8 Super Aptitude Examination, Off The Charts?

Together with Yuka and Izumi, we entered the massive Super Academy building. Following the thousands of other supers and the road signs, we were led into an enormous auditorium.

Several curious gazes were on me.

"Hey, who's the guy with the two chicks following behind?"

"For real, I was wondering too."

Oh.

It seemed the immaturity of younglings still managed to make its way into this world as well.

'[Genjutsu: Sharingan]'

The two boys' eyes instantly lost focus before they reawakened. By that time, we had already passed by.

Inside, the auditorium was quite an architectural feat. With seats easily numbered in the tens of thousands, and a dome glass ceiling, it was several times larger than the Konoha Dome blueprint. The walls were white with lines of blue light along the sides, illuminating the area.

In the center, a single podium with a microphone stood.

The seats were already mostly filled, and by the time we arrived, only a few hundred more slowly trickled in. After around 30 minutes, the auditorium doors silently shut, and we waited for the speaker.

Swoosh!

The man slowly walked onto the stage, his presence nearly invisible. Madara honed in on the figure with his Mangekyo Sharingan, attempting to unveil his presence. However, something unexpected happened.

Zsssst!

The man's head immediately snapped towards Madara's direction, his eyes making contact with himself.

"Madara, why is he looking at you? Did you use your eye superpower again?" Izumi asked.

My eyes narrowed. This man was dangerous. A smile slowly crept up onto my face.

'Only Hashirama has ever let me feel this type of pressure. Just who are you?'

I felt a sudden urge to use Kamui against him, to test just how strong he was, despite having just been asked by Izumi if I did.

'Was I that predictable?'

However, my hands shivered in anticipation, but I held back, knowing I'd be able to meet him again.

I ignored his lingering stare as I continued to stare at him.

The others seemed to have noticed that the man mysteriously stopped and was looking in a particular direction. Heads began turning, other young super candidates attempting to trace his eyes.

But before they could accurately locate my position, the man turned his head away before arriving at the podium.

Then he unveiled the entirety of his aura.

Zzzshwoooom!

His aura erupted in unstoppable waves, sending waves of wind in all directions. Even though I had been seated far up the auditorium seats, my hair blew backward.

This was from his presence alone.

A dense layer of red supernatural energy enveloped his body, making his appearance akin to a god.

Was this, perhaps, the power of a CATASTROPHE super (S rank)?

"Hello, young supers," His words rang out with authority. "And welcome to my Super Academy. I am the Headmaster; Catastrophe ranked super: Ignatius."

'He was the Headmaster. A fitting presense for someone of his renown.'

"I will get straight to the point. I am here to find and train seeds with potential. Those who perform well on aptitude tests will receive more attention than others. Those with potential will receive powerful instructors who have already made their mark on the world."

"However, the talented will be both hated and revered. We will mark those with talent blatantly. Our Academy will have a ranking system based on combat ability. Those who perform better and use their potential will rise in rankings. And those at the very top will become revered figures who understand what it means to be a superhero."

"However, it is not enough to have potential. The Super Academy values those who have good moral character. While talent is good, what benefit does it bring if our enemies can manipulate them? What good does it do if the talented turn on each other?"

"Therefore, I order all of you to be the best that you can be, to be better than you were yesterday, to be more strong-willed, to be resistant to evil, and to be a superhero."

"That is all."

Then his presence disappeared, along with the Headmaster himself.

The countless young supers roared in anticipation. Even Izumi and Yuka clapped in support.

'Foolish. The Headmaster immediately establishes a hierarchy of power, condemning those with weak abilities to mere worshippers of the strong. In reality, the outcome is obvious. The supers who constantly live in the shadow of the greater will inevitably grow to be the supposed villains we must defeat. And he expects this system to bring peace? He wants a world where these 'superheroes' rule the world.'

'Nonsense. A world can only have true peace by demonstrating absolute power.'

'It seems I must demonstrate who I am to the rest of the world, starting from this little school of kids.'

I smirked.

☙☙☙☙☙

The tens of thousands of students were split into many groups. Each group would enter their respective chamber that contained a Super Aptitude Evaluator. It was time for the Super Aptitude Evaluation, where supers would obtain a value representing the entirety of their worth.

I glanced back at the two girls beside me.

Will these two have any potential?

'If they can't keep up with me, it's their fault for being weak.'

