|Chapter One|

Shoot I'm going to be late, I think running through the school doors. I overslept because I kept snoozing, has anyone ever done that?

Anyway now I'm about to be late for class which has only ever happened like once, well now I think it'll be twice.

I skipped going to my locker and just ran to class knowing that if I stopped I would be even later if anything.

Right as the bell rang I yanked the door open and ran into the classroom..... crashing right into the teacher.... knocking both of us to the ground.

"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry Mr. Lancaster" I apologized profusely as I tried to get up hearing the class snickering behind me. I finally got up and tried to help up Mr. Lancaster.

"Just take a seat Ms. Gonzalez" he growled getting up from the floor. I nodded and put my head down blushing as I walked by my giggling classmates.

Throughout that whole class people kept looking back at me giggling to each other. Altogether that class was horrible.

It is finally lunch time so I go to my locker to put some things away before I went to the cafeteria. "Hey" I heard behind me making me jump before I spun around to see who it was. "Oh, you scared me" I said to my friend Sarah.

"So what happened in History?" she asked as we started walking. Wow things sure do spread fast. I mean this is high school so I don't know what I....that thought was cut off was cut of when I bumped into a wall....an actual wall.

Sarah burst out laughing while I rubbed my head blushing. I can't believe I just did that way to ruin my day even more wall.

"It's not funny" I growled out at Sarah. "You're right it's hilarious!" she said cackling loudly.

I stormed away from her going to the lunch line, I grabbed a burger and fries with a water then went to pay.

"That'll be $9.00" the lunch lady said after ringing me up.

I went to grab my wallet from my bag when Bailey Henderson came up and handed her a ten.

"I've got it lil lady" he said winking. Ugh, I can't stand him he's had a crush on me since I came to this school in Sophomore year. He's a total muscle head and he constantly bothers me even after I constantly say no.

I huffed and stomped to my table after hearing him say "keep the change".

I slammed my tray down on the table as I sat down. Like why can't he seriously take a hint. "Hey Lyric...I was wondering if you would like to go on a date with me?" He said when he stopped beside me.

OMG!! Ok be nice Lyric, "Sorry I can't I already have one" I lied

"What! With who!" he all but yelled.

Ok I guess that was not the smartest idea but he doesn't seem to take no for an answer, I mean what would you do.

I guess the next person through the door is my date. Just as I thought of this Hunter Rodriguez walked through the door. Oh no, not him he's the schools bad boy no way I'm saying it's him.

"Is it him" Bailey growled out, "Yes" I said wincing slightly, what have I done.

Bailey growled again cracking his knuckles and storming over to Hunter. Oh no, oh no!

When he got to Hunter the whole lunch room got silent because Bailey hates Hunter and vice versa. It's been that way for a while because Bailey is jealous that Hunter gets more girls than him. I face palmed as I got up because things started to get intense, and by intense I mean Bailey started shoving Hunter.

I hurried over just as Hunter raised his fist and grabbed him around the waist from behind not wanting to get hit. I was able to tug him back a tiny bit but it wasn't very far.

"Lyric, what are you doing" shouted Bailey, I peeked out from around Hunter with an awkward smile since everyone was looking at me.

" Umm, giving out free hugs" I said squeezing Hunter a little. I saw the corners of Hunters mouth turn up but Bailey just look ready to strangle me. He shook his head and stormed off. I quickly let go of Hunter once he was out of the lunch room. Everyone was still watching us but one look from Hunter and they turned back to their conversations.

"Well bye" I squeaked out turning away and running back to my table only to see a shocked Sarah with her eyes bucked and mouth wide open.

"What was that" she said shaking my shoulders. "Nothing" I said waving her off and grabbing a fry even though inside I was still kind of shaken up. "It doesn't seem like nothing to Hunter" she said nodding her hard to something behind me. I turned around and saw Hunter watching me. I blushed turning around, what have I gotten myself into.

It's finally the end of the day and I'm ecstatic because I've had enough drama for one day. I head to my locker to grab what I need for homework. "Fudge you locker" I said slamming my hand down on it. I can never get this piece of crap open. I was about to give up until someone came up behind me and put their arms around me to get to the lock. They unlocked my locker and I quickly turned around to see who it was, man was that a mistake.

It was Hunter, I murmured out a quick "thank you" as I turned a deep shade of red.

"You're welcome little one" he said, omg his voice is beautiful. I grabbed what I needed from my locker slammed it shut, ducked around Hunter and ran out of the school.
