She had woken up earlier than she usually did all because she was excited about going out today. It was her first time going on an island she had been excited all for the opportunity to see the ocean and spend her time on the beach. She had intended to go the previous day after the ceremony but had not been able because of her cousin. They were age mates and had grown up in different packs until her cousin had requested to move in with them. Her father being a generous and magnanimous uncle accepted and treated her like a daughter as she had said she had moved because her family neglected her.

Later her elder cousin and her cousin's brother had disclosed it was not the case but her cousin had decided to move because they lived in a more prominent pack. She had hoped to even join their pack and even find a mate but had been rejected during the acceptance ceremony. Which was held at the beginning of every year to accept new packmates, one was only eligible if they had stayed in the pack of five years or had been mated to someone in the pack. The occupants who didn't join for a mate had to go through a test which her cousin had not even been allowed to take at the beginning of the year.

Probably because the priests and or priestess present had realized her true nature and had even asked the alpha to throw her out the pack. She could still remember five years ago when her cousin had first joined she had thought she would have a new friend. Who expected her cousin to be a proud snob who likes bullying the pups in the pack and flirt with other peoples mates. No one had noticed or if they had nobody had said anything but she had been rejected during the acceptance ceremony and had to leave in embarrassment.

Due to their similar ages, her father had asked her to live with her during the mating ball month but she already hated it on the first week. Her cousin had not changed as she had hoped but instead became worse by bringing boys to their room despite her refusal and acting like she owned their place which her father had paid for. She was still angry regarding yesterday when her cousin called her back with the excuse of being attacked and being hurt. Being the caring cousin she was she had rushed back only to realize her cousin was not there and it was all a prank after being locked into the house. A newest swimsuit and sunglasses were also missing making her realize she had stolen them and it was probably why she had locked her in.

"Joyce!" she called out after walking out of her room and towards the kitchenette, they shared with the other people in the villa. Only alphas, betas, and special guests could stay in the main hotel while the rest had to either live in the adjacent villas which would be shared by a couple of people, or the peripheral hotel station which had smaller rooms and fewer amenities. She shared the compartmentalized villa with some other wolves all from her pack which made up eight people but they shared the kitchen, living room, game room, and other common amenities.

One of them had been the one to let her out after hearing her yell from her side of the villa which she shared with her cousin. They all knew her cousin and her tendencies very well and pitied her for having to live with her. She had been a nuisance, to all of them but had recently been vanishing a lot probably going to the main hotel. One of the girls they lived with had told her she had been going there with the hopes of having a highly ranked wolf as a mate. She just hoped no pack would have to survive having such a person as their luna.

"She has probably gone to the hotel" one of the girls in the kitchen retorted mockingly making her sigh.

"The goddess would surely not make her a luna right?" another one commented getting nods from everyone in the room.

"Even if it happened we could do nothing" she retorted as she poured herself a cup of coffee and sat on the only empty seat and slowly sipped her coffee.

"You are so unlucky to have her as your cousin" another girl sympathized saying what she had been thinking for a while now.

"Let's not ruin our day talking about her, what do you plan on doing today?" the first girl changed the topic making the room feel brighter.

"Going to the beach, I wanted to go yesterday but..." she trailed off reminding them of what had happened the previous day.

"I hate her" one of the girls complained shooting her a piteous glance as another rubbed her back comfortingly.

"Okay we will all go with you," she continued after some time making her smile. She had wanted to ask some of them to go with her but since they had offered she did not mind and nodded in agreement with a smile.

"Thanks so much, guys" she acknowledged happily.

"It's nothing, we are only going as it is the best place to meet our mates" one of the girls joked making them all laugh.

"Speak for yourself I am going because we don't have an ocean back home" another girl added amid their laughter.

"Yeah, I will visit this beach as much as I can so I don't miss it when we head back" the girl next to her emphasized.

"Me too, I don't know when I will visit a beach again" she commented as she finished her coffee and muffin which had been handed to her when she had taken a seat. They had planned to share resources back in the pack when they had booked the villa before coming. Everything was good except Joyce would often complain that she was wasting their money by sharing with others. Which was absurd as she had not offered any of her money and was only using the one given by her dad. She still didn't understand how they were related due to their varying opinions.
