Pun fox bar

"She said no?" Kartik was saying as they sat on the bar stool, drinking.

"For now." Sahil took another sip from his beer bottle, he's been too much in his head for so long that Haity denying his offer for a coffee hit out where it hurts.

He wasn't able to to get around his head over what happened at the book store and hence decided to drown himself in the sweet jam of burning liquid.

With only Kartik free that night, he immediately called him and arranged a boys night out, now here they were, drinking bottles on bottles of beer while glass of fancy wine circulated around others who sat by them on their dance breaks.

"Did you not persuade man. I thought you were pretty good at that." Kartik said taking a leering look on Iana Mamita's lean toned body.

Iana was one of the bartenders at the Puns Fox bar and along with that, ex-girlfriend of Kartik who threw him out of her house for cheating but still remained in talking term.

"Aren't you over her yet?" Sahil asked trying to distract himself from his own emotional tornado.

"Talk about you, what's your plan for the chick?"

"Don't know, think might need some."

"You do need some man. Look at that hot case in blue. She clearly is into you man."

Sahil turned to see a woman in blue dress sipping onto her drink, she noticed his eyes on her and gave a genuine smile which Sahil took as an invite.

"Not in mood." Sahil dismissed the thought and drove back inside the red bottle.

"You do like her though, don't you?" Kartik asked.

"I like her. I'm going to date her, I'm going to humiliate her and she would wish she never stopped that day. Today was a failure but not that last chance of my life. Kartik when you have this intense desire to own someone and then leave them wanting and waiting, that's when you have your revenge and I'm going to do that with her."

"You sound out of your mind dude. I thought revenge part was a joke at the party."

"It wasn't." Sahil could make out the conflict between his mind and mouth, but ignored it stoically to focus of what his mouth was spilling.

It was almost 10 and people were still arriving, every ones in 5 or so minutes, the door across the bar would open and a group of teenagers or adults would enter, already giving in to the music.

Finally Sahil and Kartik too decided to join others on the dance floor and hence, lifting up their bottles in hands, started moving to the rhythm buzzing in the room. Room full of drunk kids was all he needed to forget the woman he was longing for. Everytime that he closed his eyes, the woman with, skin smoother than any other, eyes darker and than he's ever seen, and body, mesmerising to the end of the world appears in the turmoiled brain of his.

Kartik was now dancing close and intimately with an unknown girl while Sahil was still drowned into the thoughts of Haity. Despite accepting in front of his closest friends, that he was out for revenge, he knew, it was just an excuse to be near Haity without raising eyes around.

Sahil always considered himself to be the person who would not give a thought to what people think about him but somewhere deep, he was afraid to accept that he did. Maybe he still had that maturity level to reach to.

"Hey handsome." Sahil opened his eyes and glanced into the smoky brown eyes of a girl 5'9 feet tall, i.e., still a few less than himself.

Without another word Sahil turned and approched the empty bar.

He sat on one of the bar stools and signed for the bartender for a pair of shots.

"Girlfriend troubles?" The same girl followed him and settled beside on another bar stool.

"You some shrink?" Sahil said gulping both the shots back to back in seconds.

"No but I'm not drunk and you are. I have been watching you and your creep friend, the one who just left with a girl so you might need a lift home."

"I can go by myself." Sahil attempted to stand up but stumbled back to table.

"Woah easy boy. What's your deal?"

"I can't stop thinking about the woman I have to humiliate in front of the world."

"Are you for real? Is this some lovers revenge?"

"No, no, no, no. She humiliated me in the middle of road now I want a get back at her."

"This ain't you but you inner child talking. You want to stay close to her, don't you?"

Sahil stood up again, this time, with the support and crossed the bar to leave, now feeling more sober than before.

With Corduroy pants and casual sweatshirt, he could be easily misunderstood with a college student but the reality is, he was a graduate in business management, with top academic results.

To his mother's disappointment he joined the swimming club as instructor but she too came on board, looking at her son, happy and thriving in his job.

"Did you have a good time?" Sahil heard someone say in the parking lot of the club, he ignored the voice and dialled the cab to drop him home, considering his drunk state, driving was the worst idea he could come up with.

"Yes I had a great time at dinner. Thank you Roy." Haity's voice, unintentionally, froze him in the tracks.

Sahil, to his utmost despair, turned to the pair walking towards the Puns Fox bar entrance across the parking space and saw Haity with another man.

The woman he had been dreaming of, whole evening was looking goddess gorgeous in skin tight yellow dress that goes down to the mid thighs and bare shoulders leave Sahil almost drooling.

To her left, walked, a man in mid 30s wearing dress suit and pants giving out no nonsense vibes.

Out of context and mind already, Sahil couldn't stop himself from being attracted by this unimaginable scenario as he walked towards the two, laughing and chatting animatedly.
