The bodies definitely symbolised the entrance to the inner dungeon.

Dungeon monsters inside intermediate dungeons, and even some in beginner dungeons, have the intelligence to mark their territory, which usually consisted of the inner dungeon, this was done by claw marks on the walls or sometimes even bodies from past Adventurers.

It was a sign to all who dared to enter that you could end up being killed if you entered.

Dungeons consisted of three parts; The outer dungeon, which was the least guarded area with the most traps, the inner dungeon, which was the most guarded area and finally the Boss room, which held the Boss of the dungeon and sometimes even a few champions.

Lex was quite lucky that Skeletons didn't know how to set up traps, he knew how to avoid quite a few of them, but he also knew he wouldn't have been able to avoid them with his current level.

He looked towards the other side of the corridor where he saw the Skeleton Knight standing dead centre of the path.

Lex quickly got into a dim corner and made himself as small as possible in order to not be spotted.

He closed his eyes to not panic and tried to focus on his breathing.

The dense air felt as if it was corrupting his lungs every time he took a breath, the stench of the dead bodies didn't help the situation. Lex proceeded to cover his nose and breathe through his mouth with each breath expanding his chest.

He slowly started to open his right eye, he could see the silhouette of the Skeleton Knigth approaching him, each step made got progressively louder as the Knight came closer to him.

The Skeleton Knight stopped abruptly around five meters away from Lex before turning around and walking away.

Lex waited until the thuds from the Skeleton Knight's boots were so faint he could barely hear them before moving.

Lex finally relaxed all the muscles in his body, 'I almost just ended up with the others.' Lex thought to himself as he looked over to the pile of bodies while gulping down dry saliva.

He knew that this would be frowned upon but he needed equipment if he didn't want to join them so Lex decided to "borrow" a few things.

'Hopefully, they have some food or water!' Lex exclaimed along with his stomach.

Lex found some usable items along with a bit of food that didn't smell too good and water. He quickly ate the food and drank the water, before looking at the items that would be of any use to him.

Lex figured he should pick up a chest plate, boots and two shortswords. He decided it was best to travel light to not exhaust himself.

The second he took the chest plate off the dead body a message popped up in front of him.

'Woah, it tells me the armour's stats!' Lex thought with a smile, he quickly picked up the two shortswords on the ground holding them in both hands.

'This is very convenient, shopping will be easy!' Lex thought as he pictured himself walking around a blacksmith's store finding the best equipment before finally taking some boots.

He wasn't too happy with using shortswords but he had to do whatever he needed to survive, he recalled his time in the game as the Berserker class and he preferred dual-wielding axes to almost anything in the game.

'This will have to do for now.' He thought to himself whilst looking at the shortswords with displeasure before looking around a little bit more.

Lex also tried to find some jewellery but couldn't find any to help his wisdom stat. Just as he was about to leave he looked over and saw a scroll sitting inside one of the Adventurers coat pockets.

'That confirms it, they were definitely Adventurers.' Lex thought to himself as he grabbed the scroll. He opened the scroll and before he could start reading a message appeared in front of him.

Lex was puzzled by this he didn't know if he should. 'Even if I did turn this quest in with proof there's no way they would believe someone without an Adventurer Licence finished this quest.' Lex thought to himself as he selected yes by extending his finger.

As soon as he touched the yes button the scroll in his hand was coated in a void-like black aura and vanished.

Rewards: 1000 EXP & ???

Lex was relieved he did choose to consume the quest scroll, the rewards were really good for him right now since he needed to get stronger.

'Alright, I think I should do some grinding now!' Lex exclaimed as he finished putting on his new armour and grabbed his two new shortswords tightly.
