Birth and Return of Madara Uchiha

My name is Stephen Mitofsky, referred to by the public as Doctor Magnifer. And today is when everything went wrong. Well, it would be more accurate to say everything went perfectly until that Uchiha baby came into the picture.

As one of the most qualified surgeons at SuperHealth System, I was a promising candidate to take on more high-profile or prestigious 'opportunities'. 'Opportunities' as in big operations involving important figures like celebrities, politicians, or supers. Although my super abilities had not catered towards [healing] or [regeneration] or [restoration], my skills worked well in conjunction with each other as they allowed me to diagnose patients and offer comprehensive treatment plans accurately.

And a few weeks ago, an 'opportunity' came. And it was the upcoming childbirth from the most powerful family in the United States: the Uchiha family.

I wasn't worried. Why? Childbirth rarely went wrong. In a modern world with plenty of clinical data on childbirth with advanced medical technology, dying from pregnancy was a thing of the past. So it was bewildering to me that they wanted a highly qualified surgeon to take on the task of building a team of skilled nurses and doctors to watch over a simple operation.

Hey, but I'm not complaining. The millions that went into hiring these top nurses and doctors came from the Uchiha family, not me. Plus, more funding meant my share of the pie increased.

So... why would someone go to this extent to ensure this operation was a 100% success? Since it involved the future Uchiha family head's successor. That's right, this child would eventually take over the Uchiha family head's position as the most influential person in America, if not the entire world.

And how did they become the most powerful?

It was their bloodline, the Uchiha family's prized S+ bloodline power [Permanent Ability Empowerment], also referred to as the Midas Touch of super abilities.

Bloodlines were incredibly rare, with only a handful of powerful families maintaining them. And the reason behind it? No one knew. It was a closely guarded secret by the bloodline families. However, there were a lot of conspiracies out there. One is that bloodlines weaken and dilute if a child's parents are under the bloodline's inherent rank. So, if a D ranked super married to an Uchiha (which would never happen), the child's bloodline would be diluted beyond repair, with the bloodline power [Permanent Ability Empowerment] completely disappearing.

But even among the few bloodlines remaining, the Uchiha's bloodline was the best among the best. Why? Because it could change the inherent potential of a super: their ability rank. An ability rank differed from a class rank, usually determined by birth. But Uchiha's revolutionary bloodline allowed one to enhance it. While [Permanent Ability Empowerment] could only be used once for the vast majority of supers, few managed to utilize the Midas Touch twice. However, no one knew what caused it, other than that the Uchiha family had a greater chance of doing so.

In a world where supers reigned supreme, everyone wanted more power. And by utilizing their priceless power, they could rope almost every super onto their side. No super would willingly give up the chance to increase their innate potential. Even I took this chance to improve my potential, raising my [Improved Mental Processing] to rank B. Unfortunately, I did not have the inherent potential to increase my [Eye Magnification] ability. However, the cost was a lifelong allegiance to the Uchiha family. In this case, the debt relationship with the Uchiha family has allowed me to perform this operation. And unfortunately, it all went downhill from there.

"BAM!"

I abruptly stood up as the chair I was sitting in me propelled and hit the wall behind me with a bang. My hands were shaking from excitement as the best opportunity in a lifetime had come. In my hands, I held a wrinkled sheet of paper containing details on the matriarch of the Uchiha family, Victoria Uchiha, who was now nine months pregnant. It would be a top-secret operation, and none of the details could be leaked outside the operation table. After all, one's true identity is incredibly precious in super society.

A simple childbirth operation.

Childbirth is one of the most common things in a family that happens tens of thousands of times daily. And considering today's medical advancements, it might as well be a walk in the park. I had been notified only a few hours in advance, along with several other highly qualified doctors and nurses. Technology had progressed with the help of supers, and it was possible to predict the exact time of birth. The Uchiha family had even gotten in contact with supers with the ability of foresight to predict exactly when this would happen.

Best of all, I would lead the operation. This means getting the most recognition and being on the Uchiha family's good side.

I shivered in excitement again as I thought of the possibilities for my future. And it once again made me realize that I had no room for error. Nothing, absolutely nothing, can go wrong.

