10 ten:

Third-person POV

"We were looking forward to having great partners turns out we would actually get lucky enough to get a chance with one of the biggest companies known to mankind," A well-dressed average looking guy exclaimed while shaking the hands of Drake.

Drake hardly ever shakes hands with anyone but he was quite impressed by the meeting they had just finished having with the CEO of Center Co and he felt he deserved a handshake.

"Send in the official contract proposal tomorrow," Drake said and they both got up and bade themselves good but before leaving the meeting room.

Outside the meeting room, Gary was waiting outside for Mr Drake to come out and when he did he followed him into the elevator preparing himself for the tiny frost bites he was going to get any moment soon.

However, no matter how much he tries to get prepared, he couldn't get used to the freezing feeling of being inside the elevators with the man who he was still trying to figure out exactly what kind of human he was.

"Did I get a call from Jade?" Drake asked his PA Garry who was almost becoming frozen behind his boss.

"No sir, you didn't get any calls," Garry confirmed, and that made Drake's shoulders slump.

Jade was the only person on the face of the earth who he genuinely cares about and he knew she was the only person who cared about him genuinely.

People only act as if they care about him, to his face, but the moment he was no longer there, they would just end up saying vile things about him.

Drake didn't say any more words after what his PA said and the air was filled with thick layers of silence until the clicking sound of the elevator doors opening broke the silence.

Drake walked out of the elevator and out of the building to the car that was waiting up front for him.

Drake despised having to remind his workers what they needed to do for him, and he detested having to wait around for things to get done for him, which was why everything has to be ready and waiting around for him before he gets there.

There was one time when Drake came out of his mansion wanting to get into the car that was meant to be waiting open, but he found the doors to be locked up, and although the driver got out immediately after he saw Drake walk out the door and held the door opened for him, Drake was so furious that he made him leave his job.

That certain news travelled wild around the whole mansion and everyone knew not to make the same mistakes of only they were not ready to lose their job.

Drake loosened his tie after he got into the white Bentley Mulsanne that was waiting in upfront for him.

"Should we return to the office?" Garry inquired but received no response and he knew what he needed to do.

"Please drive us back to the mansion," Garry told to the driver and the driver gave a curt nod.

They arrived few minutes later, and when Drake got out of the car only to be rushed at by a figure so tiny compared to his own broad ones.

"Deeee!" A shrill voice yelled and a petite figure ran towards Drake who was a little surprised to see the person who just wrapped her tiny skinny hands around his waist, and the rare smile that no one had ever seen spread across his handsome face making his face glow up even more.

"Jade when did you get here!" He exclaimed forgetting all about the fact that he was feeling a little pessimistic just a couple of minutes ago for not getting a call from her.

After losing everyone he knew, and everyone he ever loved in a gruesome accident, Jade was the only person who made life a little worth living for him.

So many times he had thought of dying and giving up on everything but he couldn't leave because he had to protect her in the cruel world they live in.

The workers outside the mansion stole glances at the two people who were still glued to each other, and they couldn't help but wonder if that was really the man who they knew to literally be a beast.

None among them had ever seen him smile before, and this was a really rare sight for them, so they couldn't help but stare. Even Garry was staring at the two with mouth agape because it was also his first time seeing his boss smile, although he was always with him until the wee hours of the night almost everyday.

"I just did. I was about to call you when your car drove in!" She beamed at him after pulling away to look at his face.

They both started to walk into the mansion as they kept having a conversations about how they missed each other.

The guards all gave each other questioning look at each other, but they immediately snapped out of it, and stood straight up when Garry cleared his throat before walking into the mansion.

Although Garry was as surprised as they were, he didn't let it make him forget about his duties because he still valued his job.

"I made dinner reservations for your birthday," Drake informed Jade after they were seated on the sofa in the living room.

"Really, how did you know I was going to return before my birthday," she asked with a glint of excitement in her eyes and that made Drake's smile broadened even more.

"You think I won't be able to know what you would do after all these years I've spent knowing you?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.

And that earned him a slight hit on the shoulder from Jade who was laughing uncontrollably thinking back to all those years.

They were seated in the living room now and continued to speak about things they wanted to catch up on about each other and laughter would feel the ears of the workers every once in a while.

A maid had come to bring them a glass juice saw the smile on Drake's face, and the shock on her face caused her to freeze in place, dropping the tray with juice to the floor making it spill every where including on Drake and Jade's body.

Realizing what she had just done, the maid's eyes widened even more as she knew for sure that she was as good as dead... And maybe she was right because the look on Drake's face when he looked down at Jade's body said the exact same thing.
