Threads of Friendship: A Day with Amber and Claire

I boil the spaghetti and make prepare the sauce. Amber and Claire prepare the meatballs. The whole kitchen smells so good. We sit down to have it.

"Mmmm, it is delicious. I could finish it all" Claire says.

We finish the entire spaghetti and I clean the kitchen counter while Claire cleans the table and Amber loads the dishwasher. We head to the living room and sit on the couch. I feel sleepy because I ate a lot today, more than usual.

"Are you staying tonight?" Amber asks.

"No, I have classes tomorrow" I tell her.

Claire switches on the large LED TV that is hung on the wall.

"Wanna watch some movies?" she asks the two of us. Amber and I agree and we end up watching Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, a movie we have watched over 20 times and Mission Impossible after that.

"I'll go and bring some coffee" Claire says and stands up.

I check the time. It is only 2 in the afternoon. Claire returns with three steaming cup of coffee.

"Do you wanna watch another movie?" I ask the two of them.

"Okay" they say together.

So I select Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge. It is already 4 by the time we finish watching it.

"I think, I should get going" I say and stand up.

"Why are you leaving so early?" Claire asks getting up.

"Stay for another hour, it's only 30 minutes to your place" Amber says getting up.

"I know, but I have to do some shopping on my way back home" I tell them.

"There's a new supermarket nearby, let us go there, I also have a few things to buy" Amber says.

"Okay " I say and grab my phone and purse.

"I'll go and change" Amber says and climbs the stairs.

She is back within 10 minutes and grabs her car keys from the drawer near the kitchen.

We head outside and Amber locks the main door. Claire opens the gate and I get into my car. Amber gives her car keys to Claire and she goes and stands outside the gate. I start the car and drive outside Amber's house and Claire follows suit in Amber's car. Amber locks the gate and gets into her car.

The new supermarket is only 10 minutes drive from Amber's house. We park the car and head inside. I buy a few stationery items and a jar of strawberry jam, cocoa powder, a packet of edible sprinkles, choco chips and chocolate syrup. Amber buys a few grocery items and we pay the bill and head outside.

"We had a great time today, do visit us sometimes" Amber says giving me a tight hug.

"Yes, next time you two will come to my place" Claire says smiling and gives me a tight hug as well.

"Oh, mom has invited you two for lunch next week" I tell them.

"Of course we'll be there by 11" Amber says and Claire smiles in approval.

"Okay, I'll get going then" I tell them and we group hug.

I keep the bought items in the back seat and get into my car. They wave me goodbye and smiling, I start my car and turn around the driveway.

I had the best time today and I thank god for giving me such wonderful friends.
