25 Magnetic Touch, Burning Kiss, and Owning Red

"Wha-what? How is- how is that even possible?" I floundered in my words, my mind totally blank.

I was completely lost. So lost that I didn't even realize he had called me by that....darn nickname which set my insides on fire and melted my intestines into a puddle.

Erina.

F-ck! That name did stuff to me.

"Can't you feel this, my Queen?"

Ack, my heart! Does he want to kill me?

He brought our intertwined hands up to our eye level, all the while electricity coursed through my veins and blood at his exhilarating touch.

"Don't you feel this?" His warm palm touched my cheek tenderly with utmost care. And I swear all my organs flipped and changed positions.

"Don't you feel this?" His broad arm wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer to him, and I gasped as I pressed my free hand on his broad chest, feeling nothing but hard muscles.

My face felt as if it was on fire, a vivid testament to the feelings I didn't know to name.

"Don't you feel this?" His palm cupping my face moved to the back of neck, pulling me even closer than before, and his hot breath directly hit me in the face.

I feel like I am going to combust. My heart was beating so loud that I could count the beats per minute. All the blood in my body had rushed to my pale face, tainting it a bright red. My chest was so tight with undescribable feelings that I couldn't help but let out a groan..

"I do. I feel this and so much more." I must have gone mad or lost my mind, because no way in hell did I say that.

I was panting despite not running or doing any strenuous physical activity. I was out of breath while he remained perfectly composed.

Or at least seemed like perfectly composed. If his tight locked jaw and slow breaths wasn't a telltale sign.

The air between us seemed to hum with unspoken words, and the atmosphere was charged with an undeniable magnetism.

Ares's eyes, like dark pools of intrigue, held my gaze, and his breath mingled with mine in a tantalizing dance. Our closeness was intoxicating, each passing second drawing us nearer to a precipice of desire.

I could feel his warmth, his presence, and the unspoken words that hung heavily in the air. It was as if the universe had conspired to bring us together in that fragile moment, and I couldn't help but lean in, my lips parting slightly in anticipation.

What the heck are you doing, Sera?! Oh my- why did I do that? F-ck, I am so embarrassed!

Does he think I am weird? Does he think I am being desperate?

"You don't know how much you make me want to lose all my control, my Queen."

My Queen. He called me his.

Thump. Thump. Thump.

Just as our lips hovered a mere inch apart, a distant sound, a rustle of leaves or a distant chime, broke whatever trance we were stuck in.

We were both frozen, our breaths held, and as our eyes met once again, his were clouded with a tinge of amusement and disappointment.

Did I look the same to him?

His hold on my loosened and I didn't waste a single second to turn around from him, and tightly clutched my bursting chest.

I am dying. I am dying. I am dying. I am dying. O my Gosh!

An inferno of red consumed my entire face, extending all the way to my ears, radiating a heat that matched the intensity of my emotions.

Were we- were we about to kiss?

Had we not gotten interrupted by that damn sound, would we..would we have kissed?

Ares let out a soft, rueful chuckle, breaking the tension, as my ears relaxed at the beautiful melody.

"It seems fate has other plans for us tonight." He whispered, his voice rough and husky, underlying with a hint of despondence and teasing.

I nodded, my heart still racing. "Uhun." I replied, my voice barely a breath.

I was lost for words. I had no idea what to say, or think, or comprehend.

The only thing that I knew was that I was down for the lycan king. Bad.

"Do you accept it now?" I slowly turned to face him again. A sudden scarlet rush engulfed my face as I looked at him, again as if my blush had taken a life of its own.

"Accept what?" I looked away from him to fix my eyes on the flowers on the bluish greenery in front of me. The tree was easier to look at. It didn't set me ablaze, as his gaze did. As he did.

He put his warm hand on top of mine, which was resting on the wooden patio beside me, and I gulped, trying my level best to hide all the inappropriate thoughts that circled my mind.

No, f-cking control yourself!

"This fire, this undeniable connection, this electrifying feeling."

I dared to sneak a glance at him, and I almost wished I didn't as I broke into a blushing fit for the nth time. His eyes were dark, yet softened up for me. At me.

For a person who doesn't know shit about emotions or feelings, I sure seemed to be blushing a lot around him. Heck, that was becoming a constant.

Just the name Ares is enough to light me up in flames.

"Yes, yes, I accept it. I accept it all."

That you're my mate. My mate. Mine.

Though it still felt like a faraway dream. Utterly serene and unbelievable.

My head snapped to his side again, as I heard some rustling, and found him standing up to leave.

Is he going?

And am I feeling disappointed?

"I am sorry for cutting our time short, but for the sake of our future, there are some plans that must be made."

Our future. That sounded....nice. Warm. Happy.

He broke me out of my thoughts by bending down and pressing his lips to my forehead.

A burning hue swept across my face, intense and unmistakable in its display. I wasn't even surprised at this point.

"Uhun, I am going to..going to..yeah."

I blabbered like a fool, while he cast one pretty smile at me and turned around to leave.

Even his back is ravishing.

"Red is a pretty color on you. It suits you perfectly." With that, he was completely gone.

And so I burned in red again.