I shrugged and went into my respective evaluation chamber.

The room was not nearly as big, but still large enough to contain hundreds of young supers. At the center of the stage, a giant floating obelisk shined with supernatural runes and an indescribable aura.

The instructor dedicated to the room gave a short explanation.

"I will call your name, and you will place your hand on the device until you hear your ability rank. D Rank supers will receive a gray-colored uniform. C Rank supers will receive a green one, B will receive blue, A will receive purple, and S will receive gold. Then you will follow this hallway and enter the room for the Awakening."

"Kahi Sanjuro"

A short Asian girl walked to the obelisk and placed her hand on it.

"C Rank"

"I guess... that's okay," she whispered as she left.

"Ben Tarry"

"Oh, is he from the 'Tarry' family? That'll be exciting," one person from the crowd murmured.

"Yeah, I heard they are all strong espers."

A blond-haired boy walked confidently to the obelisk. He placed his hand on the device.

"D Rank," the machine replied monotonously.

"WHAT?!" The boy roared.

"D Rank, move along," the instructor repeated.

"No! That can't be right?! Try it again!" He wailed.

"I said. Move along."

"PLEASE! I'LL LOSE EVERYTHING IF I'M ONLY A D RANK"

BANG!

The instructor sent the boy flying out of the room with a slap. A yellow glow enveloped the instructor's hand.

"Next."

The entire room went quiet. And after that, even though many were discontent with their results, no one else dared to make a large fuss.

Several dozen names later, it was finally my turn.

"Olivia Walstrom"

"D Rank"

"Fucking hell, man."

She walked out discontentedly.

"Madara... Uchiha"

The instructor slightly paused before saying my family name. He looked up at me in slight surprise.

I confidently walked down the stairs towards the obelisk.

On the way down, I heard others talking.

"Wait, is he from THAT Uchiha family?"

"The one with the insanely powerful bloodline ability?"

"I didn't know they had a kid..."

"Whatever, I'm hella excited what he'll get?"

"Maybe he'll get D Rank like that other loser."

"Hahahaha!"

[Genjutsu: Sharingan]

They immediately shut up before staring listlessly at the wall.

'So talkative for weaklings.'

I walked up to the obelisk. It was silver in color, with red lines running all over it. In the center, a floating red crystal pulsed with light.

I placed my hand against the device and immediately poured my immense chakra reserves in one go.

'Time to give them a little show. Let's see what happens.'

The obelisk lit up in bright light.

"Holy shit! Why is it suddenly glowing?"

"Who the fuck knows? As expected of the Uchiha clan, every family member is a bunch of monsters."

"..."

"..."

Five seconds in, there was still nothing.

I looked back at the instructor.

"What's my ability rank?" I asked.

He gestured towards the machine.

I looked back and examined the obelisk closely.

Clouds of my blue chakra moved randomly throughout the obelisk. The blue swirls of my chakra were slowly condensing before they entered the red crystal in the center.

"S+ Rank," the machine finally spoke.

It was silent for about three seconds before it went into chaos.

"That's the power of the Uchiha Family?!"

"There's a rank above S?!"

"If S Rank is beyond catastrophe, just what exactly is S+?"

"What did I just witness? I'm not the only one seeing this, am I?"

"I'm seeing it too."

"What a monster."

I turned back towards the dumbfounded instructor.

"Where can I find the S+ uniform?"

"... We don't have one. Just take a golden uniform."

I grabbed the golden uniform before leaving.

I entered the hallway and saw several changing rooms scattered on both sides. I quickly found an empty one and quickly got changed.

The uniform was primarily white but had several gold highlights. The uniform was made of dense microfibers, promoting its strength and durability. Although the material was excellent, I preferred my black and red plate armor.

Regarding the outcome of the Aptitude Evaluation, I was not surprised. In all honesty, I had already been confident that I would receive at least S. With the chakra I possessed, the S+ bloodline I inherited, and the supernatural abilities I had yet to unlock, my potential was guaranteed to be high.

It was a pity my evaluation was done so early. I couldn't see if there were other kids with high potential, but I suppose it didn't matter much, considering I would be seeing them soon enough if they were powerful enough.

I made my way to the Super Awakening Room with my fresh uniform. The door to the room immediately opened as I neared it. A voice sounded deep from within the room.

"Please come in, Madara Uchiha. You will now awaken your super abilities."
