21 Chapter -- 21

Serena ran up to her room with tears in her red eyes leaving her gaping father behind unable to fathom her behavior.

*Bang*

Serena she on the door behind her and leaned on it, her legs weakening as her body started to slowly slide on the floor, after a few seconds she curled up, her head touching her knees, red eyes drenched in tears.

A visible path could be seen, carved by the flow of tears on her cheek.

After a few minutes of weeping in that position, she stood up and walked towards the window in her room.

Out of the window, one can see the beautiful quarter moon surrounded by a cluster of stars.

She looked out the window, eyes fixed on the moon as another drop of tear escaped from her right eye and fell down at her table on a notebook.

She looked down at the table and what met her eyes was a mess of various papers, books, and an open laptop.

Looking at the table her eyes squinted as another wave of tears started gushing out of her eyes.

'I worked so hard… just for you to be proud of me.'

'Yet you never gave me a chance and shoved things I never wanted to down on my throat.'

'We… were so happy when we were kids … where has our happiness gone now.'

'you were so kind and caring and now all that's left of you now is a power-hungry man…'

Atticus was laying on his bed after he came back from the Elverson Entrance ceremony.

[Tomorrow you will meet her… Do you have everything planned?]

'Why? Is the cold-hearted Luna System now worried about me?' asked Atticus with a smirk on his face.

[No, I just want to make it clear that you better have everything planned as I am not putting in a single thread of effort this time.]

'*tch* I get it… I'll think of a way.' thought Atticus as he stood up holding his chin with in his right hand.

'Can you define true friend for me… emphasis on true friend.'

[So that's where you have decided to start.]

[Well… take it like this, a true friend is someone who is by your side no matter what happens, even if he has to risk your life for it.]

'You mean a Simp?'

[No… A simp is someone who hopes for something in return, in most cases sexual pleasure. But a true friend doesn't want anything at all.]

'then why shall he do anything for someone if there are no returns?'

[Because you are a friend.]

[You know what, let me feed you all the data instead.]

After hearing that voice Atticus felt a chilling pain from his course through his temple down to his spine. His eyes lost the light for a second after coming back.

'So… that's what you mean' thought Atticus with an understanding look on his face.

'unrequited love would be the better term for this though. Emphasis on Unrequistic.'

'But this method is interesting… It should work on every girl.' thought Atticus with a smile on his face.

[No. You're wrong, there's no universal method to gain anyone's affection.]

[Everyone has a different personality, some like to be dominated some like to dominate. Some want to be loved some like a Love-hate relationship.]

'Yeah, you're right… If I used such a method on Lily.' a shiver ran through Atticus' spine as a drop of sweat could be seen on his forehead.

[Now you understand it.]

'Anyways, I should sleep now, tomorrow is my first day at school, *sigh* more importantly it's my first day of meeting her.'

The shining sun rays peeked through Atticus's windows and fell straight on his face. Atticus got up lazily, opened his eyes, yawned, and stretched his arms.

'I am not used to changing beds.' the thought after which he turned his head and looked at the digital clock on his table which displayed {7:00}

'I should get up now. I don't want to be late on the first day… and I will be meeting her as well.'

Atticus got up, made his bed, and went inside his bathroom. After taking a cold shower he opened his wardrobe and put on his new school uniform.

'White shirt with a cascade collar and black pants. This makes me feel like I am back to the 18th century…' thought Atticus as he looked at the mirror.

'How do I look, Luna?' asked Atticus

[On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give you a solid 8.3.]

'Thank you for telling me something I had absolutely no idea about. Emphasis on absolutely.'

[I literally gave you a number for your looks.]

'Yeah but I want a general definition, not just a number.'

[8 is enough to be an okayish model with a decent fan base and a few hundred crazy fans. Make crazy bold.]

[8.3 is enough to be an outstanding model with a large fan base… work a little hard and you might be the top person in the world.]

'top person in the world huh… with the number of people I have met with a 9 number how can you even say that?'

[That was… Well only about 100 people have 9 or above in this world so…]

'Okay… got it. Although it's still strange for the people with 9 to meet me and be so close to me as well.'

[It's a small world we live in they say.]

'True.' saying these last words to Luna Atticus decided it was time to depart.
