217 Ghost Taming

Arthur didn't care how Nyssa, Iryna, Parvan or Zlatanna viewed him, so long as they obeyed him. Of course, problems might ensue if he maintained a negative relationship with them, so it was always best to keep them happy.

Like a baby puppy that had yet to be fully trained.

There was definitely a large gap between puppies and human beings, so Arthur himself needed to make sure he walked a fine line.

However, if some random stranger off the streets wanted to try and make advances towards his property, he naturally wouldn't take kindness to such action. Arthur would treat someone who wanted to take his subordinates the same way as someone who wanted to take his Fae.

With a fake smile and a lot of killing intent.

Using the Spirit Affection Tree Fae, it was easy to influence this Rank 1 Fae material; Wood Spectre Tree, to produce an seed. It might've slightly damaged the vitality of the plant itself, but such a thing was inconsequential in the long run.

Just like Nyssa said, Wood Embryo Seeds can produce Wood Yin Spirits. The type or the rank of Wood Yin Spirits is dependent on the quality and rank of the spirit plant itself, although since the tree wanted to please Arthur, it naturally gave the strongest type of Wood Embryo Seed to him.

Nyssa lifted her arms up, and gently pulled on the large watermelon sized seed, holding in her arms as if a precious piece of jade, or a young child. If left alone, this seed would hatch in a few years time, but if a Fae Master got his hands on it, they could refine it and hatch it within a few weeks.

Similar to corpses, ghosts were also an entity that could be bred and transformed for combat. Ghosts were actually easier to form than corpses, considering that they fed on Thoughts, Emotions, Desires and spiritual essence, rather than flesh, blood and bone.

Raising a few ghosts in the middle of a city might not even be detected by Rank 3 or Rank 4 Fae Masters. Especially if they didn't specialize in investigative type fae.

Speaking of which, by Arthur's rough estimate, this Wood Ghost Embryo Seed probably went for a couple thousand origin essence stones. It was a few ranks higher than just a Wood Spectre, as well as a Wood Remnant, so it's base price was probably around about 1,500 origin essence stones.

Perhaps Nyssa didn't know the actual price of such a thing, but these Fae Masters whom have experienced the wider world of Fae Masters knew exactly how much it costs.

The young man who spoke earlier obviously eyed the Wood Ghost Embryo with an unhidden glint in his eyes. He himself raised ghosts so it was obvious that such a thing could enhance his strength the most if he got his hands on it.

Flashing Nyssa a gentlemanly smile, the young man extended his hand towards Nyssa, as if offering something.

"Miss Nyssa, perhaps you should let me hold onto the Seed. If you'd like, I could also purchase it from you? Considering how common it is in the Azure Envy Continent, how about I buy it from you for 150 origin-".

"1,500 origin essence stones".

The Rank 2 Fae Master's eyes widened, and he gnashed his teeth a little before turning around his eyes locking onto a tall figure.

Arthur met the other man's gaze, with an aloof expression on his face. Staring into the eyes of this young man, this caravan member felt his body shake for a second, before he narrowed his eyes at him.

Even though he wanted to appear elegant and noble, the other man just raised his head slightly, while gazing at Arthur as if he was some homeless trash on the side of the road.

"Young Master Arthur.... was it? My apologies young master, but you are sorely mistaken. In the wider world, Wood Embryo Seeds are not so valuable that they can be sold for such an amount. It must be due to your upbringing and lack of experience that has made you unaware of the greater world, but the price of this item is not nearly as much as you might think".

A few of the other Fae Masters surrounding them rolled their eyes at their fellow caravan member's shamelessness, but didn't say anything, obviously amused by this interaction.

To them, young masters of Clans were individuals that were normally supposed to be honoured, and treated with the utmost respect, lest they get on their bad sides and are hunted down and assaulted in the dead of night.

Arthur, the third young master of the Kovacs Clan, was supposedly someone with the same status and ability as those arrogant second generations, but was from a region hardly visited by Rank 3 Fae Masters, let alone those like them from caravans.

If they could take advantage over the inexperience that Arthur had, even if he was technically correct, then these other Rank 2 Fae Masters would without a doubt.

They were slightly weary, considering he was only seventeen and a Rank 2 Fae Master, but it was nothing that they hadn't seen before. They admitted that he must've been hard working, although from what they had heard, other than hard working, he wasn't very talented.

This Rank 2 Fae Master ignored Arthur completely, and extended his hand towards the Wood Embryo Seed, smirking slightly not at all caring that Nyssa had taken a step back.

"Just hand it over now, and I'll reimburse you before I leave Para-".

The young man's eyes widened, and his head spun around, feeling a hand clamp around his wrist. The distance between him and Arthur wasn't very far, but neither he, nor any of the Fae Masters present detected any signs of origin essence being used!

Seeing Arthur's figure flicker, before reappearing right before him shocked him a little, but he just narrowed his eyes further, pulling his arm back.

Arthur just sent him a sideward glance, placing himself between Nyssa and the other man.

"If you want it, 1,500 origin essence stones. Anything less and we have nothing to talk about".

Arthur knew that they wanted to use the Kovacs Clan Fae Masters inexperience in order to cheat them of some benefits. If they did, then the Elders or the Clan Leader couldn't do anything about it.

In fact, they would blame the purchaser for being tricked or schemed against. Because if that happened to them if they were ever in a large city or a large territory, no-one would stand up for them if they got tricked there.

If they could fight, then by all means they could try and get their wealth back. But if their opponent was stronger, or had a much stronger background, then they either had to be very fast on their feet, or resign themselves and accept this small humiliation.

This Fae Master, whose name if Arthur wasn't mistaken was Alan, glanced at the Wood Embryo Seed, before giving him a polite smile and taking a step back.

It was obvious that he wasn't going to let this matter go.

"If you're going to be so stubborn about things, then keep the Wood Embryo Seed. It doesn't matter if some nobody from such a backward region desires to clutch to their trashy Fae materials anyway".

Arthur didn't even so much as flinch.

"This nobody understands the value of Wood Embryo Seeds much more than an enlightened individual such as yourself. However, if you really think that a Wood Embryo Seed from a Wood Spectre Tree the size of a watermelon would sell for anything less than 1,500 origin essence stones, then you're not enlightened, your an idiot".
