Inside De Xi's room...

De Xi and Lu Bai were seated on the sofa in the middle of the room, facing each other, both of them reluctant to speak first.

"Let's get done with this quickly." De Xi said as she could no longer stand the silence.

Lu Bai looked at De Xi calmly, before he slid his hand inside his blazer and took out a small black Pendrive.

"I'm only responsible for what I say, not for what you understand," he said calmly as he placed it on the tea table and straightened against the sofa, under De Xi's scrutinizing gaze.

"I have all the proof proving my innocence here, which is unnecessary as I know it was a scheme of yours." Lu Bai said sharply, his eyes cold and full of disgust and self-mockery.

De Xi looked at him calmly not even the slightest bit of guilt or regret in her eyes, there was a faint smile on her lips which never reached her eyes.

"Though I don't know why you did so, I'm sure you did have a good reason, which I think now I am more than deserving to know it." Lu Bai said as he looked at De Xi pointedly but the latter was least interested.

Instead a small fake yawn 'Accidentally' escaped her mouth, which she unhurriedly hid.

"Just keep talking, I yawn when I'm interested." De Xi said as she smiled at him, her eyes cold and indifferent.

"Just how much did you hate me for being incompetent back then?" Lu Bai asked his black orbs reflecting the wound of his heart.

"I don't have time to hate anyone, I either love you or, I don't care at all." De Xi said as she looked at Lu Bai in a carefree manner.

De Xi's words broke the last strand of patience and rationality in Lu Bai. He stood up and stormed out of the room, almost bumping into Head Butler Melan who was bringing their breakfast.

She looked at the angry Lu Bai and then towards De Xi's room door in confusion, she continued towards De Xi's room and entered after knocking.

"The conversation lasted longer than I expected." Head Butler Melan said calmly, not the least bit surprised or shocked at the fuming Lu Bai outside and an indifferent De Xi inside.

De Xi heard Head Butler Melan and looked at her with her brows raised as if surprised by her.

"With how talented you are in angering the people, it was a surprise he lasted so long." Head Butler Melan explained herself with a small smile as she laid out the breakfast on the tea table.

"Just leave mine here and take everything else back." De Xi said as she calmly looked at the black Pendrive on the table.

Head Butler Melan nodded wordlessly and picked up all the bowls except for a soup and salad bowl, which was De Xi's regular breakfast.

"Aunt Melan has Little Princess, had her breakfast?" De Xi asked as she remembered her daughter still did not have her breakfast before she left.

"I delivered it to her room, I believe Little Young Miss is still a bit uncomfortable around so many people." Head Butler Melan answered with a little helplessness.

"It is fine, let her get accustomed to it at her own speed, there is no rush." De Xi said calmly, as she sighed softly.

"Understood Young Miss, if there is nothing else I shall take my leave." Head Butler Melan said as she bowed slightly and left after De Xi nodded in approval.

After Head Butler Melan left, De Xi bent forward and picked up the black Pendrive, with a small, amused, and delighted smile on her face, this time it was real from the depths of her heart.

'Oh Bai! It took you so long. Finally, I made you the man I always wanted you to be.' De Xi sighed in relief as she stared at the Pendrive with pride and satisfaction.

She tenderly held the Pendrive and stood up, before making her way towards her walk-in closet, where she placed the Pendrive inside a hidden vault on the floor alongside other important things.

Her mobile started ringing on the tea table as soon as she left the walk-in closet.

She quickly made her way to the tea table and picked up the mobile, immediately connecting the call after looking at the caller id.

"President, I am here." Cheng Jiu's voice came from the other side of the call.

"I'm heading downstairs now." De Xi said calmly and disconnected the call after Cheng Jiu agreed in understanding.

De Xi was already dressed in a navy blue-white stripped, double breast business suit. She quickly buttoned up her blazer and headed out of her room with her mobile.

She reached the living room to find everyone seated in the living room with Natalia as the center of attention.

"Quite popular, aren't we Little Princess?" De Xi asked in amusement as she looked at Natalia and then all the people around her.

"Not as popular as you Mummy," Natalia said as she smiled sweetly but her eyes had a playful smirk.

De Xi looked at Natalia with a stony look, which the latter ignored blatantly and turned towards her father.

"Daddy, how did the talk go with Mummy, though I know it is very difficult to maintain a conversation with an experienced conversation breaker like her," Natalia said as she looked at her father, ignoring all the glares her mother was directing towards her.

"Woww... I am finally seeing the day, who can actually ignore that glare." De Xiu mused to De Xing as she looked at Natalia in awe.

"Perks of being the most pampered and loved child, I guess." De Xing said as he shrugged but was equally in awe of Natalia's bold attitude.

"I am done explaining myself, but my stuff is too crazy for basic people." Lu Bai said as he smiled warmly towards Natalia but indirectly mocked De Xi.