After burning the sheet of paper, I quickly got together with my newly formed team and worked with them to formulate a simple plan. One watching vitals, two doctors prepared for a cesarian surgery in case something happened (I highly doubted I would need it), and several nurses acted as midwives. It was an over-the-top procedure that already guaranteed the success of the operation. The health report on Victoria Uchiha stated she was as healthy as possible. I was almost positive she was a high-ranked super to go along with it.

An hour later, the operation began. It was going exactly as planned until it didn't.

"What's happened?!" I shouted to the midwives.

"You need to push, madam!" Several midwives (nurses) exclaimed.

"I am! The baby... it's pushing against me. I can't!!! I feel a burning sensation in me!"

"But you must still push, madam!"

"I'M TELLING YOU THAT I AM!" She replied in frustration.

I couldn't figure out the problem, but it was not good and possibly even life-threatening. After all, having a baby stuck in the mother would lead to rapid blood loss.

The matriarch began bleeding at a much higher rate than before. Something was inhibiting the release of the baby.

"Doctor Magnifer, her vitals are decreasing, and her heartrate is increasing."

"I know. Attempt to calm her down and continue monitoring the situation."

The stalemate between the mother and the baby continued for half an hour. No progress was made, despite her water breaking an hour prior. There was no more time.

Until I could figure out what was going on, I would try to maintain the traditional birth route unless the situation wors-

"DOCTOR, PATIENT HAS LOST CONSCIOUSNESS!" One of the nurses yelled out.

"HEARTRATE SPIKING, MINOR BLOOD LOSS!"

"Move to a C-section immediately! Prepare the scalpel, administer pain medication," I ordered the medical team.

'Shit shit shit shit, why is everything going wrong right now!' I thought to myself.

Unexpectedly, the operation had come across its first significant difficulty. I gritted my teeth, knowing that my opportunity was getting farther away by the moment. I could still salvage the situation if I could get the infant out as soon as possible. Any more lost time could lead to severe blood loss or even death. Scars could be healed, while death was irreversible.

After we made the preparations, I quickly began working the scalpel. I made a vertical cut from her belly button down several inches. The doctors used the retractors to keep the cut open.

The baby was exposed. I reached out and picked up the baby. It had black hair and white skin. Then it opened its eyes and looked at me.

I breathed in relief.

"Final-"

'It did what?! Why are its eyes bleeding?! What is that teardrop shape in his ey-'

Leaves suddenly whirled around me as my vision changed.

Doctor Magnifer, holding the baby, suddenly stood still as if shocked. Then he did the worst possible thing.

He dropped the baby. The God of Shinobi. And it fell.

Time slowed down to a fraction. Most of the nurses stared in shock. The baby was still falling, closer and closer to the ground. Its umbilical cord was still attached to its belly button, its eyes bleeding but wide open as a red eye with a teardrop in its iris stared at full force at Doctor Magnifer before quickly flickering to the other doctors. All of this happened in a split second.

A split second later, the doctor nearest to Doctor Magnifer quickly dropped to catch the falling baby. And just before Madara's head hit the hard marble floor, the doctor barely caught him.

"What the hell are you doing, Doctor Magnifer!" One of the midwives yelled impulsively in anger.

However, Doctor Magnifer was completely unresponsive. Its eyes stared into space as his hands were by his side. After all, he was under the effects of Madara's genjutsu. But none of the others knew that.

After realizing the doctor's unresponsiveness, the team of medical professionals quickly continued the operation on their own, cutting the umbilical cord and closing up the womb. However, their attention soon returned to the most important part of the operation: the baby.

"Anyone else notice how the baby acted? Its eyes were open, and it was looking at all of us."

"Yeah... it was a little unnerving."

"It wasn't crying or anything too. Like what kind of baby doesn't cry?"

"Did it awaken its super ability?"

"That's impossible! It takes years for them to awaken!"

"Then how do you explain its red eyes?"

"Look at it!"

All the nurses and doctors then stared at the baby in the doctor's hand.

The baby stared back. And then it laughed.
