The world came back into focus slowly, the hazy fog of unconsciousness gradually lifting like a
veil being drawn back. My senses were assaulted by a cacophony of sensations – the pungent
smell of blood, the metallic tang of fear lingering on my tongue, and the distant sounds of
anguished cries echoing in the distance.
Blinking rapidly, I tried to make sense of my surroundings, but everything seemed distorted,
fragmented. Flashes of memory flickered through my mind – Lilliana's lips pressed against
mine, the warmth of her embrace, and then... the sickening sight of Emilia crumpling to the
ground, her life's essence spilling forth.
Panic gripped my heart, and I struggled to push myself upright, my muscles screaming in
protest. "Lily?" I croaked, my voice hoarse and strained. "Emilia?"
A soft groan answered me, and I whipped my head toward the source of the sound. Relief
