9 Super Ability Awakening, A Mysterious Energy

"Please come in, Madara Uchiha. You will now awaken your super abilities."

The voice came from a projection inside the room. At the back of the room, a small round set of symbols grouped into a circle gave off light particles that came together to look like a person. The condensed light seemed distorted, half transparent, and utterly stationary, most likely limited to the symbols on the ground.

Its voice and appearance were androgynous, making it more akin to a talking machine with the form of a human than simply a projection of an actual human.

I entered the room and surveyed my surroundings.

The room was hexagonal in design; the walls bent at 120 degrees inward until they came together at the end of the room. It was pitch black, other than a pool of fluorescent, bright blue liquid in the center of the room. The contrast was far too eye-catching for it to be simply decoration.

"That is Awakening Fluid used to awaken super abilities within supers. Awakening Stones originate from this fluid, as the liquid condensed from the Awakening Fluid gives rise to Awakening Stones," the projection spoke as if reading my line of sight.

I nodded before approaching the pool. I focused on the flowing Awakening Fluid, attempting to derive more information. Impossibly dense energy circulated throughout the liquid. Suddenly, a familiar blue screen popped up in front of me.

[Ding!]

[Hidden Mission Acquired - 'Awakening Fluid']

Conditions: Absorb [???]

Reward: New energy type acquired

'Is this new energy type simply referring to the superpower I will unlock? Or will it provide a new type of energy I can use separate from my abilities?'

I asked the robot, "Where did the Awakening Fluid come from?"

"That information is confidential. However, the effects are real and have no major consequences. Submerge yourself in the Awakening Fluid, and the effects will be immediate.'

I placed my foot into the water. Immediately, I noticed the mysterious energy entering my body. I continued to lower myself until only the top of my head was visible. Energy began seeping into my body at a much faster rate.

A surge of energy continued to flow into my body. The energy felt far more potent than Hashirama's cells, its effect almost maddeningly addicting as I felt nearly all-powerful.

My body greedily absorbed the Laniakean Energy in the pool. I absorbed so much energy that the pool began slightly losing its glow.

The pool had lost nearly all its fluorescence, leaving behind a sad husk of its former glory. However, I paid no heed to it as a new notification resounded, the sound more beautiful than the others.

I immediately clicked 'Y,' and my vision went black.

Beep... Beep... Beep... Beep

The sound of a machine was the first thing I heard before realizing what was happening.

My eyes shot open as I immediately leaped forward onto my feet. White walls surrounded me, with a white bed behind me. There was a constant surge of new energy flowing through my body, and I felt as if I could lift items with my mind, punch down walls with my strength, or even slightly levitate with a single thought. This must have been the effect of unlocking my new abilities.

I ignored the series of [Ding!]'s in the background.

The many needles plugged into my bloodstream were yanked out, and the 'saline solution' dripped onto the floor.

I was in a hospital.

I quickly gathered up my last thoughts before my vision darkened.

'I was in the Awakening Room... I obtained a new energy type... my abilities evolved... then I blacked out.'

What a foolish mistake.

I would have been entirely vulnerable to attacks if I were in combat. I reminded myself never to evolve in any possible danger unless in dire situations.

The projection must have called for help from the Super Academy's infirmary, and they have not realized I have awoken. They would eventually figure it out. But for now, after deciding that I was safe, I excitedly pulled up the many system notifications I had.

My Susanoo has become stronger again. I clicked on the blue screen indicating the ability.

I noticed that my Susanoo remained in the upper body form, the only difference being the addition of 'energy' in the ability skill. I remember learning the massive difference between the A and S ranks. Just how much stronger has my Susanoo become? I was tempted to use Susanoo immediately but thought against it, considering I did not know precisely what the consequences would be.

I moved on to the next most awaited skill. I immediately clicked on [Permanent Ability Empowerment]. An additional blue screen popped up into my vision.

I immediately clicked [Laniakean Energy].

I expected this, so I immediately turned and clicked [Energy Arts].

Unfortunate. It seems the skill was limited to abilities at or below its rank. Now I had to decide whether I wanted to enhance [Telekinesis], [Super Strength], or [Flight].

I selected [Flight]. After all, being able to watch from the high ground would be a massive combat advantage compared to being a little stronger at lifting objects. I was confident my new [Energy Arts] was far more potent and robust than my super abilities, even if they were enhanced.

Unfortunately, I was met by a disappointing cooldown.

There was a year-long cooldown. On the good side, however, the Flight skill would reach a high rank in only a few years if I chose not to upgrade the other abilities.

Overall, it was beautiful. An evil grin crept up my face as a new way of improvement opened up before me. I had always sought to become stronger, as becoming unstoppable was a prerequisite for establishing lasting peace in the world.

'It seems I will be able to be in better shape than I thought for Super Academy. I wonder if Izumi and Yuka obtained anything worthwhile.'

Although the super abilities seemed weak now, I was reassured by the {Rank-up Not Met} and my newly unlocked bloodline ability.

This once again brought up the question, what exactly was the system? Just how did it have the ability to evolve chakra itself? Was it the creators of the chakra? The ones who provided chakra to the Shinobi World? Or was it something completely different?

While I was contemplating what precisely the system was, the door to my hospital room opened.

A nurse dressed in a familiar hospital uniform walked in. Unfortunately, I didn't recognize her.

'Pity, it would have been a convenient moment to get rid of the ones who saw me at my weakest.'

'After all, coming across individuals who thought I was weak would be quite inconvenient.'

The nurse had a generic appearance: dark brown eyes and relatively dark skin. Her expression was exhausted, and she seemed stressed.

'Overworked, perhaps.'

"Are you Madara Uchiha?"

"Yes, that would be me."

"Please report to your superclass. It will be in building 2A, 3rd floor. Oh, your uniform is hung right outside the room. Congratulations on awakening an S rank potential!" She smiled tiredly before quickly leaving.

"Who is my instructor?" I called out.

"Oh! Headmaster Ignatius himself will teach all S rank seeds!"
