Chapter 77 - Epilogue

Alright, there's still an endnote, but I just wanted to say that if you want me to elaborate on some stuff or maybe cover things that weren't here, leave a comment and I'll try to find the time to upload a chapter. Kinda like those side story ones.

It took some effort, but Luffy managed to build a relationship with Hancock. She was arrogant and warry when Luffy made his intentions clear, but after Luffy presented his gift of security, things changed. Hancock realized that Luffy knew of her past, yet he still pursued her genuinely. She knew that he did since she couldn't turn him to stone, meaning he didn't have any dirty thoughts about her. His actions spoke loudly, and she decided to give him a chance. Luffy was glad about it, since if things progressed they would be able to establish a healthy relationship, unlike the one they had before Luffy went back in time.

*Pere pere pere* A Den Den Mushi rang out on a ship sailing a cloudy sea in the sky. "Hello?" Luffy answered while reading a report on his desk. "Hey, son. I called to inform you that you don't need to send a new shipment next month, we finally finished the operation." Dragon's voice came from the weird snail. "Really? Congratulations. How's Shanks and Whitebeard dealing with it?" Luffy asked. "As a matter of fact, they helped us. They never were the types to like the Underworld's shady business, so when we offered them a deal worth their time they agreed to help us erase them off the face of the planet. And they would always take a chance to eliminate another Emperor, so enlisting their help in taking down Big Mom was even easier," Dragon informed. "Awsome, though who will take care of the newspapers now? I mean, you killed the giant bird, right?" Luffy asked.

"We didn't, actually. That sneaky bird decided to switch sides when he realized that the Underworld stood no chance, so he's still part of the newspaper. However, now all his articles have to go through Koala since his overly dramatic style isn't appreciated anymore." Dragon said. "Sounds amazing. But if some trouble comes up just give me a call. Don't forget, I made the Guardian Angel Project for a reason. My men can descend down to every nook and cranny on the planet at a moment's notice." Luffy reminded Dragon.

"Yeah, I know. Still, things are looking to be even more peaceful now that the Underworld and another Yonko are gone. And with our new Adventurers program, people don't need to resort to piracy to make a living or make their dreams come true. At least not the violent ones." Dragon said. "Honey, it's time to go, Sanji made curry." A sweet voice echoed in the distance. "Coming! Sorry, Dad, I gotta go," Luffy said. "Ha! Don't worry about it. Have fun," Dragon chuckled as he hung up.

The world continued to go on, with the crime rate going down daily thanks to the efforts of the new World Government. During the years, Luffy admitted that he was immortal after some people questioned how he didn't age. He spoke about the original timeline before he returned in time. It was quite the shock, but the crew had quickly accepted it. They saw and experienced plenty of weird things already, so time travel wasn't that hard to accept. And besides, they had bonds tighter than blood with each other including Luffy, so they could never resent him for that. However, it did have one consequence. Hancock started to freak out as she realized that Luffy would have to eventually move on from her. Luckily, her fears never came true.

On his deathbed, this time from age, Law used his devil fruit one last time. Law granted Hancock immortality in exchange for his life. In addition, just before Law's action, Luffy found Jewelry Bonney, who made Hancock revert back into her twenties so that she won't be immortal with the body of an old woman.

Decades came and went, then Centuries, then Millenniums. Generations replaced each other, yet the world was kept pure. The World Government wasn't corrupted again thanks to numerous policies, rules, and efforts to only recruit worthy people. And in case some serious trouble did occur, angels flew down from the sky to deal with the situations.

In the sky themselves, Luffy and Hancock lived together with their family of numerous children. They lived happily in the sky, on a giant island for themselves. They received reports about the world and took care of it from above, but other than that, they were free to do as they liked. Luffy and Hancock lived happily for countless years, acting as guardians of the world.

The end

=====================================================

Welp, that's it, guys. It was a wonderful journey, and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to share it with you! By the way, I have a second fanfic if you want to check it out. It's basically a post-apocalyptic MHA. Currently, it's a fully original story with only OC's at the moment. It will get to the cannon story eventually, but definitely not soon. If you want to check it out, it's called MHA: Force of Will.
