the bloodseeker leaf fae, Arthur's cultivation soared, exceeding that of a first-tier talent like Randolf!

It was all due to the bloodseeker leaf fae....

Arthur couldn't help but smile slightly, his attention still placed on his origin essence sea.

The constant retracting and expanding of his origin essence sea caused the state of the origin essence itself to fluctuate. Normally static and gaseous in nature, through cultivation, the gaseous form of origin essence became more and more refined, more and more heavy as it condensed into the form of a tiny little-.

Droplet.

The sound of a single drop of rain colliding against a smooth sea echoed throughout Arthur's mind. The shock from the sound caused his mind to ripple, and his straight back faltered slightly as he gathered himself.

A not-so-small smile could be seen on his face.

His origin essence, was currently only at 1% its total maximum. And yet-.

"It's done. I've become a Rank 1 liquid quartz Fae Master!".

A wave of.... accomplishment washed over Arthur.

The small drop of origin essence.... seemed so unreal to look at, he couldn't help but let out a laugh.

He slapped his forehead, unable to restrain himself.

A look of self-depreciation could be seen all over his face.

"To think, something that would've taken me more than three months, had been accomplished in just close to six weeks. I did it in less than half the time, and without any sought of repercussions, whatsoever!".

Arthur sighed, shaking his head.

None of that mattered now.

He had learnt from his mistakes.

"While Randolf and all the others are still at vapour quartz, I'm already a liquid quartz Rank 1 Fae Master. This gap will only increase so long as I have the bloodseeker fae".

Arthur's focus turned towards the bloodseeker leaf fae, and used its ability to quickly regenerate origin essence.

The advantages of the bloodseeker leaf fae were more obvious at higher sub-realms, but for the time being it was still more than necessary.

Without the moon essence fae, or the bloodseeker leaf fae, Arthur's cultivation would've taken a bit longer, without such a fae assisting him.

There were large amounts of materials he could use to create a fae with a similar ability within Winter Rain Mountain, however the formation of such a fae wasn't always 100%.

It might take him more than a month to create a single fae for him to cultivate with, and that was only after several failures.

"If I try and speed up my cultivation even further, the others might get suspicious. Having the bloodseeker leaf fae is one thing, but something like the water essence fae, or the origin essence gathering tree was something else entirely!".

Arthur felt the bloodseeker fae produce a smidgen of origin essence, just enough to get him to 2% of his 201% maximum.

Cultivation was something that went against the natural order of the world, so why wouldn't it be difficult to grasp?

The First Man passed down his knowledge through the <First Tale>, and as such, Humanity as a whole had something to stand upon in the face of the Myriad Races.

Arthur passed down his own knowledge, to his previous self, in hopes that he would be able to stand up against the trials of tomorrow. That his future would be brighter, and would be better than what he originally experienced.

If there was one thing Arthur could truly count on in this world.... it was himself.
